I'm a herpetology student and while praying mantis are impeccable hunters in the insect world, that video was staged. you can clearly see that the lizard (some sort of mountain agama) was being held and fed for the mantis. 100/100 times a free and healthy lizard that size would either win or escape no problem. Reptiles don't feel pain like mammals and don't behave by waving their head around yelling "fuck what did you do to my face", this was THE TEXTBOOK behavior of a lizard trying to get away from something that has it from behind. I wouldn't be upset normally by misinterpretations, but because some documentarians caught then wore down some animal just for sensationalist pleasure doesn't sit right with me.
I'm glad you cleared this up, when I was watching the video my first thought was why wouldn't the lizard immediately run away after the praying mantis let go of his jaw? It's movements just look so unnatural.

It's called copyright law. The owner of the clips will sue and they will stop. The reason they used to get away with it, was because the audience was small and nobody noticed or cared. Once they got bigger and made more money, people took noticed and sued for copyright infringement. You will sadly be disappointed if you believe that with 100 mil contract people won't sue if they see their content being used on rogans podcast without their permission.

i used to work at a lumber yard and it use to be swarming with praying mantis and i seen a big ass female mantis eat 3 males in 10 minutes fucking crazy one of the most interesting insects in my opinion
