Awesome share. Thanks for your active extensive review. You've answered multiple questions I had regarding both products.
Orange: can’t get it to open/unlock under water, changes from photo to video to locked on its own, not able to start recording and then go below water, opened other apps on its own, water spots (major issue for recording, super blurry), not possible to zoom in, glitches deeper than 15ft, photo button gets stuck so it’ll start recording. The black one didn’t have any of those issues. Only thing the orange one is doing better than the expensive one is a better quality selfie (they have the same quality in front facing though) and Siri can hear you (and both of these points are because it’s very thin material protection, less layers protecting your phone).
The product instructions indicated not to use gestures and swiping for your phones in the case. You need to turn on the accessibility shortcut for it to work.
Thanks for this video! Great info! Have you ever tested waterproof regular phone cases? Like ones that you can keep on your phone throughout the day. Are most of the “waterproof” phone cases just good to protect the phone if it drops in water for a while but not to take underwater photos/vid?

This video just convinced me to get an actual submersible camera instead. I recently lost a bunch of stuff due to seawater getting into my phone and short-circuiting it. Not even good for parts they told me at repair.
Just gonna keep my phone in the cheap silicone cases, inside my backpack at the shore. And bring some off-brand gopro to the water.
Spray your whole case in crep protect(shoe protector) or use oil just on the back where the camera is, the water will repel when u come out of the water
I actually wanted to buy a GoPro 10 or a waterproof phone case. Definitely Gopro 10 thanks for your videos. Mobilfone and GoPro camera perspective were very good.
can you turn up the touchscreen sensitivity for the iPhone in the settings.. you can do it on an android phone to make the touchscreen better when it's in a case

Meanwhile I just used a pouch to take pics in hawaii while I was underwater. 😂 literally a pink pouch you would probably wear on a water ride in Disneyland. Worked well!

What would happen if you stuck a large/thin O ring on the bottom screen side of the phone? I wonder if that would keep the screen off the phone enough to enable touch sensitivity? I just ordered one of these so I’ll try it on my next Oahu trip.

The case worked great I’ve used it on quite a few different trips at this point. I’ve never had a problem with it leaking, but the O-ring trick did not work. You still have to surface to change anything on the touchscreen. the button that activates the shutter via the volume down button on the iPhone works perfect. I just wish there were a way to trigger the shutter from the end of a selfie stick. Bluetooth doesn’t work underwater and I have yet to find a threaded button for a remote shutter in any phone case

@@MilitaryProductions I got the Fansteck Diving Phone Case (the orange one) My wife got the same thing with blue accents. Been on a half dozen more trips with it and it is still working great. Like anything in salt water, I rinse it in fresh water after every use.

The button from the aicase doesn’t wort with the iPhone 13 pro, because the iPhone buttons are few millimeters lower placed…
If you’re on the camera app you won’t be able to open Siri that way.

Shellbox made a Generation 2 Waterproof case. It's much better and fits a ln iPhone 13 pro max i got mine for $23 bucks and i will never by a case that's $150.00 it's just too much and the phones changes models every year. so the case will be obsolete. Thanks for the vid

3 Years late but this still applies: you can't use capacitive screens in any case reliably underwater. Try using your phone in the shower, the water drops will behave like your finger and cause the phone to do random things... like open your email. This isn't the fault of the case, it's the nature of the tech and the shortcomings of it being used in an environment where it wasn't meant to be used. That's why you need to have your phone in always on mode and use the buttons to control the camera -- that's what they are for!
