You can drop the item you're currently dragging regardless if there's open space on the floor or not. This means that you can strip all components off of any ship, drag 'em to your cabin and drop them on top of each other.
a thing you will figure out quickly is that you want to make your airlock a double, so that you have your main outer airlock area that you can empty of air since you really don't want to lose too much of it at a bad time - so making a second area airlock behind it will help a lot - basically you need 3 airlock doors, your outer that you interface with other crafts with, then one door to close the area off behind the outer door with pumps that empty out that area automatically, then the 3rd door to give you access to the inner airlock space, also with pumps to empty out the inner airlock space... (basic 3x3 rooms work fine for both airlocks, you can make your inner airlock space your trade one)
man i remember buying this game when it first released on early access, nice to see that it has advanced so far, im gonna wait for 1.0 before i start playing it
You will always find fuel and oxygen canisters on ships (~$500 for N2 and $1-2k for O2, depending on how full they are). So never pay for fuel or oxygen at the fuel kiosk, only power. License permits have a 'read' option that tell you their expiration time, durability is NOT time remaining. The Black Market dealer rotates their stock and prices constantly, so if you don't like the price offered then go 'browse your social apps' and then come back. There is no penalty for using the entire station as your personal storage bay, stash your goods and loot until the prices are high or you are ready to build an expansion onto your ship (which you can and absolutely should do).
if your ship is out of power, the fueling station can't see how much fuel/o2 the ship has or doesn't have. So recharge first, then you'll see the fueling options
