Awesome video! You guys are doing such a great job, cleaning and protecting the reef life as you go... Tristan! Looks like you are a decent fisherman... how good were those tuna? Did you have sashimi? Lime juice, green onions and cilantro (coriander for you guys) makes a quick and easy ceviche, btw. Sage, I'm actually a friend of your Dad, and Tristan, but think your videos are great and getting better.. We met a few times at the Bruns for a show when you were like 17. One question: How is it possible that two years at sea and you have never caught, filleted, or eaten a fish til now? That boggles the mind! Glad you have done it now. Keep up the great (and important) work. I'm subbed. Oh, and I'm a sailor without a boat/ lol/

Great tribe on board that vessel ! So glad you captured all that footage to share around the reality of fishing and showing respect and gratitude when you do take a life. Love the water skiing shots - especially that one where Deano is losing his shorts 😂

Love how you use your own music as backing tracks for your vids. Really loving the content. Can’t believe you ran out of Tofu!..lol. Nothing like fresh fish cooked the same day. Pretty good substitute I reckon.

    G'day Crew,, (Sage)
What better than to be in the sun ,having a cool relaxing time with the family.
Mega cool that your still bringing the enviromental message,, and also the theme of eating lite & eating right .
I for one 100% agree with you about over fishing our oceans ,,so many of our sea & river fish are exploited and facing extinction.
The problem of drift nets, drag nets, ghost nets &
longlines raping & polluting our oceans is an issue that like plastic needs to be made enemy number one , so it can be dealt with by governments and individuals alike ..
Keep bringing that enviromental message ..
    Go Sage ...!!!

I have alot in this life to apologize for but what I can't apologize for is my consumption of meat for sustenance. We don't consider the orca evil for consuming seals and baby sperm whale tongues and shark livers. We don't consider the lion pride evil for mowing down prey and then eating them from the asshole first while they are still alive. So man cannot be considered evil for eating meat either. But what we do have to account for is how we treat our livestock and what quality of life we disallow them. That's what's got to change. The animals we consume for food should have the best quality of life and are slaughtered mercifully and with gratitude. The meat industry is cruel and evil because of greed and that is what we have to apologize for as a species and make it right.

We’re a lot more intelligent than other animals we don’t need it to survive by farming and killing animals that are born into a slaughterhouse. Nothing natural about going to a supermarket and buying meat. Also if you treat them nice doesn’t justify killing them.

@@nazsic3503 you have your opinion and I have mine. Fact is, man has been eating animal flesh since before written history and our evolution is based on being an omnivore. And I doubt that will change anytime soon! But we do need to raise awareness of humane husbandry and slaughter.

    • @Sircraig7963

Some very valid pionts here , and its true mans evolution has surged since he became able to farm and consume .If he still had to catch his food ,man would not be so greedy .
So tbe issues realy are over production and consumption of food .
Fortunatily ,,the larger part of the world still live by subsidence farming .
Its time all governments and populations ,down to the individual start to consider the MEGA over fishing of the worlds oceans ,and the deforistation for meat production ..
We are all contributing to the problem ,,,as should we all be contributing to the solution.
      Eat right ,,eat lite .
Thanks to the others for their intelligent comment .
      THIS CHANNEL ROCKS ,,,
Keep bringing that enviromental message ,,

Humans had slaves for most of human history so that justifys it? old boomer mind just so out of touch no disrespect

    • @greggtilghman6349
      @greggtilghman6349 3 роки тому

@@nazsic3503 you lift the human race above the animals but yet you ignore some very key points, we still wage war, we still engage in slavery even today, we still engage in pedophilia, we're still endangering the atmosphere we need for a very survival and you have the nerve to put us above the animals? We're beneath the animals, at least the achieve stasis.
We felt the same way you do now as kids, the older generations ruined the world for us. Our parents had more money than us, had more stuff than us, lived the dream more than us. We tried to change things but there was one thing standing on our way, Republicans kept being raised. Hopefully, the party continues to shrink and someday we are able to overpower them. But the greed of the wealthy is protected by one party as we saw with Trump, Obama made great strides in pollution control, Trump came and stripped it, now Biden has restored Obama's plans. You're going to learn the hard way just as we did. Despite your best intentions, there are going to be those that stand in your way. So you might want to curb your arrogance some, it's very unbecoming.

Funny how you guys try and justify killing fish. So it's okay for you to kill a fish for dinner (provided you say a little prayer to the Fish God), but the fisherman who catch fish for others (who don't have the luxury of owning a yacht and being eco-warriors) are evil. Sure there are commercial fishermen who are plundering the oceans resources and should be stopped...but how can you justify the sole fisherman who has a boat, hires some crew, and goes out in his local waters to catch fish for a living? You guys reek of hypocrisy. You can't call yourself a vegetarian and eat fish. You can take out heaps of dried chickpeas, which are a fantastic source of protein, out on voyages without having to kill fish. But you can't be going out to sea protecting whales & marine life and then go and murder a fish with a spear or a hook. Get off the fence and stand up for something...at the moment you're like saying; "I'm half pregnant"!!!!!

    • @Sircraig7963
      @Sircraig7963 3 роки тому

Good comment, aside from the emotive stuff ,lile a half pregnant argument, also to say get off the fence is denying the fact that people have already made comment .
Sadly todays fishing industry has almost no place for owner opperators ,our goverments have made a system of licensing where the small opperatpr who generally cares for his patch is bought out by larger companies , cooperatives ,mulit nationals and conglomerates, who can bid for shares in licences effectivly out bidding the local opperator who often was a generational fisherman and truly loved his local waters .
The issue of overfishing is complex , allowing for factory ships supported by many trawlers to enter an area under licence and absolutely decimate and plunder the area with huge nets and longlines that basically rape and pollute waters as the lines and nets are cast aside if caught up ,in ready for the next net .
A small fisherman cant afford to leave a net lor line .
Moreover fish farming is also a big problem ,where the pressure to use banned chemicals is pushed onto smaller nations who will allow ot for profit . Again goverments greed has led to dominate the worldwide industry selling every part of a fish from flesh to bones into fishfingers cat kibbles or fertiliser, with no end in sight .
During the war years ,ocean were mined so heavily that fishing was to dangerous ,and thus it largely stopped ,,, IN THESE FEW YEARS OF 1941 TO 1945,,,,world wide fish stocks went from DEPLETED to Largest catch and sizes recorded .
Our oceans need a break from the strain of over fishing ,,
      Its time for change .
The future for fish like tuna ,cod ,halibut, sturgon , turtles ,and many others is to face extinction ,,like tigers and rhino.
Very soon , it will be to late for argument ..
      It time for change .
