I'm 63, I've owned a Steinbereger since 1988, and never used another guitar. I've always dreamed of owning a real Les Paul, and was never well off enough to buy one. This week I bought an Epiphone Les Paul, and it is amazing, I played my friends Gibson to compare, and it was hard to tell the difference.
Nice! With your experience, I probably don't have to tell you this, but a good tip for Epiphones or other imports that I used to tell customers... Strum the guitar unplugged and listen to the strings. If all you hear are mids and highs, all the sound is coming off the bridge and the wood is either too dense or just hasn't "set." If you strum and get some lows, then the body is nice and resonant and the guitar will sing for you. I had an import BC Rich neck-thru Mockingbird. In natural finish with a quilt top. Stunning guitar. I got a deal on it, and it was one of the most beautiful guitars I ever had. But when you strummed it, all you got was the strings resonating off the bridge and tailpiece. I bought the guitar anyway, and long story short, I could never get that guitar to sound good. I changed pickups twice before I gave up. I could get a halfway decent sound with good pickups, but the pickups were doing all the work, and there was no character or sparkle to the sound. The wood on that guitar was effectively dead. In contrast, I picked up an Epiphone SG in faded brown. One of the ugliest guitars I've ever owned, looked like a giant turd. But strumming it unplugged, it was big and full sounding. Plugged it, it was amazing. I ended up using it in the studio. Congrats on your Les Paul! Epiphone makes some beauties.

There’s a big difference, I’m sorry to break it to you. If you can’t tell, maybe you haven’t played enough. The sound is better in all blind tests I can tell, and they feel tighter, better to play by hand. Oh, they smell better too hahaha. BUT, the question is are they worth 4-5 times the price? Only you can answer that yourself. There’s nothing wrong with Epiphones, but people please stop lying to yourselves that they’re as good as Gibsons. If that was the truth no one would be dumb enough to get a Gibson. Just being real here, don’t shoot the messenger if you can’t handle the truth 😂
I was never the biggest Les Paul fan but a few weeks ago I bought one of these Epiphones and I am extremely impressed and happy with it. Glad I bought it. Awesome guitar
These guitars are fantastic! Still have 1 Gibson LP studio after years of owning others. Decided this summer to get a Gibson LP Custom Black Beauty, but just couldn't stomach paying 6 grand. Bought a Silverburst Epi LP Custom. Loved it so much, I bought the Koa version 2 weeks later. Had so much fun with those, bought both the Black and Alpine White versions. Now I have 4 for less than the Gibson would have cost. Wanted to buy from Sweetwater, but they were always out of stock. Took a chance and ordered from Guitar Center. Not a single issue with any guitar, other than the frets being scratchy and leaving a black residue on my fingers. A quick polish and all is good!
Man thank you so much for these videos. I’m trying to save up for one. Because of family issues I couldn’t get my fathers when he passed. All black with a white trim. Beautiful. When your doing tone test, I can close my eyes an be a kid again with dad just picking out old country or gospel hymns. You guys rock. Keep up the great work. Definitely looking forward to more videos of all styles.
I own a new Epiphone Les Paul Custom, a new Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50's, a new Epiphone Moderne and a new Epiphone Adam Jones Les Paul Custom, Veil of Bees. They're all FANTASTIC instruments. I sold off most of my Gibsons a few years ago, and with these new Epiphones, I really don't miss them.
amazing guitar. you won’t regret buying it for sure. I got my a few weeks ago and it’s awesome, just had to do a little set up with string action, tighten up some things, put on good strings etc. Luckily the switch is also great on mine. for this price, it’s literally a killer machine.
I picked up a Epiphone Custom Pro in Alpine White in used but mint condition for $500 from Guitar Center and I was blown away by the build quality and overall feel and playability of the guitar. Is it as good as a USA Gibson Custom Shop? I will never know because I am not spending $4,500 on one. All told, it's one of the best guitars I own. Epiphone has definitely stepped up their game in recent years.
I've had many epis and I've made good money buying n selling them I have 4, sg custom,LP custom n 2 LP 2 specials ,I've got 2 Gibson's 2 86 charvels n 2 strat squires, n 1 Mitchell DR 450 I can't believe the quality the Asian guitars have I sold my USA strat because the Korean strat has a better feeling neck
The Custom shop ones are nice but it's moreso cosmetics and prestige more than anything. I personally am not a fan of Gibson putting the binding over the fret ends. I mean it's nice when it's new, but come time to replace the frets or do any work on the fretboard, those binding covers will get ripped off and never replaced. So it's pointless, and you pay for the amount of extra hours of labor that has to be put into creating that.
@@rockhaze The Epiphones Custom actually don't cover the fret ends. I agree that a Gibson Custom is a prestige piece and I am not spending 4-5k for one. But $500 bucks for a more than decent replica and I am in.
Sweet, thanks for the opportunity. Been on a 57 year quest for an LP but could never afford a Gibson! Epi's Sound's 150 year anniversary next year in '23...Epi would be proud! To the House of Stephopolus....
i got a 2020 Epi LP Custom(larger diamond) alpine and i put in gold 490r/498t gibson pickups, CTS Mallory, switchcraft 10's with a top wrap to make it close to a gibby custom, i love the neck profile on this guitar
I'm a gear snob. I only buy and play the best. I have quite a few pedals that cost as much or more than the Epiphone LP Custom. Today, I was at Guitar Center. I picked a Black Epiphone LP Custom to noodle around on. I could NOT put it down. It now lives in my studio, and I have to say I love it! Legit love it. I think the guitar is great the way it is, but I'm going to put locking tuners, a switch craft hand wired switch, and strap locks on it. I may go ahead and put in the same pick ups in the actual LP Custom the 490R/498T.
I am so excited about this guitar. I have always loved LP but never could afford it. I shut down the store playing it on a Wednesday and bought it online and picked up right when they opened on Thurs! I got it at a steal used and she's all I can think about! love it!
I just bought one of these from sweetwater. Had the plek done to the neck and locking tuners installed. Should get it in the next few days. I'm hoping all the reviews are right on it.
One of the best Les Paul's you can get for the money. It was my 1st LP(was always a Strat/Super Strat kind of guy) and now I have 3 total, Epi Custom, Epi Slash, & Epi '59. They are all amazing value, play, and sound sooo good. The Probucker PU's are very underrated IMO. Great review!
I have those exact 3 as well. The Custom seems to have the most "mojo" of the 3. Pickups are meh, but easily replaced. Thinking SD JB/Jazz combo. The Slash might have the best overall build quality, but the pickups are meh. I knew that going in and have a spare EMG 81/85 set that were always intended to go in it, so can't really complain. The R9 might have the best working electronics of any LP I've ever owned including my Gibson's. Not crazy about the satin finish on the top, but love it on the back of the neck, which they really did a good job in replicating the feel of the Gibson R9's. All 3 are a good value at MSRP.
The '59 is awesome, I love it. Has Gibson pickups & 50's style hand wiring. Electronics are Switchcraft, Mallory & CTS. It's a Gibson guitar basically with Epi on the headstock!!
I own a basic acoustic guitar, I bought it from a friend 4 years ago... Been playing it ever since. It's my favorite... Though I have never ever owned an electric guitar (couldn't afford one), I've played Tele and Strat.... Recently I got a chance to play my elder cousin's Gibson Les Paul Standard... it was just magical. 🔥🔥🔥
I just bought a black bueaty epiphone custom les Paul. I set the intonation, re adjusted the strings, and re adjusted the pick ups and it sounds and plays great at low volume or cranked all the way up. I love it !
I did a side by side comparison of a 1998 Gibson Les Paul Custom and a 2022 Epiphone Les Paul Custom. The 98 was around $3300. And the 22 was $750. The Epiphone won in this circumstance. The Gibson pickups are a bit better but the Epiphone has a faster neck. It has a thinner profile. In the end I put the Gibson back in its case.
I have this guitar in black, and it's a winner! I'm not sure how it stacks up against a Gibson, but it's only a fraction of the cost. Mine is a 2018 model. The design of the headstock has changed slightly as this one has sharper corners - not a big deal. You should be very happy owning one of these.
Greetings! I couldn’t agree more! I picked one up a couple of years ago and have had absolutely no issues with it, it plays and sounds great. Mine also has coil splits and a phase switch built in with push/pull pots. It is a real bargain. Thank you for posting these videos! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🎸
White poly finishes also go yellow but it takes longer, remember though that they are much less reactive than nitro so don't mark anywhere near as easily (like on stands) which is a big plus.
saaaame but alpine white 2015 - loved it so much i figured it was time to restore the hardware and install a p90 in the bridge and PAF for bridge!!!! excited
I picked up the Jerry Cantrell wino epiphone earlier this year, I’ve swapped the pickups for some Seymour Duncan’s and de-Jerry’d it, really excellent guitar at the price, fit and finish on mine is great, only work it needed out of the box was a fret polish to get rid of the scratchy frets straight from factory.
About a year ago I bought an Epi doubleneck - the G-1275. I went on a replaced all four (!) pickups first, because I found the Epi pickups to be lifeless and muddy. I put a selection of Gibson pups in there and suddenly it became one of the best sounding guitars I have - a true rock beast. The sound demos here sound similar to what my Epi double-neck pickups sounded like. I would bet a pair of Gibson 57 classics (a plus in the bridge) would vastly improve this guitar. And, I think, the tuners and switches need to be swapped out too. But when you pay $800 bucks for a guitar like this, you can drop a $1,000 into replacement components and you end up with all the benefit of the Gibson LP for still way less than you would pay for a Gibson LP custom. You just have to get over the fact that everyone will wrinkle their brow and say, "oh, it's an Epiphone." People do that with my doubleneck, and I tell them, "trust me, these Gibson pups do NOT know they are in an Epi." Then they hear it and I never see that wrinkled brow again!
I own a Les Paul Standard, but my Holy Grail guitar has always been the Alpine White LP Custom. This guitar might be the closest I ever get. Just love the look. The pickups sound pretty good, but, I don't know, Epi pickups always sound like there's a thin sheet over the speaker. Some worse than others, but their pickups always seem to lack definition in the highs. That being said, I would definitely buy one of these. The CTS pots are a huge improvement. Thanks for the demo.
I have a Lee Malia that I pick up for $200 at my friend's auction. It was from a collector and was brand new. Beautiful and plays amazing once I got it set up.
My dad got me my first real guitar, which was an alpine white apple phone last fall in 1989. One of many guitars I wish I still had way back when I was always trading guitars end to upgrade not many people kept more than one guitar in the 90s none of us could’ve afford it…. But I wish I had it because I remember my Dad talking to the local music store about it… and then after my lesson he got it for me …..miss it
Couple of years ago I got a 2002 MIK Custom, black & gold, I modded everything, DiMarzio Super Distortion bridge ‘59 neck, removed all gold hardware with black and locking tuners, replaced the wiring with an Obsidianwire kit.. it is a monster…Peavey Classic 50, Boss SD-1, MXR custom overdrive and Boss CE-2 (‘80s original)… I am set up for anything from Metallica to AIC to STP to classic rock…
My last 4 or 5 guitars are from ZZ as well as my two different Headrush units and all kinds of accessories, the payment plan is awesome too. Been thinking about getting another LP, been wanting one of these customs for awhile now.. Might have to pull the trigger soon
I bought one last year, love it & it’s actually became my #1 go to guitar. The only upgrade I did was I got ride of all the gold & got black & I just took the covers off
i bought a custom same in arctic white - gold hardware -its got a good range of tones- it stays in tune and is perfectly intonated-if something happened to it id definitely get another one right away- the build quality is very good -the neck feels comfortable - the guitars not too heavy and its affordable .Like the video said a gibson custom new is around 5 grand which is way out of my budget...
Beautiful guitar but I dont like gold hardware. For the record poly does age, just not as fast or extreme as nitro. I have a 32 year old squire strat that was pearl white when I bought it . It now has a caramel tint to it. Personally I like my guitars to look good forever.
It does fade to that gorgeous cream colour I have a white gold hardware Les Paul Studio signed by Steve Jones of the Pistols dated 1996 it has aged nicely
If you don’t like gold hardware, simply steer clear of the Les Paul Custom. The Les Paul Custom “Black Beauty” was designed to be Gibson’s most upscale solid body electric….Tuxedo Black w/gold. About as fancy as you could get in 1954.
I'm perfectly happy with my Gibson Les Paul Custom. No upgrades were needed. Only soldered in a treble bleed circuit is all. Epiphone's are great beginner/budget guitars though.
I have had a few of the cheaper SGs and Les Paul and now I am in the middle of getting an older alpine white LP custom to add to my collection.... I have wanted one for a few years...
I bought the Epi LP Standard. Swapped the pick-up’s to Seymor Duncan P-rails, the knobs to speed knobs and the truss rod cover to the one with the text ”Les Paul Custom”. But the headstock and hardware (Grover) is original.
I have a 2008 Epiphone Les Paul Custom that plays and sounds better than most of the les paul’s i’ve touched, always been very surprised by the quality of these.
wow good to see they finally did away with the clipped headstock , i have a few Gibson Les Pauls and 1 Epiphone Les Paul Custom i bought the first year they released them it had the open book headstock and oddly hands down that guitar walked all over my Gibsons and i retired it maybe 3 years ago because it needs a fret job but now i am getting to old to play and my hands are giving out
I've been applying for so many jobs i already finish my study and always got rejected i talk so many people to start business but still rejected, i own 1 guitar but not that good, 100$ guitar it doesn't sound good, i just keep scrolling and scrolling to watch it that someday i own legit 1 guitar, but still don't quit in life to have one someday, Your guitar is beautiful Sir!
Frigging Awesome 👌. Nice playing Got the black now gonna get the white 🤪 Epiphone is better on the SG Modern than the Gibson for some reason and is $2000 cheaper...it has more solid feel and out of phase...which sounds great. Don't get me wrong though Gibson Blueberry Fade pretty sweet Also. Thx Jay Thank you so much!
I was looking at EPI guitars . I noticed that the bridge on the Epiphone guitars was set very high. Possibly at the maximum adjustment. The Gibbons were all low. Also I Epiphone Flying V said on the ticket it said neck through. But it wasn't . It was a set neck. When I asked the sales guy he said they " just print the ticket they get from headquarters "
Also the Modern Series in Epiphone has the Ebony fingerboard. About those switches yah that is a cheap pot metal switch. Quite often they can break during shipping if they don't have protection over the switch. My Epiphone Les Paul Modern in Sparkling Burgundy fell over in its case at the till at Long&McQuade. When I got home and opened my soft shell case up, I noticed that the whole switch had completely broken off from the guitar. So all I had there was a little piece of the switch pointing up through the 3 way selected whole. Anyway I replaced it. Yah both the Epiphone Les Paul& SG Moderns also have the Ebony Fingerboard. Out of the whole line of Epiphone Guitars the Custom and Modern series have these beautiful ebony fingerboards. Anyway great video.
I agree 100%. Just received mine in Arctic White and the finish was immaculate! The sound and the neck are amazing as well. Love it! A really nice addition to my collection. Keep up the great reviews lads.
These Epiphones improved significantly w/the inspired by Gibson line. And this is coming from a longtime Gibson snob. However, at some point you gotta give credit where it’s due. Honestly, with the new headstock the diamond inlay is able to spread and get close to its Gibson brother. It’s not a Gibson LP Custom in every way but w/a little TLC and possibly a handful of upgrades you can feel pretty damn good about that Epi purchase. I bypassed the whole switch issue and picked up the Jared James Gold Glory and it’s right at home and holds its own with my Gibsons.
Yah the color on that guitar is Alpine White, not Arctic White. I actually rented out this guitar for a few months and loved it better than the other model in Ebony. But in the end, yes I bought myself a Epiphone Led Paul Custom. The Ebony and Alpine White models sell for $999.00 here in Canada. But I bought the Epiphone Les Paul Custom Koa model instead. The pictures online did not make it look like the most beautiful model of these 3 models. But when I went into Long&McQuade here in Red Deer, Alberta and saw this model and after picking it up, I fell in love with it, Everything was very good about this guitar, even though I still took it to the Luthier and had it set up. It sounds and plays like a dream. The price was $1019.00 here in Canada, a bit more than the other models. I have tried out several Gibson's Les Paul Tributes that retail for $1649.00 and the Studio models that retail for $2199.00 more than double the price of this epiphone. They can't touch this guitar. Unless you are going to spend $3500-7500 Canadian dollars for a Gibson, then you might and maybe can match these Epiphones for only a fraction of the price of a Gibson.
How is the action on an Epiphone Les Paul? Are they good for shredding? I love the way Les Paul's sound but I also want a buttery smooth, easy action Ibanez play feel. Do they have both?
I've been playing Ibanez since the later 80's, my daughter bought me a Epi LP 60s standard for Xmas a few years back. I have to say it feels really good in my hands, little heavier than what I'm used to of course, but the neck feels good, pretty natural, glad it was the 60s standard due those necks are little slimmer than the 50s necks. And yeah i immediately started shredding on it, it felt natural even coming from Rg's.
Since 2021 I purchased two Epiphone SGs and two Les Pauls. All are great especially for their price points but all have problems with the toggle switches every once in a while. So that needs to be fixed by Epiphone.
ive been a Gibson and fender player for years, (2005 SG & 1994 Strat) but I always wanted a white gibson custom les paul, a few years back I went to one of the big guitar dealers here in ireland with the intention of purchasing the holy grail white gibson les paul custom. after playing the guitar in the shop I felt a bit deflated as the €5000 price tag just didnt seem justified with little nagging doubts about the quality (sharp fret ends, some scratchy frets, slightly high action to possibly hide a bad set up or problematic neck). so I decided not to purchase. then recently I seen the epiphone inspired by gibson white les paul custom on thomanns website for €650 and after doing some research I decided to purchase one without playing it first, I thought that if it wasn't up to the road work well it would at least make a lovely looking wall hanger. well my epiphone arrived about 2 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. honestly if the gibson I played in dublin felt like this epiphone a few year ago I would have paid to €5000. it has instantly become my number 1 guitar. I cant speak for all epiphone custom les Paul's but I can say the one I got has absolutely blown me away. wouldn't mind having that 57' reissue candy apple green one too though.
I had the koa one on my wishlist for a yesr and finally ordered it and gotnit yesterday. most beautiful les paul I have ever seen. I could afford a gibson but wanted a custom, which is too expensive by gibson in my opinion. And there is ko gibson right nownthat has that woody 70s look that the koa has and which I am a sucker for :D
Actually one correction, Epiphone do make SEVERAL other Les Pauls with Ebony Fretboard. Here are just a few: 1.) Epiphone Les Paul Custom Blackback Limited-Edition - Antique Ivory for $729 2.) Epiphone Jerry Cantrell "Wino" Les Paul Custom - Wine Red for $849 3.) Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy Series for $899
I have the KOA custom, thing plays amazing! Dropped some SD Whole Lotta Humbuckers in it. Gonna swap back to the probuckers… By the way, mine came with the switch broken, just tossed another in it. Love This Guitar!
I have the exact guitar. I went in with the cash in my pocket to by a Gibson Les Paul. I had already spent plenty of time on test drives and thought I knew exactly what I wanted. They just got the Epi in, I was there when the guy brought it out to hang up. I decided to try it out before I bought the one I picked out earlier. about 45 minutes later I walked out with the custom, and 3/4 of my cash still in my pocket. My only issue is the plug will not stay tight, or would not until I put a drop of glue on each nut and tightened it. 6 months later I am still in love, and have zero regrets.
I own one. It is my fav. And she is beautiful. And my three-way switch is good. But I paid more like $900, not $700 something. But I did get a very nice hard molded case with it.
A very classy look and great sounding Neck pick-up, hate 2 see a bad switch right out of the box, but I guess for a cheeper China make !$$$money is something we all need to make it through this hard times, but being said the bridge lacks that real LP bite? But the bridge is still kicking and at That sound!!!! Hard to believe,, Kool picking John as USUAL & Zack U make John look tight, 👍👍😉
I'm 62, haven't played much guitar, but never too old, right? I was thinking of the lp studio, but what's a couple hundred more for a much better guitar? Damn, that Alpine White is so beautiful, I'm in love❤❤❤
I've been playing since I was nine years old and have an older Les Paul in a dark green, with maple top tiger strip I call it would love to win this guitar,my fingers are crossed😊
I have a 2003 model, from new. I love it. Honestly, it sounds better than quite a few Gibsons I've heard over the years. I truly do rate it. It's only worth £500 quid or so, maybe less. But I'll never sell.
i truly love my Black Beauty version of it now if i had this Snow white version of it i will call it Miss EMMA FROST also love the Custom Black version of the SG some of the best EPIS ever created
I'm not sure about epi probucker pick up. They must add 496r 498t or better than it, 500T Gibson, one of the most versatile pick up that you can find. They are great for everything, jazz, metal, bluse, ambient...
I now say Yepperphone for pretty much any time I am saying yes! And, I have an Epiphone Les Paul Ultra III that I absolutely Love! Cool video!!! Rock on man!
Hey guys, thanks for the review......... I'm poised to buy one of these secondhand in the uk..... The owner has replaced the pickups with Tonerider Rebel 90 pickups....... and a Les Paul wiring loom...... is this a good upgrade in your opinion?

@@dpajc056 there’s a lot of popular guitarist that say there’s not really much tonal difference between a Gibson LP and a epiphone LP Custom.

The artic/alpine white together with the black beauty both with gold hardware are my favorite LP color configurations
Agreed. The split diamond headstocks are just classy.

I bought this guitar in the guitar center silver burst edition for 599 on sale a few months ago. It's a great guitar. I love it.

@@rockhaze The Epiphones Custom actually don't cover the fret ends. I agree that a Gibson Custom is a prestige piece and I am not spending 4-5k for one. But $500 bucks for a more than decent replica and I am in.
@plecogod Custom shop = gibson.
Just thought id clarify my previous post. We are on the same accord.
Sweet, thanks for the opportunity. Been on a 57 year quest for an LP but could never afford a Gibson!
Epi's Sound's 150 year anniversary next year in '23...Epi would be proud! To the House of Stephopolus....
i got a 2020 Epi LP Custom(larger diamond) alpine and i put in gold 490r/498t gibson pickups, CTS Mallory, switchcraft 10's with a top wrap
to make it close to a gibby custom, i love the neck profile on this guitar
I'm a gear snob. I only buy and play the best. I have quite a few pedals that cost as much or more than the Epiphone LP Custom. Today, I was at Guitar Center. I picked a Black Epiphone LP Custom to noodle around on. I could NOT put it down. It now lives in my studio, and I have to say I love it! Legit love it. I think the guitar is great the way it is, but I'm going to put locking tuners, a switch craft hand wired switch, and strap locks on it. I may go ahead and put in the same pick ups in the actual LP Custom the 490R/498T.
I just ordered 2019 Epiphone LP Custom Pro KOA from Reverb; I can't wait to see how it sounds! Epi guitars are real workhorse
got mine yesterday. I bet you will love it.
I am so excited about this guitar. I have always loved LP but never could afford it. I shut down the store playing it on a Wednesday and bought it online and picked up right when they opened on Thurs! I got it at a steal used and she's all I can think about! love it!
I just bought the Matt Heafy Epiphone Les Paul Custom. Has Fishman fluence pickups, it's awesome.
I just bought one of these from sweetwater. Had the plek done to the neck and locking tuners installed. Should get it in the next few days. I'm hoping all the reviews are right on it.
Keep us posted on it. Kinda funny I was thinking of doing exactly what you done. Best of luck !!!
Great review!
if you can get your hands on a epiphone elite/elitist series they are phenomenal! but very rare to see them . i have an epuphone lp custom 2003 elite
I love it !
Got my epi LP custom silverburst last year, sounds awesome, its the way to go if you want silver hardware!
I got the black and gold custom pro 2014 model from a pawn shop for $300 usd a few years ago. Still one of my favorite guitars I own. Very versatile
saaaame but alpine white 2015 - loved it so much i figured it was time to restore the hardware and install a p90 in the bridge and PAF for bridge!!!!
Unfortunately, that guitar is chambered and far to light for a LP IMHO.
@@Edward1312 Meh, I’ll take a slightly lighter one, it’s not as bad as the modern model, my mate has one and it’s way lighter than the JC.
Zzounds is the best!!! I deal with them exclusively. That Epi custom is beautiful!!
I’ve had this one backordered for MONTHS (lefty model)… I REALLY want one now!
Beautiful guitar but I dont like gold hardware. For the record poly does age, just not as fast or extreme as nitro. I have a 32 year old squire strat that was pearl white when I bought it . It now has a caramel tint to it. Personally I like my guitars to look good forever.
I agree with you had an Eppy LP Black beauty didn't like the 3pickups and gold hardware sold it now have a Gibson custom shop LP.
Cry then. Nothing last forever.
I mean you can’t even buy a Gibson for less than $4500. Most pro players I know can’t afford that.
I’ve owned one for a couple years now. I love it!!!
I just got an Epiphone LP Custom with a Koa top, I have been playing it for a day and really like it so far.
I have a white with gold hardware Agile 2000 LP and its an amazing guitar imo. This Epi is a steal at under $800 USD.
Just got a new 2022 Ivory Custom Blackback. It’s amazing
I have had a few of the cheaper SGs and Les Paul and now I am in the middle of getting an older alpine white LP custom to add to my collection.... I have wanted one for a few years...
I bought the "Tuxedo" LP custom . TV yellow front with black back, push/pull pots. The customs are sweet! Now I want to collect all of them.
Nice playing
Got the black now gonna get the white 🤪
Epiphone is better on the SG Modern than the Gibson for some reason and is $2000 cheaper...it has more solid feel and out of phase...which sounds great. Don't get me wrong though Gibson Blueberry Fade pretty sweet Also.
Thx Jay
Thank you so much!
Hey thanks for watching! If you’re picking up a LPC in white, use our link! 🤘

Epiphone elite Les Paul custom, goes toe to toe with Gibson Les paul
I was looking at EPI guitars . I noticed that the bridge on the Epiphone guitars was set very high. Possibly at the maximum adjustment. The Gibbons were all low. Also I Epiphone Flying V said on the ticket it said neck through. But it wasn't . It was a set neck. When I asked the sales guy he said they " just print the ticket they get from headquarters "
I have the Epiphone Les Paul Custom Koa and I love it. Same Solid mahogany body, but with a Koa cap instead of Maple.
I LOVE THE WHITE BODY & GOLD HARDWARE. Randy Rhoades style
I have seen the Epiphone custom Koa Les Paul's selling up to $1,300 on Ebay and that's still a deal
I agree 100%. Just received mine in Arctic White and the finish was immaculate! The sound and the neck are amazing as well. Love it! A really nice addition to my collection. Keep up the great reviews lads.
Thank you great to hear! Enjoy the guitar 🍻
I didn't know those had an ebony fretboard. That thing is pretty sweet looking.
Great, as always guys.
I have that one... My first electric guitar
Beautiful guitar. It would be awesome to win this beauty 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What year are the inspired by Gibson line?
@@ShAdOwM0ZESfrom 2020 to the present
Owned a '69 Gibson Les Paul Custom.I paid $400 for it back in the late sixties. Wish I still owned it.
With a good setup any guitar can shred. I'm sure the neck isn't as thin as those wizard necks though. I prefer a bit rounded though
Thanks much to responders!!
I'm scared to try another maker, Ibanez is all I've known but Les Paul's just sound so so good (and look so so good)
I've been playing Ibanez since the later 80's, my daughter bought me a Epi LP 60s standard for Xmas a few years back.
Alpine White just bought mine Thanks
What a beauty. always loved Les Paul axes!
I purchased the Gibson bass knock off. Love it.
Is that a heritage cherry 50's in the back?
I had the koa one on my wishlist for a yesr and finally ordered it and gotnit yesterday. most beautiful les paul I have ever seen. I could afford a gibson but wanted a custom, which is too expensive by gibson in my opinion. And there is ko gibson right nownthat has that woody 70s look that the koa has and which I am a sucker for :D
Actually one correction, Epiphone do make SEVERAL other Les Pauls with Ebony Fretboard. Here are just a few:
1.) Epiphone Les Paul Custom Blackback Limited-Edition - Antique Ivory for $729
2.) Epiphone Jerry Cantrell "Wino" Les Paul Custom - Wine Red for $849
3.) Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy Series for $899
I don’t think he said it’s the only one Epiphone makes, I think he said it’s the only one they had
I got mine today, very impressed
I had a white custom from the 70s wish now I never traded it away. Can’t afford to buy a Gibson custom now.
I have the KOA custom, thing plays amazing! Dropped some SD Whole Lotta Humbuckers in it. Gonna swap back to the probuckers…
By the way, mine came with the switch broken, just tossed another in it. Love This Guitar!
Man, great playing but that tone sounds so emaciated
Do they come in lefty
Outstanding playing and guitar.
I'm subscribed.
considering no 2 guitars are the same i would have just put in. a switchcraft switch
Thoughts on the Matt Heafy Origins Epiphone? Love to see you check that one out
A very classy look and great sounding Neck pick-up, hate 2 see a bad switch right out of the box, but I guess for a cheeper China make !$$$money is something we all need to make it through this hard times, but being said the bridge lacks that real LP bite? But the bridge is still kicking and at That sound!!!! Hard to believe,,
Kool picking John as USUAL & Zack U make John look tight, 👍👍😉
I'm 62, haven't played much guitar, but never too old, right? I was thinking of the lp studio, but what's a couple hundred more for a much better guitar? Damn, that Alpine White is so beautiful, I'm in love❤❤❤
I've been playing since I was nine years old and have an older Les Paul in a dark green, with maple top tiger strip I call it would love to win this guitar,my fingers are crossed😊
awesome picking!
I have a 2003 model, from new. I love it.
Honestly, it sounds better than quite a few Gibsons I've heard over the years. I truly do rate it.
It's only worth £500 quid or so, maybe less. But I'll never sell.
I put Graph Tech tuners and NW2 bridge on my Epi Red Special II and it is lit.
i truly love my Black Beauty version of it
now if i had this Snow white version of it i will call it Miss EMMA FROST
also love the Custom Black version of the SG
some of the best EPIS ever created
I'm not sure about epi probucker pick up.
They must add 496r 498t or better than it, 500T Gibson, one of the most versatile pick up that you can find. They are great for everything, jazz, metal, bluse, ambient...
Current have a Squire Strat and and LTD EX-50, because I’m poor , but this is one of my must haves someday, mostly because of Frank Iero
I want one of these so badly. They are absolutely beautiful
such a beautiful guitar 🙏🙏
It looks like the one Randy Rhoades used to play.
I had a switchcraft on hand so I put it in on a broken Epi from GC, quality control people, come on"
I have a 2020 Epi Les Paul Custom in black. An absolutely AWESOME guitar. I also own Gibsons, btw.
I like Epiphones but nothing about that crooked headstock inlay says "money" or "quality".
Just bought mine yesterday in the burst silver 😊
