These guys are amazing, Eric Peterson’s ( the other guitarist) had a side band that used to practice across the hall from my brothers in law’s band. Chuck and Eric went to one of there local shows and Eric took over the sound board during there set. Chuck FILLS a door way, he is a massive man.
I forget how many times I've seen Testament as there seemed to be a time where they were at every metal show it felt like. Not complaining, but if you were seeing say Overkill or Exodus and especially Slayer you just took it as a foregone conclusion Testament was going to be there. I went to one show once where it was just a bunch of bands like 6 or 7 and at the end it was Nuclear Assault (which was the only band I knew would be there and why I went) then Exodus. I figured after Exodus the show was over and someone told me Testament was coming on next and I put my head between my knees and said "This show is gonna kill me!" Thankfully there's WiFi here beyond the grave, so I can leave this comment. ;-D Jokes aside what's funny hearing a video like this is it makes them sound so clean and everything is nice and balanced when in person nothing could be further from the truth. It's just this wall of sound hitting you with hurricane force strength with Chuck bellowing over it like a mighty god about to rain lightning with his voice. It's awesome!
I've seen Testament and they blew my mind before, and I got the tickets to see them once again here in Uruguay alongside German thrash metal legends Kreator (boy it will be an exhausting show that one lol). By the way, just for the sake of sharing it, part of Alex Skolnick's virtuosismo is because of his endeavours outside the metal scene. He has incursioned many times into the Jazz fusion scene, with his Alex Skolnick Trio. Between their music, they make sick jazzy covers of songs such as Judas Priest's "Electric Eye", or even a Latin Jazz version of Testament's own "Practice What You Preach". These guys definitely know how to perform. Believe me.
No bull shit, i am literally texting this out with a seperated right shoulder from the Testament/ Exodus/Death Angel show a month ago. Got a little too Toxic Waltzed! Death Angel is so underrated. Great Great show…
Speaking of good lead guitarists, Jorn Viggo Lofstad of Pagan's Mind, who looks a bit like Alex Skolnik, is awesome as well. Watch any footage from the Full Circle live performance. He shreds and makes it look eady.
Who was beating the Hell out of the drums for this show? Bastoph? Hoglan? I can’t get a good enough look from the video.🤔💪🏻🤘🏻 Edit: Ok! It’s John Tempesta and then Clemente (original drummer) came out of retirement for the final 2 or 3 songs of the gig! I thought I remembered watching this DVD about 17 years ago!😄
One of the best. Always wanted to see them live. Chuck Billy is such an awesome frontman 🤘
Mindblowing Live Band.....I saw them several Times Live and they never ever dissapoint !
