They set up seungmin to lose quite easily with just how much evidence pointed to him but no one looked at the details and he was good at acting dumb with weird excuses so he slipped right through. I love that the members actually did suspect him only cuz he was acting weird, not based mostly on evidence but fans wouldn’t notice that so none of us saw it coming

When I heard that they were doing a mafia episode, I was like "Chan would be an obvious choice for the mafia" and the members have always mentioned how Chan was a good actor and can even lie in front of their faces. I was trying to think of another member who could possibly pull off something similar, so my mind naturally went to 3 other members. First candidate for me: I.N. Dude has a low-key personality, really chill, maybe a little clumsy sometimes, but don't forget he has the "maknae on top" card on him. We've had a mafia I.N before (My Pace era) and he did well, but he had someone working with him and I was thinking being the youngest and now acting alone, the other members would just force the confession out of him if they found him just a "tiny" bit sus. Next, we have Lee Know. To be honest, I REALLY, REALLY wanted to see him as a mafia going by his history of winning in all sorts of games (variety shows, etc.). Dude is obviously smart considering his unique humor and can talk himself out of anything. In the first ep, he was the dude I was sus of since he takes the conversation into weird places or inserting random comments. Later on, I found that the members said he easily gets flustered when acting and is bad at lying, so I guess a mafia Minho might have been a mess. Lastly, we have Seungminnie. Probably the second one I'd love to see as a mafia after Lee Know (he's my bias too, so why not?). Anyways, bless the producers for picking him since he fits the bill so well. He's low-key, calm, pretty smart and has his maknae privileges (thought not as pronounced as I.N lmao). He wasn't super sus at first, but later I noticed that he was just derping along the sides and not contributing much to the investigation. Yeah, he had a rough time especially at the end, but whatever. Funny since before the two episodes dropped, I was really hoping to see either him or Lee Know as the mafia. My hunch ended up right hahaha. I was thinking the production team told them to "look around the set for clues" before filming, but everyone just forgot except Chan? About the whole forgery thing, maybe the members were just "ah so he forged his license? So what, that does not prove he killed someone!". They didn't dwell much on I.N's "saving mafia from the fire" story...that would have been the best link they could get into connecting the news clipping. I'm sure some of them confused the burning building to be Dr. Cho's instead of the mafia's. Also the mafia episodes might have gone a different route if Seungmin stayed as a citizen. Check out the My Pace mafia dance they did before. Although it came later, Seungmin went full detective mode in the Buddy Catcher game. Technically he did not crack the identities of the sus dudes but he had a REALLY good idea of who to avoid. His brain has no chill and that's why I like him!
The part at 26:59 is in reference to a kthriller called Signal which is about a detective from the present who finds a walkie talkie that talks with a detective from 20 years ago and they solve crimes together over the years leading up to the present crimes on the show. :) Super good show too!
They usually give the mafia title to those members who can be calm or just good in lying, I don't think it's Felix, my bet is on Lee Know or Chan....Han is there to just make you feel like he is mafia but he is not one. There is always a guy in mafia who talks a lot and it seems like he is mafia but he is just a citizen. Edit: oh shit that was unexpected twist but still I was right for Han and Felix 😂

Seungmin because of the forged identity card in his wallet, the forged dentist license, when they mentioned owner cho disappeared after visiting the dentist office, and that he didn’t really give a reason when they all asked for a reason he wasn’t the mafia, all he said was they needed to brush their teeth. Lol. I thought, how does that even make sense of a reason other than just trying to deflect from answering the question as a distraction. I suspected of chan because of him being too quiet, always roaming around “looking for evidence”, and he just kept doing random things.
