After recently watching a film titled 'The Salt of the Earth' featuring Sebastiao's life and photography, I purchased 2 of his books... He's an amazing man with huge compassion and vision, and what inspired me the most was the planting of all those [millions of] trees that not only helped heal his soul but that of Gaia, to return this area to the lush paradise he remembered as a child. It was a huge project that involved a co-ordinated effort in its planning and organising and growing of these trees... even before they got planted...

@@wakingtheworld As did I...actually sent a few out to friends & family to spread his genius....sadly few would finish watching it... considering it too dark & violent. And yet it was the re-propagation of his land, healing the earth & so himself that was the solution to seeing clearly again. A lesson we could all use in our current socio-economic state....Mother Earth....Yes?

@@noblshtplz It was harrowing enough to watch so how he could endure being part of people's tragic lives for years, I'll never know. It took courage to venture to these places and capture the photographs and film footage with humanity; to shed light on these atrocities. Nature is healing and nurturing. Folk need to get out in the green stuff, find a tree if they live in a city or care for a plant if they have no garden.
