I'm very passionate about writing music
Traveling and France ❤️
Marta is clearly talented. I look forward to recognising her in something soon. :)
+TheMovieMyLife We agree :)
Don’t know why, but these videos make me extremely sad. In LA all these women are chasing dreams that are crazy unattainable. The standards for actresses are insane, and just imagine all that negative feedback all the time hoping for a yes. As much as I don’t like the boujieness of actresses, now I understand that a lot of them had to go through all this BS before they could even sleep at night
Ashley Stepp yeah it's super depressing, there are some good stories like Veronica Falcon who's like 20 years older than her www.google.com/amp/people.com/chica/queen-of-the-south-veronica-falcon-talks-age-empowering-women-blooming-career/amp/#ampshare=people.com/chica/queen-of-the-south-veronica-falcon-talks-age-empowering-women-blooming-career/ I know it's kind of depressing that there are so many amazingly talented people not being recognized but anything can happen.
Ashley Stepp It’s such a journey and we do want to give up all the time, but the sweet reward of booking work keeps you in the game! Surrounding yourself with a community of loving friends and family helps and staying involved in your craft through acting classes, writing and producing your own work and staying involved in between work in your study of acting really keeps us going! It’s a passion. There is rejection, but after years of acting (since I was 7!) I’ve learned that I’m creating fans in the casting world and even if I don’t book a job they keep bringing me back in and cheering me on. Most important...be so good they can’t deny you! Never stop studying your craft no matter what industry you’re in!
They make me sad too, but it in a beautiful, real way. I don't even know if sad is the right word. They make me emotional. Yes, they are trying and failing over and over, which is so difficult to see and relate to. But nevertheless they persist and they grow stronger each time, even if they don't feel like they do. Like Jim Carrey says, if you give up on your dreams, what's left?
Marta Cross you are truly beautiful, with a flawless figure, and very talented!! I am praying for your success. Keep it up!
UA-camName Thank you so much🙏🏼
I remember being a young girl and wanting all that validation (let's face it, if it was about acting itself... you don't have to be in Hollywood for that at all) and then when I was 19 I worked on a filmset and I saw the copious amounts of cocaine, secrets, groupies and all-round misery going around and I was like... yeah maybe I'll be a scientist. I feel like Hollywood is shaped to fit broken people and it's a waste of a perfectly good, smart, talented person. I wish every woman their dream-come-true, I just think a lot of the time with Hollywood the dream isn't really what they think.
You made the right choice. The world needs scientists, especially female scientists. I also want to see normal women on screen. Women who look like the women I see every day leaving the house. I'm sick and tired of having to pretend the entire world is only populated by the most beautiful, perfect women.
Hollywood is pretty. At least if you're homeless in LA you're homeless by the beach not freezing to death on a piss covered park bench in New York. California is nice, just face it
This women is awesome!!! Hope she finds success in everything she works for! Blessings for her and her son!!!
I'm digging this series so much. I's so interesting and something you never really get to see as someone not in the industry.
+szippy6 So glad you enjoy it!
Marta, correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you living the dream? You're an actress who goes on auditions ( like I'm assuming 99% of actors do) and you have a wonderful baby in your life. Mom and actress. Not so bad as far as Ii can see. I do hope you are doing well. -Neil C. Boston, MA
*Marta~ Continue doing what makes you happy! If you don't you'll feel resentment & your son will think it's because of him. If anything, go even harder.. You now have more purpose & more of a reason to do well. You have another life to provide for & having a happy, thriving mother is the best gift you could give him. I went through it & gave up, as a single mom of 2. I regret it every single day! I wish you the best. Can't wait until I see your big break... I'll be watching! XO* 💕💝💕
*ps. Your son is SO gorgeous, with the most beautiful smile.* 😍
Britt Brat Thank you so much for the encouraging words. By the way, you will always be an actress. Come back whenever you’re ready or stay in it by writing, community theater or just recording yourself doing monologues on UA-cam. Being a mom is the greatest gift and job in the world though and it is difficult with the pull to want to spend every minute with him, but you’re right. The passion and drive will always be there and it completes me. Thank you so much for your support 💜
So much love to you...💕❤️💕
I love this series
It’s a tough business. What app was that were using in your car ? Thanks
Tenth comment!! I’m so early woo
Brake a leg
how does she afford to live in LA, eat, pay rent/mortgage, have childcare and be an 'auditioning actress' ? I wish people would talk about that financial reality of survival more. . does she work a 'day job'?
Addie W she’s wearing Louboutins and driving a brand new car. She’s got that husband money
I think she's supported by her husband. This story is probably atypical of most auditioning actresses, but interesting nonetheless!
i mean, it was a theoretical questions but its frustrating when that aspect isn't talked about, it doesn't portray a realistic picture for a lot of us
Addie W true true. I guess it's a risk for the interviewer to ask those sorts of questions because the interviewee might become hostile. It's a tricky subject that probably requires more rapport building to get an actual good answer (idk how long the interviewer follows the subjects around for, 2 days?)
Addie W she is an auditioning actress but that doesn't mean she is poor or jobless.
People complaining about these videos saying there depressing why do people only wants to hear and see the highs and but not the lows. Success is not an overnight thing and I mean that for anything not just acting. Going after your dreams is not always glamours and happy all the time. I love these series of videos and the best luck to all of these women.
It only happened for Morgan Freeman when he was 49😢
As an actress myself I hate how this industry is set up. You could work your ass off for 10 years and nothing happen. But there can be a person who had never trained a day in their life and never stepped on set and they get all the success
I could flip that around and say that's what makes it great. One audition, one role and someone can get their shot.
Refinery29, you always choose interesting stories but they ALL seem to be atypical, you tell us a story about an auditioning actress/mom who obviously has a rich husband (when most women in this position are struggling), or the woman who did IVF, but she's rich and then her bf weirdly only supports his son and not her other son (as a couple I would expect my man to step up to the overall plate)....
Lola it is actually a legitimate feeling to not want to be full parent for someone else's kid. why isn't the other kid's daddy not supporting his own child. see this the problem that i have with some of the young mums at work who are taking time off and are asking for cover. I'm like your child has a father, GET THE DADDY involved, get HIM TO TAKE TIME OFF. This is never ok, I firmly believe that if you created a child together you should take care of it. I don't want a child that will tell me " You are not my dad you don't get to tell me what to do ! ".
+lolas Did you watch last week's episode? ua-cam.com/video/oux0iat3CGs/v-deo.html
No, the woman did IVF with a donor sperm before meeting her current bf. So the child has no father (technically speaking). Therefore, imagine if this boyfriend stays in her life and as the child becomes older he begins to realize the distance between him and his stepdad, begins to realize how differently he is treated, begins to realize that this man who is supposed and who he wants to be his dad does not want to pay for even his meal.
Stupid comment
@@PHlophe Another stupid comment. Smh
All these stories are so sad. You just know that not all of them are going to make it and they all don't seem to ever want to quit. I understand following your passion.....but if they all like acting so much......are they writing/making their own productions?
This videos are great keep them coming! Wow Marta’s really good keep moving forward!
it doesnt matter how much money you have. To juggle a job and motherhood when the kids are little is always challenging.
what app is she using to practice?
I belive in her. She seems like someone meant to be successful.
this video was just slightly different from your other videos, but despite it all this video gives off a very "documentary-esque" and the video really draws you in.
+Winter Snow Happy to hear you love this video!!
everyone in LA is an actor - it's kind of sad. two auditions and she doesn't seem to have a day job so idk why she is so exhausted.
TheUptownGrrl umm because she takes care of the baby
I am in LA and I'm not an actress, so there's that. I am, however, a mom to a toddler and IT IS EXHAUSTING. Some people love acting just as others love teaching, being a nurse, managing a business, or whatever career they choose. You can't fault someone for pursuing their dreams, which is something many people don't have the guts to do, ever.
+deniseborders Thanks for sharing!
She's married to Ryan Cross, who has played Cello on American Idol nad other stuff. She's done day parts on Castle and other primetime shows plus some internet stuff. She did a REALLY sexy hypnosis video/short film in 2006 which is how I became familiar with her work. Now there's thousands of that type of video out there it's almost its own genre. She had a DUI accident at 19 that gave her sister an arfiticial hip. She did a short film "sober" about it. I doubt she's short of money and that might be why she never made it. No real hunger. Lots of women like her wind up wives and mothers when they could have won awards.
Don’t ever give up on your *DREAMS* 🌈✨💖
I dont see much future here.. So sad😕
She's so pretty
she is guapa indeed
What’s the app?
her baby boy is the spitting image of her! she’s incredible.
This is so beautiful! Well done. Captivating, intriguing and emotional. Wish you all the best for the future and all of your endeavors, Marta.
I wish you luck in your prusuit in acting but if you can have the joy of having your own family and a great child and with all of that that you can STILL find time to audition, you are winning at the game of life. You have a lot of joy in your life. I don't know much but that sure seems pretty great from where I'm sitting.
Marta is really good.
What app was she using? Does anyone know?
One of the most talented actresses I've had the pleasure to work with on multiple occasions. Keep moving forward Marta!
Best of luck to you sweet girl.
This is an amazing series that truly depicts the struggle for one's passion. Thank you so much for producing and sharing this!!
ok but what happened after? I wanna know If she got that role
You guys might want to look her up now. She's been on tear. Working like crazy.
Third time you posted this. I looked and couldn’t find anything since 2020. Get real lol
I like that a lot
its selfish af. why the hell would you put your kid through financial instability (idk how they make money or if they make enough to survive but still) for a really unrealistic goal!
Her husband is wealthy.
She is soooooo talented❤
+Abigail Ray Agreed :)
Refinery29 love you guys❤
Omg! At 18 she had such a full face! You could really notice her dimples back then. She’s a beautiful woman. Kudos to her for following her dreams. Hopefully she does some voice over work too.
