Thank you for the video, it works, just a small problem that I have faced is that I changed the naming of the firmware, don't do that as the camera won't recognize it, knowing that I only added "_2"
I find its quicker popping the micro SD out, uploading the file, manual update. No worrying about app errors. Works every time. Do the same with my GoPro
I was hoping insta360 would be releasing hardware updates much faster. The new RS is pointless if you only use the 360 mod like i do. Rather have 5.7k 60p than a minor improvement to the 4k camera and body.

I am unable to upgrade my firmware. I have emailed the company and they said to reformat in fat format. I have tried all they said and the screen just is stuck
@@JTechWP found out i needed to connect and external power supply like cell phone charger to give the camera the power to complete the firmware upgrade cycle. Then it worked.
If your using Android phone update it using the insta360 app. I guess you could download the file to the phone then copy it to a micro SD card if your phone has micro sd slot using a file manager.
Badly designed side door, lost mine within a day or two of having the camera.............. official website of Insta do not have that accessory available.......... so surprized as this very badly designed door must be a loss for many a purchaser of an otherwise good camera.
You’re right it’s very bad design. They should copy the GoPro door. I’ve seen 3rd party side doors on eBay if that helps. Trashed my 360 lens 😌 be great if the next version has replaceable lenses

Yeah, don't rename the firmware file.
Good vid, I might need to do this as iOS isn't showing up in the USB setting of this camera.

The issue that i have with insta360 one r is the sound from mic
mic issues should be solved in the latest firmware
What are the bug fixes on this? My main concern is the corrupted file when a sudden power cut has been experienced

FIrmware is updated to v1.2.18, camera plugged into my Windows 10 ... but Zoom isn't recognizing the camera. What am I missing?
Did you go into windows settings, set the insta360 as default camera?
sometimes restarting windows, plugin the insta, it may recognise it

Yes you can update from the app, I just find this way faster and more reliable
