His name was probably Bubba even before but I guess she decided to change it to something that sounds similar enough for the dog while being distinct enough from the previous channel mascot.
The names are close enough that they'd probably sound the same to the dog, so the dog would respond to both. In that sense, it probably doesn't matter.
It was always Bubbles. She may have also shortened it to bubba on occasion before hololive, but I've only seen the two old sachi clips where she calls him Bubbles.
This is freaky. I had a detective NPC based off of a certain streamer in my game, and her assistant was named Bubbles. My players thought it was based off of Agent Bubbles from Lilo and Stitch, but it was meant to be her dog.
Ah yes bubbles... The retired cameramen dog
I'd wager that the dog was always Bubbles and Bubba is just a shortened version of that.
A don't think so, in some of her IRL streams as Sachi she show her dog and calle him Buba. But maybe true what You said.
It could just be that the names are so similar that they sound the same to the dog, so the dog responds to both.
It's short for bubbaboey
@@prukutkinabsolutely untrue. She was using the name "Bubbles" back before hololive.
Kiara's cats seem to also have different names from keekihimes cats. Wonder if it's a policy at their workplace.
we are SO back
Oh yeah bubbles my favorite dog
So was his name actually Bubbles or did she have to change his IRL name to keep people from bringing up the obvious

I imagine Bubba was a nickname. Pet people tend to have a ton of nicknames for their babies. At least I do, and most of the pet owners I know do
