Freyja has been part of my recovery journey from drug/alcohol abuse. If someone would have told me just over three years ago that I would be practicing witchcraft, reading tarot, and offering prayers to a Norse Goddess, I would have told you that you were insane. As a man, I find it hard to articulate my relationship with her. However, I am thankful that she chose me. According to Norse mythology, her chariot is pulled by cats and she is the commander of the Valkyries. It is her and not Odin that gets first pick of all slain warriors. I have a cat depicted on the back of my book of shadows. Makes me think of her. I am a former police officer with PTSD. Strangely, I was baptized Catholic and educated by Jesuits (“God’s Marines). My life has improved and continues to improve as my spiritual journey has progressed. Blessed be.
Freya has been my matron mother for many years. I adore her. I also believe that everything happens for a reason. There is a reason that she called you to her. And yes, Freya loves her cats. Her and Odin split up the dead. I know that she has a soft heart for people that have been abused or have struggled with some kind of addiction. It is not by chance that she chose you. Keep following your path. And don't let anybody tell you how your path should be followed. Freya is absolutely amazing. She is full of love. She is full of wisdom. She will guide you in the right direction. All you have to do is listen. She is an beautiful fierce energy to work with. I love her to the moon and back. Hail Freya mother of the Valkries!!!
That’s incredible. So Freya took you out of the church/religion, out of police indoctrination which let’s be honest, that’s a snare too. And through spirituality your life has improved tremendously and got you off not just alcohol but drugs too. So much for the 12 step program right? Contrast spirituality with religion and you get two diametrically opposed systems. Religion, in Latin means “to reel in” or something similar to that. Nothing like spirituality in any regard. I myself made a promise to Freya that I won’t buy any more cigarettes for a month. And I intend to keep it. One would not want to incur the wrath of the Goddess.
O and, from what I’ve seen, before the Vanir and Aesir war, Freya was travelling in Asgard, providing sorceress services. And she eventually was called upon to be seized and killed. So they ganged up on her, and with whatever special weapons they have, speared her to death I think it was and burned her body. And she “died” but in short time she walks back out of the flames. So they did it again. And again. 3 times they killed her, 3 times she walks out of the flames and dusts herself off like “what? That’s it?” And that’s basically what caused the war to begin is when she left after that attack. They wouldn’t let it slide and attacked Vanaheim, both sides being relatively equal, Vanaheim the Vanir dominating the beginning of the war for quite a while. And when they both decided that if they continued this war, they would both end up destroying each other, they called a truce. And there was no “captives or concubines” there was a mutually agreed upon trade. And Freya not become Odins concubine. Their relationship was strictly between the relegation of souls to either Asgard or Sessrumnir, where Freyas hall is in Folkvangr. The relegation of souls and ‘the great FRIENDSHIP between the two’ because Freya is not Frigg and Frigg is not Freya. 12 Nights of Yule, Mothers Night, makes that abundantly clear. Not to mention it was Freya, whom learned how to create Runes. She made them, and basically changed Odin/Wodens fate by manipulating the Triple Goddess with her Seidr Magic. “The most terrifyingly powerful form of sorcery” so then Woden learns them. But GoW Ragnarok, would have us buying another story.

This is so powerfully beautiful ❤ I’ve been feeling more drawn to working with Freyja of late after connecting with Hecate led me to her. Music has always spoken deeply to me, and this among other Freyja music has been deeply connecting with me at this point in my spiritual journey ❤️❤️
The sparse arrangement and whistling wind give a sense of isolation. But the voice carried on those winds has a majestic quality that says, "I have power even here, in this howling wilderness". As a result, the isolation is a comforting one, rather than frightening.

But oddly enough since that day i have found myself being drawn to worshipping her. I dont own a shrine of her but yet my fingers type up the kinds of gifts and stuff that would please her. I cant help but want to build a shrine to her in my house. I feel like now that i said that. Shes calling me almost like a small nagging in my mind. I dont think shes mad more like telling me that it was no accident i said it. That i should follow where this leads. I want to know her.
