I remember many years ago just after Sinterklaas evening (basically Christmas for us before Christmas) when a friend of mine showed me a talking doll his little sister received. Now this doll could say various lines but in order to do so you had to switch tapes that could be inserted in the back. As I was curious about what lines it could speak my friend switched a tape and then turned it on. All we got to hear was the doll making this weird mechanical buzzing sound but for some reason it was absolutely hilarious.
The children's cheer after a horrific scene of the mother gooses head being chopped off is amazing and so relevant to how children respond to violence in place of a safely "sheltered" train ride
I gave them the benefit of the doubt as long as I could. I was a fan from the beginning, but even I had my limits on how much of a decline I could take.

He apparently didn't learn from that Duff Gardens incident where he sneaked on the Barrel Roll with candy apples stuck to his feet and ended up hanging off the car in the middle of a loop.

The bit with Bart on the ride was great. For once, his misbehaving actually has consequences and teaches him a lesson. Much funnier and more satisfying than stuff he did in later seasons, where he acts like a brat and is rewarded for it.
The Tunnel moving. That's what killed me. I thought he was just going to hit his head, that would have been funny enough. But watching Bart's reaction to the tunnel becoming stuck and everything pile up in front of him as a consequence of his actions and ending up slamming his face into the crotch of robotic Paul Bunyan - that's just pure classic Simpsons.
A lot of the earlier stuff he learned lessons from it. They just decided to go all in on silly antics for everyone in the later seasons, with no repercussions.
The part with Bart and the kiddie train always gets me! In a sense, this episode is like a metaphor for the whole show - it starts off excellent, with constant hilarious joke after another, but afterwards it goes downhill pretty quickly.

It basically shows everything fans bring up when they want everyone to hate Lisa. She does have other kinds of episodes where she's more likable, but they conveniently don't remember those. Summer of 4 ft 2, also in this season, is a good example of that.
The part with the 3 bears is my most favorite. btw if anyone is wondering by any chance what episode this is, it's "Lisa The Vegetarian" from season 7.
