- Changes have finally happened. After a month of planning and cleaning and organizing and moving Max has finally moved... along with Dusty and meself. We have rented another house and Max even gets his new cage! Now time for the adjusting pains

It’s beautiful with the high ceilings....Max already seems comfortable there but all he needs is YOU Dan....anywhere YOU are is “home”.
Anywhere except for ... THE CARRIER!!!

It's just perfect for you and the kiddos, with its updated cooling options. You certainly have the knack to make a house into a home, but this place makes it easier to do so. BOTTOM LINE: You three mean so much to us.

@@tracilay4162 Yes, probably because we were worrying that the former home needed some upgrades that weren't being addressed. Also, we were increasingly reminded of Max's chewing hobby. I think it was starting to get to Dan. This place looks like it is pristine and updated. The size seems perfect for one person. The wood floors, the open concept style of the living /dining area, the choice of wood for the walls and ceiling, the sun coming in, just give it such a warm ambiance...The only downfall is that Max and Dusty don't socialize. Keeping them apart offers less options. 🤔😥
Wow!! Dan, I thought your old house was nice, but this house is absolutely gorgeous!! Congrats!! I also wish you patience with Max's transition, but you are his soul bird-dad and with you, I think he could get through almost anything (even with his cockatoo-emotions!!! Hahaha!!)!!!! Hope your neighbor's are kind and hard-of-hearing!! Again, congrats!! Moving can really be a pain, but hopefully the hardest part is behind you and new adventures await!

I'm saving to move out of the apartment I've been in for almost 7 years. We have yet another nasty manager.
The 1st one will do me a big favor when she states I can't move to 'her' apartments. She's done that to others from my apt. building when they wanted to move there but 'they' just took her crap, I'll have a good atp. lawyer when I go over there. Discrimination lawsuite! Can't wait ! She'll be the one looking for a new job hopefully.

Those floors and ceilings are really nice! Max is still checking everything out. I guess that means more chew toys to keep the little bird lips occupied. Nice new cage too! Hope you three enjoy your new space!
So funny. You're showing us the beautiful new home and Max is busy breaking down the bird carrier since he won't be needing anymore, haha. He's very good at removing the wing nuts.
Max is so adorable. Its wonderful that he has the freedom to be outside of his cage so he can walk around and stretch his wings and his legs. I always thought it was so cute when you bring an animal to a new environment and you see their curiosity and how they explore and take everything in. Pets bring so much joy into our lives❤

Seeing him make quick work of taking apart the carrier, it is clear that Max knows about lefty loosey and righty tighty.
They sell corner-shaped clear plastic strips to prevent damage to drywall corners. If you could mount them with 3M Command mounting strips, they could protect door corners and edges etc. from Max... and when the time comes, Command strips come off, leaving no trace.
Enjoy your new place! Hey, hang a broomstick between those lights, and Max has a high perch!

I have four cats that are typically outdoor cats. You will have to keep Dusty inside for several weeks because once they go out if they aren't familiar with the area they have a tendency to run off. We bought the house next door after 50 yrs. and my cats kept going back to the old house. It took nearly 3 months before they would even be lured inside with food.
Beautiful home! What's more beautiful is how you are easing Max's transition into his new surroundings instead of just dumping them onto him all at once. The new cage is awesome! He should feel better about more space. You are a very good and kind Birdie Daddy!

Hi Barb, this place has such a "warm" feeling to it. Dan's a great decorator. I hope this move is closer to Grandma and Pappy, but it probably isn't too far from the other place, due to his job... Glad you're feeling better.

Love your new home. The wooden doors, floors and ceiling are gorgeous. I moved 13 times in 20 years. With all my animals. Very hard. We moved again in October, in the desert. Finally, staying put. We got over an acre and redid the home. I put all wood with new windows. Still fixing it up. Built a bigger porch, now we have to paint it and the outside house. I wish you all the best in your new home. Give the petunia, Max and beautiful Dusty a kiss for me. Very comfy looking. I moved from Philly in 96 to AZ. Can't stand the cold. But, most of my family is from upstate PA. My mom and all her 10 siblings were from Girardville, PA. My grandfather was a coal miner. God bless you all in your new home.
