Here in Africa we just jump into marriages and have kids we do not plan and leave everything to God and we wonder why poverty is so high in Africa. Marriage, when cultures mix, must understand FIRST AND FOREMOST the differences in thine own cultures. There will always be a STRUCTURED DIFFERENCE IN CULTURES. Hola Rocio, it will be very interesting to see the development of a relationship that has to do with 2 very different cultures coming together, because we cannot deny that our cultures have also contributed to our identity or likes and dislikes. Something that is no problem in one culture, can be a problem in a different culture.
I guess, the only solution will be to reach a balance where each is trying to adjust to the other, without feeling that they are giving up the integrity of who they are or their purpose in life.
For example, if Marwa would not mind polygamy, but for you it's important to be monogamous, then Marwa will have to adjust. And If for Marwa it's important to have many kids, but you want to also have an artistic life, then you will have to adjust and find a way to be both a housewife and an artist.
I will try to follow this development to see what I can learn from it.
