  • Tyler Sladen has his version of falconry. With his bird dogs in tow and his goshawk named Hasbrown. They venture across the landscape of New Mexico in search of Southwestern quail. Originally from Massachusetts, Sladen found his love for falconry after coming home from the service. This is a story of three species coming together to coordinate in the pursuit of upland game.

As a falconer, I look at Tyler as the quintessential falconer at the highest level incorporating Supreme dog work along with impeccable falconry techniques. Bravo!

Falconry honestly is the perfect example of someone that hates it doesn't understand it. The fact that Falconers free their birds once their adults. After all the training and hunting they've been through is amazing and heart breaking. But knowing the bird freed have a much higher kill rate is amazing. For those that do Falconry, have you ever been visited by birds that you've let loose?

I know a guy who hunts with a male peregrin wich lives free during the day, he comes back in the evening and sleeps in the house. the falconer checks the weight and feeds the Bird in case he wasent sucesful during the day.

Wow Tyler, this video was expertly gone. From start to finish, I was amazed. I knew you were an interesting person, from hearing stories told to me by my son Anthony and watching your hawking videos, but this video verifies that.
Thanks for being a great ambassador of "The Sport of Falconry." OSH :-)

Ty you are awesome man. I really look up to you. I’m about to trap my second red tail for mostly squirrel hawking. I also do a lot of upland hunting with my shorthair. I want to get a Cooper’s hawk and hunt quail with the bird and the dog together. I love seeing all your hunts and stuff on social media and hopefully I’ll be able to do something like it someday.
