I have the ruger go wild in 7mm-08 and it shoots amazing as well and hasn't been ammo sensitive. Truly love the action ajd the overall shooting of the gun
I have a Ruger American plain black model in 7mm-08 with a Leupold scope. My son and I have hunted with it for 3 deer seasons. We have taken 9 deer with it. I use Hornady Full Boar ammo with 139 gr. GMX (copper) projectiles which shoot sub MOA in this rifle. I typically shoot high shoulder shots, and it performs well. I really like the rifle. I think it outperforms its price tag. In fact, even though I bought it for my son, I usually take it hunting in lieu of my Remington 700 in .30-06 when he is not using it. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy the content you produce. Greetings from Central Kentucky.
Thanks bro and GMX is a great ammo and 7mm08 is a great caliber. I was very impressed with Ruger American, your son is lucky to have you or visa versa since you're using his rifle. God bless.
We are FINALLY allowed some form of rifle here in Illinois for Deer. I grew up using a 20 guage with a fully rifled barrel and a scope with modern slugs like a hornady SST with the full copper jacket and a polymer tip. I was one of the lucky ones with a good set up too! Most were lucky to have a smooth bore barrel and a rifled choke with no scope. My 870 had about a 150 yard ethical range. Now we can use straightwalls which aren’t nearly as good as what you are rocking with in a 308 but 350 legend, 450 bushmaster, 300 blackout, or 444 marlin are definitely superior to what I grew up with. I just went with the Ruger American Go wild chambered in 350 legend and it definitely is a pretty gun with the cerakoting bronze barrel snd the sweet camo. So I am excited to get it sighted in and ready to go. My step dad had the money to go all out so he just had a custom 27” barrel made for his Thompson chambered in 444 marlin. 444 marlin is by far the most superior strsightwall round. We were able to test it in the late season in January when the law officially went into effect. It definitely was a wicked round but the 444 marlin isn’t even close to available for your average guy. He can afford to buy custom ammo. So I went with 350 legend because it was probably one of the most available guns you can find ammo for. Anywho I am ranting lol. Thanks for the video!
I have the go wild in 300. I've taken 3 elk with it so far. I did take the muzzle brake off and just put a thread protector on it instead. I hand load for it and it really shoots well. The ranges for where I live and hunt elk and deer are pretty close but sometimes you see them across open areas and ranges get longer ( 300 yards is a good poke in the mountains s for me anyways) It really is a great rifle for what you pay and I've been very happy with it. Thanks for the video
Great choice bro, I did a review on my hunting buddy's go wild in 308 and I was very impressed with it's accuracy with different ammos. 3 elks sounds great bro🤤😋😁.
I bought the same gun a week before opening day here in Washington and shot a 3 point Whitetail at 240 yards and it ran about 20 yards and dropped. I love my Ruger American 308.
@@vameathunter2771 Since you like semi's if I could get this or a PSA ar10 gen 3 18" for about the same price what would you recommend. Just target shooting steel and paper.

@OBrienx666 having taken 308 out to 800 900 and 1000 yards id say it's not that hard to get out there with 308, have this is exact rifle and i shoot it long range regularly, it's really really accurate, at least mine is. Best group .323 inches at 100 3 round group
Yes, I would be interested in seeing your 3-rifle review, as you mentioned I currently have a Ruger Predator in 6.5mm Creedmoor " with a Boyd's aftermarket stock" and I did also replace the trigger spring polished the bolt to remove machining marks and it shoots very well. I have two Thompsons (Venture models- however) that you mentioned you may compare against the Ruger. The Axis Savage I have worked on and put a Timney trigger in for a friend and it also shoots well. will watch for your comparison video.
Very nice review as always Doc! 308 is great but out of my 308 it drops 5 1/5 inches at 200 with the ammo I like to use, so I use 30-06 because It will only drop 2 inches at 200 yards.
Sounds great bro, I grow up hunting with 30-06 in California and I love it. I use 150 gr in my 308 and I zero it at 50 yards and at 100 yards it shoots about 1.5"-2" high and about 1.5" low at 250 yards. Here in Virginia where I hunt 90% of hunting distance is under 80 yards and once I shot a coyote at about 250 yards so I'm good 😁.
