I have been going to Magic Mountain since the late 70's. The iconic sounds the lift hill, & the classic roar of the trains means only one thing. Revolution is about to do a fly by. One of my favorite rides in the park!

I still remember seeing this for the first time in the movie "Roller Coaster," in "sen-surround!" The first steel coaster to have a vertical loop. Awesome! I still have yet to ride it too, hehe.

*Michael Lambert* YYYAAASSS ❣ I was just thinking about that movie when I clicked on this video. Still one of my favorite movies. I have never been on The Revolution but I truly hope I can one day. It is such an iconic piece of machinery.

Its definitely worth getting to Magic Mountain to ride it. I've always been a fan of looping coasters built by Anton Schwarzkopf. This one is beautiful to look at as well as to ride it. Graceful white steel track over the forested hillsides at Magic Mountain. The only negative is the two trim brakes that slow it down,...the first brake being at the top of the hill before the loop,...and then the second brakes immediately after the tunnel. It kind of castrates the intensity of the final 3rd of the ride. But overall still a fantastic ride. Those Schwarzkopf vertical loops are much more circular and really plaster your body down into your seat. Plus, NO shoulder harnesses,...so you can enjoy the entire ride hands up, and no head battering. The original wheel configuration back in 1976 used a two-point system. So the friction was a bit higher. You can see it when you watch the movie "Rollercoaster",...the cars really slow down at the tops of all the hills. Some years later (probably in the early 1990's) they changed the wheels to a 3-point system, which drastically reduced the friction levels. It was around this same time that they used the trim brakes,..likely realizing that the cars where now flying FAST through the last half of the ride. The new wheels on the ride (since 2016) are silent. The old wheels made a loud ROAR sound that you could hear all over the front area of the park. Now the trains are virtually silent as they whoosh through the layout. GREAT ride though. And a Southern California Landmark in my opinion!

A more appropriate ride for people who wanna get into looping coaster such as Tatsu, Viper, Riddler Revenge, Batman, Scream,X2, and Full Throttle.

it looks way more dangerous with lap bars at least they should put a comfort collar in it just like Tempesto at busch gardens williamsburg. Because they are giving it a new refurbishment
