Thank you so much! I am a new Christian and I was living in legalism and it was exhausting. But, now I don't have to carry that burden anymore! Thank you Jesus
I’m currently fading out of Jehovah Witness Organization where legalism was rampant… kept members in fear of not being able to live up to God’s righteous standards if they miss a meeting or don’t do enough hours in the ministry. Thank you for shedding light on this.
We give thanks to God for delivering you also. I was also there. Now I am free, enjoying life in abundance as guided by the Holy Spirit daily. All Glory and Honor be unto God
Pastor Paul, I always listen to your teaching of the Word! It is really great that there are teachers like you who makes it easy for us to understand the awesomeness of God's Living and Powerful Word! May the Lord bless and keep you and your whole family in the center of His very will!!!
Such a simple yet profound and clear way to describe the law in our hearts as it should be - no more 'Thou shalt not' but 'I don't want to do that any more'! Great teaching thank you
I have been pondering about Law and Grace for 15 years , listening to famous preachers. Still, I love the Ten Commandments. Some preachers said the Ten Commandments, the Law is the ministry of death and they only teach about Grace. Other pastors balance Law and Grace. So, I got confused. After listening to this video from pastor Paul, I am clear. Yes, the law is good, but we need to be led by the guidance of the Holy Spirit who is wisdom and love. Love and wisdom are nourished by the law of God. Without Law, Love and Wisdom of God, this Universe will collapse. So, the Law is good and Holy. Grace is the favor that God gives to us so that we can keep the Law wisely, sincerely, humbly under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thank you pastor Paul.
I agree that the spring feasts find there fulfillment in Jesus, but what about the winter Feasts, aren't they yet to be fulfilled? The Feast of trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles. Sounds very last days when Chist returns. At the "trumpet" blast the dead shall rise. Then judgment and devision of the sheep and goats, where the sheep are atoned for? Then we will Tabernaclesd with Him? I was of the understanding that the Sabbath was a sign and shadow of the end of days when we will rest with him for eternity. I believe the law is relevant now, and believers are to try their best to keep it as Christ did. Otherwise what example did he set for us to follow? He taught the law of Moses on a deeper level. Our attitudes need to be more that following just the letter of the law, but capturing the spirit. We are saved by Christ through faith in him, now walk as he did. I know we can't keep it all, but we should be willing to aim our life's motivated to aim for perfection, as Christ taught us.
Either way we have to obey now it's better because we have to obey the spirit in the spirit leads us to obey the commands of Christ, and he specifically said we have to obey him if we love him he said why do you call me Lord Lord and do not do what the things that I say? Walking out our faith and obedience is one of the things that is left out of the salvation message monster the time. Jesus said our righteousness must exceed that of the scribes and the Pharisees to enter the kingdom of heaven and we can do this because now we have his spirit and his power to help us do it. We cannot be lukewarm Christians and expect me to enter the Kingdom of Heaven Jesus makes it very clear and his letter to the laodiceans. I just want to encourage all believers to walk out their faith and work out their salvation in fear and trembling. Don't believe the once saved always saved lie. We are not saved Until the End Jesus says he that endures and conquers he will give the Crown of Life. Bless you in Jesus name amen
Thank you for the "legalistic" vs "legalism" explanation which fellow Christians seem to us to attack each other with when steering an SJW church back to the true Word.
At the 7:32 time mark you say, "The law is too high a standard for us to keep perfectly. The Bible says if you fail in one aspect of the law you've failed that at all." That last sentence does not make sense. What are you trying to say? Even the rest of the comments afterward. I would also ask that closed captioning option be made available on all your videos. When you try to activate in some like this one it forwards you to an edit screen that is small and is not eye-catching. Thank you for your time.
I might be 4 years late but it’s basically like a domino. If you drop one piece, the rest of the pieces will fall with it even though you only touched one of them.
Thank you for your bible studies. But I am not getting it 100 %. We are supposed to keep the other 9 commandments. Why is keeping the sabbath legalistic, but keeping the other 9 is a must?
You're right when you say you're not getting it. Your argument is a common one but it is full of misunderstanding. First of all, we DON'T "keep" ANY of the commandments in order to be saved. That's because a person cannot be saved by keeping commandments. As Paul wrote in Galatians 3:10, "...all who rely on works of the law are under a curse." Instead, we put our FAITH in what Jesus did on the cross and THAT is how we are saved and ALSO how we uphold the Law. The Apostle wrote: "Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law." (Romans 3:31) So, Christians UPHOLD THE LAW BY FAITH - NOT by "keeping" the Law in the same way that Israel kept the Law. I would strongly encourage you to check out my study through the book of Galatians. pastorpaul.life/galatians

The law is good, but the law Giver is better. The opposite of being legalistic is not Grace per se, but being led by the Holy
Spirit.
