  • Today's virtual walking tour takes along the streets of Bozeman, Montana. Although the fictional Duttons "live" nearby, the show Yellowstone is actually filmed elsewhere. Filming Virtual tours of cities can be a bit tough when the weather doesn't cooperation but the fall colors really pop on a cool fall day.
    We've filmed in Bozeman several times before but it's been over a year so I figured I'd go back and give an updated virtual walk. We start at the Emerson Center for the Arts and walk down Main Street to the Library and then into the North Side neighborhood. We circle back to Main Street and end up at the Emerson again. I hope you enjoy our virtual walks. Let us know what we can do better in the comments. Keep on steppin' -H

      Mark 13:2 (KJV) And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
      Ephesians 2:19-22 (KJV) Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
      And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
      In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
      In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

      Thanks for the info! Looks like they are going to tear it down and the price is for the new house. Still, it's down from 1.2M. -H

    Good to see you back in Montana. Such vibrant colours. Autumn really is my favourite time of year. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk. It is amazing to see how large the United States are and how very different each state is both visually and culturally

      I was just reading something saying something similar the other day. It's always interesting to me to learn how people from other countries view the US and the people there. Thanks so much and I'm glad you enjoyed it. -H

    Hi Henry. Thanks for the walk and the shout out. My mom sometimes watches your walks, and it will make her happy to hear my name. Bozeman is a genuinely appealing small city that seems to be evolving into a resort version of a Montana town. You can still see some of Bozeman's historical origins, but not in the same way as you'd see them in the smaller towns you've walked in. I can still picture Livingston in a Louis L'Amour novel, Bozeman not so much. I don't say that to disparage Bozeman, it's lovely on its own merits, but it's history is fading (at least from what I've seen in your walks). Finally, regarding the difficulty measuring the passage of time you mentioned, I read that as we age, we experience fewer things that are new, so it takes are brains less time to process what is happening, which in turn makes time seem to go by faster. Autumn looked nice, hope you are enjoying it so far.

    I watched this wondering if it would explain why I see nonstop air flights from eastern US, like Boston from large airlines and numerous small craft as well daily. I always assumed it is because of a lot of big game hunting in the area. From what I can tell from this podcast though it would be Montana State University popularity. Please correct me if I am wrong.

      Hi Paul, I think it's b/c Bozeman made so many "Best of" lists in the last decade. There's a ton of outdoor recreation here. Mainly skiing and fishing but also hiking, biking, floating, and of course hunting. It's also one of the nearest airports to Yellowstone National Park. -H
