Here there are some rare 30's or 40's cars that are very expensive and have been completely ruined, and now yes, they are cheap, because nobody wants them anymore
@@joe125ful what I mean is that if the car is damaged nobody would buy it anymore except at very low prices, because finding the spare parts is very difficult, and therefore they would buy another one in good condition
@@lupoberto8834 You're right, they should just sit in a barn under a cover. But honestly there is almost nothing in this video i would call expensive or rare...some caterhams, MGs, a Morgan or two, nothing here is from the 30s...these cars just look old and expensive...they ain't
What Ray said, there are (or were) 8 classes for cars. FWD saloon on road tyres was class 1 and specially modified trails cars class 8. Some of the specials are insanely competent, so they have to do stop-and restart to sort out the winners. Often the class 1 "section ends" is part-way up, too. One of the best performances I remember was someone in a 2CV, got waaay higher than anyone thought he would. I've read that the 2CV motor can go to 7000 rpm if you tune it a bit and this guy was using all of them.
The ruts are getting deeper and the bottom of cars can't clear it. They stop and put car down in first gear and the car can sometimes pull its self out.
I think I just saw every remaining Suzuki X90 in existence. lol. Loved the Avenger. I remember seeing an old entrants list for an Irish rally and there had to be over a dozen. Sadly all you see are the Mk2 fanboys nowadays. Nary a Chevette in sight either it seems.
I used to own a beatle 1300 1973 model, the hill here is way bigger than that and that car never failed me. To tell the truth, in days of dry road all i had to do was throttle until reach 1100-1500 rpm, after that i could simply drop the gas and the car would climb by himself. It's a reliable car for that kind of terrain.
Some vehicles stop cause they get stuck. But if your vehicle has just the right amount of torque, (put power to the road) you can stop, put it in first gear and it will pull its self out.

Same here in brasil.

Good effort by both BMW 530 and Z3 ! I was passenger in the Z3.
i bet the seat occupancy sensor was fucked after that :).
It seems like if you wanted to really compete you'd weld the diff? Or is that sort of thing not allowed?

in 1976 I took a London Black Cab diesel with an automatic trans up there. I thought it was a short cut.(not muddy though)
Those old cars were designed for dirt/ poor roads, thats why the do so well.
Maybe so Mr shmarty pants!
This part of the course in the mud in the middle of the forest reminds me of the DESERT map in the first version of Sega Rally in 1995, don't you?
What is this madness? I love it.

Why are some cars made to stop and restart on the hill and others not?
I guess because the "road" ahead is blocked
Glad to see some powerful Ford Pops! A good-sized passenger can really get those little cars rocking.

How are the tires smoking? Is it just mud, cause idk how they are doing burnouts in the mud when spinning?
There are some water in the mud, it can vaporise during the 'burnout'
friction, there spinning so fast that the mud and tire is hot.
You never got stuck in the mud? Friction of the skidding tire dries the mud under it very quickly and rubber begins to burn and smoke.
I drive a Subaru, mud never got me stuck! Haha
