@@Markwildcamp we might have bigger mountains here and a better social care system and a better welfare system .... but i used to live in the UK and i lived in other countries to and nothing comes even close to being like your island and it does have one things that is better then anywhere else that sort of makes it ..... its people .....i don't love the politics or even parts of its history but the culture and the people are better than anywhere else
@@Markwildcamp I was on my way to the Schill from the Pennine way but bottled it about 3 mile short coming from the North as was worried my cloud peak 2 would have stood up to the gusts. Ended up a bit lower but had s great night.
That looked great fun Mark. Is there anything better than hunkering down cosy in a tent while the rain and wind lash down? Proper good grub that looked like as well. Never been up the Schil, looks an interesting summit. I always get a permit lol but I’m getting on a bit 😂. Great vid 👍
The schil is a cracking spot and you can usually get a sheltered spot out of the wind, first time we've used the permit and I don't think it will be the last🤣

Do you ever pick a spot then when you get there, people are already there, and if so do you do a plan B before you go?
Yes we might have a plan B or on the walk in to popular spots we look for alternatives on the way
That’s what I’m busy doing now looking for spots for my first camp, on my walks got a few, this was one but I’m hoping it’s not to popular

Saves a few mile of tarmac, i still enjoy the walk from Hethpool but i was glad of the permit for the shorter walk out
