I know it didnt mean much in the long run but when Curtis Axel won the IC Championship on Father's day thats actually one of my favorite IC title moments in the last 20 years
In my opinion the reason that Bryan vs. AJ was a clinic, is because they tapped into their Indy days where there were little to no people in the crowd. Watching matches during the pandemic, you could tell the difference between WWE home grown talent and wrestlers from the Indies.
Hello Dave, Have you done a video regarding the WCW Television Title on your channel before? That's actually my favorite championship belt from the Ted Turner era and so many great wrestlers held that underrated strap.
@@DaveKnowsWrestling Gotcha bro. I really would love to see a dedicated upload on it. I wouldn't mind purchasing a replica title of it to have in my pad. 8^)
I think if you’re going to mention single matches like AJ / Bryan or Miz / Ziggler, there should be a reason to mention the duo of ladder matches we got at Mania 31 and 32. Both were arguably the best the best match of their respective nights .
Miz himself has to be in the convo for best thing to happen to the IC title since the start of his career. Brought it back to relevance after it was relegated to PPV pre-show.
I will admit I like ladder matches less and less the older I get. But I still enjoy them from time to time. And while there have been a few that have really made a good push for the IC title. As a whole I do prefer more technical bouts for the strap. With a few exceptions of course
100% agree with you Dave! Former Heavyweight champions shouldn't compete for a midcard title. I always saw the IC Title as a stepping stone to the main event (Randy Savage, Ulimate Warrior, Bret Hart, HBK, Diesel, Austin, Rock etc.)
Gunther's reign might just be the best individual reign of all time even if he doesn't beat Honky Tonk Man's record. Constantly good matches and he's been in a position where he's elevated people he's faced.
I looked it up, and it turns out if Gunther holds the IC title past WrestleMania, he would be extremely close to beating the record for most combined days as IC champ with a single reign (he would be behind The Miz and Pedro Morales)
Macho Man, Bret, Mr Perfect (didn't win the WWF Title but likely would've had he not been forced to retire due to iniury in '91), HBK, The Rock, Stone Cold, Jericho....The IC title was definitely an amazing title that showed that some of the greats had the goods to be the World Champ
It took a while for the newer I.C. belt to grow on me but it looks good on Gunther. This reign of his will cement his legacy on this current I.C. belt design. He’ll be the first one you think of when you see a picture of just this I.C Belt several years from now.

Was that at Payback 2013? If so, then that was a good match and a good moment. There was a lot of optimism on that night.

The Mid Card Belts SHOULD be the King Maker's Belt.
NOPE!!!!! I TOTALLY agree with you Sir. This particular design of the I.C. should ALWAYS be the design of the belt.
The white strap is my favorite design but I don't hate Shinsuke's version.
My favorite title that wwe still has!
I don't know your take on ladder matches but Christian vs RVD in 2003 is a classic and one of my favorite matches in WWE.

Do one for the US title

Well in a previous IC title video I proved how that stepping stone thing isnt true. Sorry to burst that bubble
Tito Santana was supposed to be the WWF Champion at one point.

Hopefully Gunther(or Drew) brings back the old IC title design
I miss Talking Smack with Renee and Daniel Bryan

Wow thats crazy. Although its WWE. By then Miz may squeeze out another 6 reigns
@@DaveKnowsWrestling Lol probably
I want one! I already own the U.S. Championship! But soon!!
I wish Ziggler and Miz was main event that night
It would be interesting if Drew McIntyre defeats Gunter, and then goes after the World Heavyweight Championship

Gunther needs to hold the belt for anther 42 days to beat the Honky Tonk Man ... fingers crossed!!!
It's that close?
You Need to refer to your fans as "Know it All's"
The U.S. Title desperately needs this treatment!
Thank Austim Theory and Logan Paul
atleast Braun Stroman won the Universal Champion after he lost his IC Champion.
gunther’s such a bore 😂😴
The best IC title is the Oval IC held by the likes of Randy Orton and Shelton Benjamin
