- In this video Brandon has removed a fuel pump from a 2008 Triumph Daytona 675 for thorough cleaning. The motorcycle was in storage for about a year and a half, allowing the fuel in the tank to go bad. Brandon provides a few tips for disassembly, and cleaning. He also talks about the treatment for the fuel tank.
Thanks for that o ring tip
Very informative
I recently pulled my 2007 675 out of storage and noticed my fuel tank to be rusted and have bad fuel in it. After watching some videos I found that your video is spot on to what I need to do. How would you recommend cleaning my tank? Did you use just ospho? I heard you say something about Muriatic acid. Also do I need to take the fuel pump apart and clean it? I assume that I might as well since I have it removed. What did you use to clean the pump out? Did you use break cleaner or something? Looking forward to your follow up video. Thanks.
Thanks for doing this video: might have answered my problem as I did a pull apart and tank clean - like you it was rusty from sitting for ages.. But when I pulled the pump apart and put it back - was leaking out fuel when normally just a little bit comes out. So the tip about the o ring being on the wrong side of the two assemblies looks like one to try..
Bit of a stupid design that it doesn't seat back down properly. Will try and see if that fixes the issue.. anyhow thanks! How did you end up going with the rust issue anyhow? Maybe it's not a big deal with that screen keeping the worst out? I wonder if all fuel tanks have a bit of gunk at the bottom and it's not a big deal 99% of the time?
Did the rust ever return after you filled the tank with gas…?
Hello 👋
Thanks for video ıts very helpful.
I have a problem with 675 2016
I need your advise about it. Can ı send you video to show it.
Hi there. I would be happy to review the video and will certainly help if I can.
@@brandonr9922 can you give me your mail adress please ?
@@brandonr9922 can I have your mail adress?
The 675 does have a fuel filter... in inside the unit which is sealed. So, you can't clean it other than back flushing.
Nice video, is there any other fuel pump can competible daytona 675 2007 example r6
I’m not sure about a compatible unit. Triumph675 is a good resource. I bet someone there has a list of compatible parts.
@@brandonr1528 thanks for the answers but i have one more question sorry if u want to answer ofcourse;) i want to remove the gas tank can do that as tank is full fuel or shoud i do enpty first?
Hi bomfunker, I will usually siphon most of the fuel out of the tank prior to removal. Makes it a lot easier to remove the tank without damaging anything - especially if working alone. Good luck.
Any updates on how the tank is doing with no sealant?
I regret the late response. I just inspected the tank this past weekend and can not discern any change. Seems to be good thus far.
Bro quit talking and actually work on something
Lol. Right on. Thanks for watching, regardless.
Just trying to help seriously I'm working on one myself and there's no videos that I can find and the ones I do they mostly just talk about it instead of showing you. Make more vids man you got it
