Thank you for your generous spirit in offering your knowledge to others; I have only this minute discovered you so previous videos may have the answers. I lost my job and am recovering from surgery which is causing me to rethink everything and revisit dreams I never had time to pursue. THIS is one of them! I'd like to learn how to make a lotion bar without wax. Have you covered this elsewhere? Suggestions on where to go to go deep in knowledge (I have the time now--good news/bad news in job loss.) Many thanks for any guidance.

Beautiful lotion bars! I love the leaf molds you used. Very pretty. Thank You for the recipe! I hope you have an excellent time in Colorado. Although, I got to say I'm glad your suffering the cold and not me, lol!. The next 4 days here are supposed to be in the lower 60's. Which I like! I'm just not good in the cold anymore, all though I love falling snow and glistening trees!!! Jill
Great video. I used almond oil and grapeseed for the oil part, and Mango for the remaining butter portion. It came out lovely, but I felt it was a bit soft. I added 5 more wax and perfect. I only made a 1 oz batch. I have a nice little bar though. Thankyou! I will play around with shea and Mango next with these ratios. The 25 percent wax is perfect for me though. Great video, once again 👏
Thank you for this recipe! I've been watching a lot of the old videos on your channel and I had an idea...I'd love to see how you formulate the melt and pour base that you make so that other oils/butters/fats can replace some that you use. Like you did in the recipe today. Have a great trip!!
OH! This weekend my 18 year old daughter and I are trying our first CP soaps! Wish us luck! Doing a pretty basic soap recipe: 10.5 oz Babassu OIl 10.5 oz Olive Oil 10.5 oz Palm Oil 3.5 oz Caster Oil 13.3 oz Distilled H2O 5 oz NaOH Adding 2 tsp of sodium lactate and a single, gender-neutral fragrance. I may put some French Clay in it too. What amount would you recommend for that recipe? Yes, I realize that it's more than my mold can hold, but I have simple single molds too that I can fill with any excess. No wasting soap! = )
@@katelillo1932 Yeah, I'm pretty excited to try. I've been doing M&P and rebatch for a while, but really wanted to try CP. I've been watching Mrs. Soap & Clay for so long, I feel pretty confident. I initially bought small amounts of oils in case I really mess things up... but if my daughter and I enjoy it, I can always buy more oils.
Happy valentines day💕 I do love a good lotion bar. Took me awhile to embrace the concept but once I did I was hooked. I have a little octagon mold and I made some little bitty ones, put them in a little pot and it goes in my purse or hand out for friends to try. Probably about the size of a quarter. Adorable little things.
What classes did you take to learn all the ins and outs? I really want to learn how to be as precise as I can and not mess up somebody's skin. Thanks for everything you put out. I am learning so much.
This is a super video! Thank you for sharing - cause I love my own lotion bars - but always loving more education to help me improve my bars. Thank you!
Hey, thanks for the video and recipe. I'm wondering if I'd use beeswax at 20% as well. I've seen others say that candelilla is denser so less is used as compared to beeswax. Have a great vacation!
Good luck in Colorado. I'm considering opening my window at night again here though as it's starting to become a bit too warm for me at night... =P Are you getting much fog out where you are? I wake up most mornings to some fog. It's so beautiful. I'm going to be sad when we get back in to spring proper.
You are so freaking awesome. I love the realness, your voice over is great and the products Su freakin Purb thank you so much for sharing. Makes my day at work go so much faster. Wish I could be home and make this into a career 😞 I am so over this corporate bs lol at least part one work is fine.
I haven't tried making lotion bars yet, mainly because I haven't liked any that I have tried. They have all been really "draggy" on the skin. Is it actually possible to make them softer on the skin while also keeping them solid?
Hi, my question is about how to actually make a lotion bar that is not really greasy. You seem to use candalilla wax in place of beeswax. Could that be the difference between the bar being greasy to the touch. I have not tried that wax but have tried everything else you have said to do. I think I have watched your lotion bar video a dozen or more times and I still have bars that are still too greasy. Also, can you suggest a good formulation book that I might be able to troubleshoot issues. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful knowledge and time with all of us peoples. You are awesome.
Hey! Honestly it could be that lotion bars just aren’t something you’re going to enjoy. Because of their formulation, lotion bars are going to be much more moisturizing than a typical lotion that is comprised of mostly water. So if you don’t like the feel of a straight coconut oil or Shea butter on the skin, lotion bars probably are going to feel weird as well.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I've never made lotion bars before and I hate to ask stupid questions, but what, if any, is the curing time on lotion bars? Thanks!
Happy Valentines Day, MrsSC ❤️ I found a tub of bentonite clay in the “natural face care” section of the store today marketed as a face mask that you reconstitute with water (which is what I bought it for lol) but since the ingredients say it’s 100% pure bentonite clay, could I potentially use it also as a soapy additive?
Hi there! I have a question?! I have tried three times to make solid lotion bars and every time without fail they are too soft to even handle enough to package. Any suggestions on keeping them more Solid?
