I say it time and time again. Mogwai is the greatest band on earth.
This transcends guitar rock. A band which scores great movies and is now global. To me, I listen to this and I see a flickering series of images of the happiest and saddest moments of your life: people who have lived and died, the moments that define who you are...an emotional epic for some future movie, like yours or mine...
I literally only came to the comments to see if something like this had been posted. I get a full mental image of so many good and bad memories and it plays like a movie to this song. I've never experienced any other band or song that can do what this song does

yeah those three in a row are my favorite. i may even start from Fuck Off Money and make it 4 in a row. Other songs are growing on me.
Yeah I love the 1st few. Think it takes a bit of a dip after Richie Sacramento but finishes beautifully.

Same here, skipping the first few (a little too pop for me) and listen after Ceiling Granny. Midnight Flit is definitely something else... I hope they evolve the sound more in that direction, the violin on the track is beautiful.
Dude, you aren't kidding. To me, once you get to the song "drive the nail" the album just hits another gear altogether.

@@coryleblanc , me too man. Mogwai can get their moneys worth out of a chord that's for sure. One of my favs is like 2 riffs, End off of the ten rapid album. I dug their pace is what got me. It felt like they were trying to get me to slow down and weren't bombarding me with thoughts, just space to think in. I heard someone call them the Kings of postrock and to me they really are. They got the crown and I don't see them losing it considering how many solid albums they've pulled out of it.
