The only thing that worries me is the fact that people put the thumbs down to this.. what is wrong in their lives and how did it feel once it was done....job done. Hate put out there. Now I'm happy.... Who are these people? And I can't help but care!!!
Just a slight correction about drama schools, they don't eradicate your natural accent any more, in the early 60's/50'/40's and earlier they would have because it was all about speaking verse 'beautifully' and all that old rubbish but not since, they will teach you R.P. to use it, it's treated like any other accent, but your natural voice is part of your individuality and they would not tell you to lose it nowadays, which is a good thing!
Fabulous interview with you and Vicki Mclure. So honest, inspiring and relatable. My son is a young actor and I want him to listen to this to realise the reality about being an adult actor. As an ex dancer, I know it is the showing up that counts, having a helluva lot of self discipline and tenacity. Many thanks.
