Um...we hold grudges because we go out of our way to be considerate and caring to others and don't understand why anyone else wouldn't want to do the same, so by the time you have pissed us off, likely the transgressions have been going on for quite a while and the person has not made an effort to apologize or improve their behavior... hence the grudge. A single, SINCERE apology is all that's needed to end the grudge, too
