I think the jester could be a good companion for the voivode, with his ability to bleed enemies allowing the voivode to stay in strigoi longer since he won't need to reaply it himself and the stress management that could allow you to keep him at high stress without risking an affliction check
The Voivode and the Succubus are perfect for playing around the marks, this could be exploited using a Bounty Hunter and an Occultist or an Arbalist, since they both heal and use Mark, just imagine spamming Colect Bounty and Finish Him on stunned enemies by those two evil entities
Fun fact: the bat is the animal that is the closest to have “true 3d”. With is echolocation he can see trough multiple surfaces but at short range. True 3d would be where we see the world today but we can see trough surfaces at any range so obviously it’s impossible. Why did I say this you ask? Because I taught of that almost trough out the video and felt like sharing it.

Its like we don’t see all the colours, we see them but our retina miss the “ultra-violet” part so in example a bee will see patterns on certain flowers because they have them but we wont see that because our eyes cant detect them. In big it isn’t the “true” potential but we have the basic 3d. It is a old article I read so maybe I am not that clear and this article wasn’t in English so it is the worst combination possible. But that gets too theoric (reason why i just speaked about the ultra-violet). The 3d that im talking about is impossible to see fully but its basic 3d in a way. You know that there is something after a wall but you cant see it. It exist. So we see in 3d but we dont see all the things at the same time is what i mean. We do not see everything in our world because most of the time its blocked by and object so you dont have the 100%. Lets say a human sees 50% of everything. A bat see 75% of everything around him with echolocation. So we dont see all. Repkace the time i said true with full like I said earlier. When i say that it means we dont see everything and the full 3d you can see everything. Think like in video game and 3d animation: wireframes. It isnt full 3d were we can see everything but we cant either way it defise logic and light. Compared to us bats doesnt use light to see object but sound so they are the closest.

His skills fit his real and in game lore allmost 100%. Fun fact Voivode (voievod in romanian) means ruler, army commandant and baron. Only those with a high power were allowed this title. In Croatia ( istria), we call vampires štriga or štrigun, which has roots in roman languages, such as yours (strigoi) But we also have Vukodlak, which could also be a vampir, even though the name means " wolf's furr/hair.
I've been on the fence about this mod ever since I saw it at the top of the Workshop's most popular mods list some months ago. I figured since it's stayed at the top ever since, and with all the comments in previous videos requesting that this class be featured, I figured you'd get around to it eventually. And after having seen the video, yeah, I'll be giving this class a whirl. Couple added thoughts for time: - CC/CoM Trinkets are included with this mod and are great in combination with Darkspawn! - Darkbrood/Darkspawn is removable with camping/treatment, Darkspawn Frenzy is not, but "Frenzy" drops off in a week. - The Echolocate ability uses scale with level so its usable up to 3 times at lvl 5. - If you didn't catch it, + stress & +"healing received" trinkets would have strong effects on the VV, but do check out his own trinkets and see what you can come up with! Damage scaling with HP on Soulfeast: "The base dmg is dependent on the health of the voivode. At 50 % hp it has normal base dmg, above 50 he gets +10% dmg with each 10% remaining max hp, below 50% he looses 10% dmg for each 10% max hp lost. Since he feasts upon the souls (and not the body) of the enemies, the ability ignores physical protection. It has very low base acc. The accuracy of this ability is shifted to the echolocation skill, which is limited. This is a way to prevent spamming and encourage the player to carefully pick targets with the echo."

But it looks like it'll be handiest against the Flesh varieties. Voivode _Echolocate_ and _Soul Feast_ + Houndmaster _Hound's Harry_ and _Rush_ + Falconer/Arbalest/Musketeer ranged moves + Bounty Hunter _Collect Bounty_/Sisters _Trespass_ = a joke of a boss fight.

We need a hemomancer with high bleed damage and resistance, draining blood from enemies to heal over time and deal bonus damage towards bleeding enemies.

Cant stop myself from deleting near complete runs only to start the campaign anew. I never even saw the final boss once. Recently started adding mods, but not many. I think I'm going to skip my Voievod (thats its actual name). I like the character concept but I dislike its crimson-curse-like mechanic, which I also hate and never install. Great video. I'll browse some more of yours.

I've found pairing with the Succubus particularly effective as if the Voivode can outspeed her, he can perform a full (or most) enemy party mark with echolocate, which when combined with demonic leeching will get a full stun on the enemy party
I just got back into darkest dungeon and modded classes made the game so much fun my favorite class is the sisters. I hope to tune in to a stream soon keep up the good work 👍.
Now I know how to use this class right. As much as I want to experiment with this class, I rather not have to struggle with "OH GOD! HOW DOES THIS CLASS WORK! Thank you for doing these, looking forward to the Succubus. I don't know if you take requests, but I've played a lot of the mod classes and my favorite is the Acolyte of the Sun. Very versatile, has an interesting transfer mechanic, and can fill a dps/offheal role (I did a complete court run with AotS/Vestal/Jester/Slayer). I would really like to see your take on her.

Forgot to ask, does Darkbrood/Darkspawn take precedence over the Crimson Curse like how the Curse does with regular diseases? Or is it vice versa? Or are they equal- that is, if you have one, you can't get the other? Depending on how it works, you could possibly use the Voivode's vampirism as a way to shield your heroes from the Courtyard's thirst curse. Speaking of, since this mod adds intentional vampirism as a mechanic, have the modders considered integrating that with The Blood item, and the CC's Fanatic encounter triggers?

I intially thought "bram stokers" but the character model in human form looks a lot like vlad the impaler. (he was supposed to be the main inspiration behind dracula... or at least that's the official story anyway)

i just wanted to say that some info from this vid is slightly outdated as most of voidvode ability no longer deal stress to himself (even his ripsote) soul feast is also somewhat tweaked
IMHO he need a better way to clear stress from himself. Cuz right now he need a dedicated babysitter for this, and dont bring too much for this trade. Look for example on Abom - yes, it is wise to bring stress heal with him. But you actually can run without it - he deal MUCH less transformation stress, and in human form even heal both stress and hp. And he much better as DD - he hit like a truck without all this mambo-jumbo with skill combos, just point and click. Voivode slightly better in human for, but god oh god he build stress like crazy. AND Abom dont have any restrictions - he good with any party with any situation. Voivode just borderline useless (and his vampire fellows too) in "permanent torch" type of dungeon. Also if you use abomination transformation every fight and in this case need to bring stress heal - this stress healer have much less work, he can heal over party members, he can freely use any over skills. With Voivode he stick to him. Same problem with Thrall class mod btw. Great idea and i really love this concept, but right now he too weak for my taste. I dont want him to be too powerful, but this stress build mechanic build stress on me faster than on Voivode.
Yep! Hooded Lay has asked me to wait until she's finished the comic strip, but it's definitely on the list next to the Succubus, and more of S-Purple's classes :)
I think voivode's human skill is totally useless. Flock of bats is low acc, little bleed and mark sync is likely non exist. Obey is kind of ok but acc and stun rate is too low to make it useful. Shadowplay may be look good but eat torch every time its used so it only useful in crimson court and farmstead not to mention it kill the purpose of stealth when guarding your teammate. His monster form is mor useful but echolocation is too weak with mark 1 turn which almost useless since voivode must fall back to make his mark have effect. Darkspawn is an interesting concept and might be useful if you don't want to invest you gold to torch and it might useful combine with torchless trinket like Shrieker or torchless perks like lurker. But it not null all drawback from monster crit bonus decrease trap disarm to noting or massive stress damage when the torch is low. Not to mention you might to fight Shambler in torchless run. Lastly the darkspawn effect is a desease type buff so it will be all for nothing if you upgrade your sanitarium to cure multiple desease at once. If you darkspawn is desease something in warren it migh be a chance your nurse will cure darkspawn effect unintentionally. Overall this class might be a good class in early game when you money is short and on paper, useful in torchless maps like courtyard and farmstead. But voivode can't keep up the other classes when the game progress render him in minimum use in late game.
The main point of DD has always been "flawed human heroes against eldritch horrors". With so many monsters among the mod classes, one wonder if it is still the case.
But vampires in DD are crimson court style bugs, not bats. It kind of goes against established lore. I would like it better if he was based around the counts in the crimson court, and transformed into a giant bug like they do.
The voivode is another species of vampire or creature different from the bloodsuckers of the game. It does not feed on blood, but on souls, it has a different origin and its potential is based on classic characteristics of vampires that the game does not exploit, such as aversion to light or control of nocturnal animals. Thus, the mod fully respects the background of the game and flows with it without generating any conflict.
Lore wise multiple eldritch beings clearly exist. Heart of Darkness Whoever/Whatever the entity the vestal prays too The comet from CoM Perhaps a being for the crimson curse itself It honestly would be weird if another area of the world (romania) _wouldnt_ have some other type of being.

I think transformation and riposte are used way too much in class mods. I think egzorcist is the only character without those mechanics and that's why he is so interesting.
I think isnt that big problem with transforming classes, most overused skill is camp prevent ambush anyway :v Exo looks good and is simple, too simple to me.
this guy is way too op for the vanilla game as long as you have members with forward attack or even forward attack+riposte(highwayman) that shuffle him back, so he always has his overpowered attack+heal. but perfectly balanced against the falconers talon brigands or spider nests, where vanilla characters are way too weak.
A strigoi with hemophilia...that seems inconvenient.

He is. He can catch it via contagion in a facility, but will get rid of it as soon as he goes out in an expedition.
Same goes for those with Darkspawn?
I have to check it, but since the game treats Darkspawns as a standard disease, I think CC overrides it

Wait- once a character's a Darkspawn, there's no way to get rid of it?!
@@MistuhRobe Okay, Carnifex confirmed that you can easily remove Darkspawn but not Darkspawn Frenzy. However, Frenzy is removed after a week. :)

Thank you for doing these, looking forward to the Succubus. I don't know if you take requests, but I've played a lot of the mod classes and my favorite is the Acolyte of the Sun. Very versatile, has an interesting transfer mechanic, and can fill a dps/offheal role (I did a complete court run with AotS/Vestal/Jester/Slayer). I would really like to see your take on her.

If you're thinking about doing torchless runs, or playing with the VV or Abom very much, then it's worth considering as they gain quite a bit of bonuses and lest stress damage taken from things like transformation. :)
Forgot to ask, does Darkbrood/Darkspawn take precedence over the Crimson Curse like how the Curse does with regular diseases? Or is it vice versa? Or are they equal- that is, if you have one, you can't get the other? Depending on how it works, you could possibly use the Voivode's vampirism as a way to shield your heroes from the Courtyard's thirst curse.
Speaking of, since this mod adds intentional vampirism as a mechanic, have the modders considered integrating that with The Blood item, and the CC's Fanatic encounter triggers?

yeah I'm gonna make some thralls (that's what they're called in the warhammer universe. in this instance though it's when a vampire feeds on you, it creates a connection to the vampire and they essentially become their servants. these are known as "thralls")

i have this feeling most of mod classes i play are somehow op or not balanced in terms of gameplay
I intially thought "bram stokers" but the character model in human form looks a lot like vlad the impaler. (he was supposed to be the main inspiration behind dracula... or at least that's the official story anyway)

i just wanted to say that some info from this vid is slightly outdated as most of voidvode ability no longer deal stress to himself (even his ripsote) soul feast is also somewhat tweaked

IMHO he need a better way to clear stress from himself. Cuz right now he need a dedicated babysitter for this, and dont bring too much for this trade.
Look for example on Abom - yes, it is wise to bring stress heal with him. But you actually can run without it - he deal MUCH less transformation stress, and in human form even heal both stress and hp. And he much better as DD - he hit like a truck without all this mambo-jumbo with skill combos, just point and click. Voivode slightly better in human for, but god oh god he build stress like crazy.
AND Abom dont have any restrictions - he good with any party with any situation. Voivode just borderline useless (and his vampire fellows too) in "permanent torch" type of dungeon.
Also if you use abomination transformation every fight and in this case need to bring stress heal - this stress healer have much less work, he can heal over party members, he can freely use any over skills. With Voivode he stick to him. Same problem with Thrall class mod btw.
Great idea and i really love this concept, but right now he too weak for my taste. I dont want him to be too powerful, but this stress build mechanic build stress on me faster than on Voivode.

Yep! Hooded Lay has asked me to wait until she's finished the comic strip, but it's definitely on the list next to the Succubus, and more of S-Purple's classes :)

I think voivode's human skill is totally useless. Flock of bats is low acc, little bleed and mark sync is likely non exist. Obey is kind of ok but acc and stun rate is too low to make it useful. Shadowplay may be look good but eat torch every time its used so it only useful in crimson court and farmstead not to mention it kill the purpose of stealth when guarding your teammate. His monster form is mor useful but echolocation is too weak with mark 1 turn which almost useless since voivode must fall back to make his mark have effect. Darkspawn is an interesting concept and might be useful if you don't want to invest you gold to torch and it might useful combine with torchless trinket like Shrieker or torchless perks like lurker. But it not null all drawback from monster crit bonus decrease trap disarm to noting or massive stress damage when the torch is low. Not to mention you might to fight Shambler in torchless run. Lastly the darkspawn effect is a desease type buff so it will be all for nothing if you upgrade your sanitarium to cure multiple desease at once. If you darkspawn is desease something in warren it migh be a chance your nurse will cure darkspawn effect unintentionally.
Overall this class might be a good class in early game when you money is short and on paper, useful in torchless maps like courtyard and farmstead. But voivode can't keep up the other classes when the game progress render him in minimum use in late game.

But vampires in DD are crimson court style bugs, not bats. It kind of goes against established lore. I would like it better if he was based around the counts in the crimson court, and transformed into a giant bug like they do.
The voivode is another species of vampire or creature different from the bloodsuckers of the game. It does not feed on blood, but on souls, it has a different origin and its potential is based on classic characteristics of vampires that the game does not exploit, such as aversion to light or control of nocturnal animals.
Thus, the mod fully respects the background of the game and flows with it without generating any conflict.
Lore wise multiple eldritch beings clearly exist.

I think transformation and riposte are used way too much in class mods. I think egzorcist is the only character without those mechanics and that's why he is so interesting.

this guy is way too op for the vanilla game as long as you have members with forward attack or even forward attack+riposte(highwayman) that shuffle him back, so he always has his overpowered attack+heal.
but perfectly balanced against the falconers talon brigands or spider nests, where vanilla characters are way too weak.
