I hate when people say "I don't see color". Everyone sees color. It's one the first things you notice about someone. I get what she meaning. I mean I F' with whoever F' with me. I start off respectful with everyone until they not respectful to me regardless of color.
It is what it is i had a puerto rican boyfriend who spoke no Spanish but they did in his household. When i asked him why he didn't speak Spanish he said i grew up in Brooklyn around black people😮
People up top still think it's more racist in the south, but it's actually way more segregation up north. I see more interracial couples in the south. I lived in both places. Southern poverty is spread out among all areas and colors. In the north, poverty is secluded in pockets of non white neighbors.
I'm from NYC, and we aren't mixed in culture like that, we just don't fight as much as you would think. If it was all love there would never be any Latin King & Blood beef in the past which was race based. Even other Blacks don't have all love with each other, especially Black Americans getting subtle hate from other Black immigrants Most Blk people from NYC are either not American lineage or they aren't connected to most of Black America which is why the N word being said by others isn't a problem like the south or other places. It also explains why we aint winning in a culture we created(Hip Hop), a lot of Blk Americans went down south
Damn im not even 1 minute in and he started with that question why as black people do ya,ll feel the need to be suspicious of white/lightskin people who have black friends ? Mariah dont have a history of being racist or disrespectful i find it weird that he started with that but ok let me continue watching the interview
Im dominican born and raised in the bronx i say N!&&@ just like everyone else on the block. And i'll be damn if someone tells me i cant use it. Lol but at the same time im turning 40 this year. Its a word i try no to use as much as well as others.
Now Mariah you lived in Montgomery but you didn’t hang out with us and you couldn’t join the lil hood team because you couldn’t dance but Ms. Jonny made us be nice to you and we were you just didn’t have no dam rhythm. I knew that was your non dancing azzz. Shout out to uou for making it out.

You can be full black and full Puerto Rican at the same time. She clearly sees color. She doesn’t know enough to even explain race vs ethnicity.

Even if we don't see color, America groups us based on color. So, it becomes tricky.
I like the growth! Looks good on her!
There's racism in NY and NJ, everywhere. They just not more open about it like in the south

Historically Puerto Ricans were considered white if that adds context. In America Spanish speaking populations were white until the 1970s.
Who's "he" she's referencing?
