Japan is the home of cup noodles, and sometimes these cup noodle companies like to troll us with 4,000+ calories of soy noodles (yakisoba). Let's see if I can eat it all!

I can mentally hear connor saying "Look at that monstrosity, you could feed a family of 4 with that."
“You could feed the entire last supper with this yakisoba.”
Funny things is he would only say one of these
From ethiopia and it cant
We are 15 people in one household😅
You can also murder a family of 4 with it.
Cholesterol
Reading all these replies in connor's voice in my head and they sound so apt 😭😭
That ain't a cup noodle, that's a tub noodle.
Amen
@@traineeanna6935you mean Ramen?
Joey: OMG 4000 calories😱
Also Joey: lets add even more calories by adding mayonnaise
i mean, if you are going for it, go big
@@zyal1825 yeah
Yah with that amount of mayo it'll be near 5k calories
The American way 🙌
cmon he didn't add all the seasoning guys!
Last time I had a normal-sized instant yakisoba, the English language nutrition facts sticker said it had 114% of the daily recommended value of sodium.
Is that the last time you ate it? XD
That's why people say it's not good for you 😂
😭
Almost as much salt as a gacha player.
Just 1 Cup of Noodles, is 4000mg of it. And if ppl are eating it to save money 💀
I appreciate that no food was wasted here. All food challenges should have a back up to help, it just makes the video better anyway.
Or, in the case of Japan, it would be good if they allowed people to take the leftovers home. For concerns of food saftey, they don't have much of a take-home plate culture. Which, on one hand, I understand, but on the other...so much wasted food. It could be frozen at home and thawed when the person wasn't sick to death of it anymore, lol.
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley that could be because it's considered rude to not eat everything served.
@@MySkilletfan It will be eaten...just not at that moment, lol.
@@MySkilletfan Japan also takes the idea of "rudeness" to an extreme level. Quietly eating or chatting at a low volume to friends on the train is considered rude, eating while walking is rude, etc. And no matter what, leftovers taken home WILL eventually be eaten. It's assuming that somebody is gonna be wasteful that is the *actual* rude thing to do.
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley cant do anything if i just take my own box with me lol
13:21 Seeing Aki and Joey attemping the lady and the tramp scene while eating yakisoba is funny and adorable 😆 (but hungry for noodles to the core~)
I thought they would break the chopsticks and eat them with the noodles lol
are they a couple?
@@tatianasaorihayashi5490 Yep they are~
@@missbenzayb aww, that's cute
Luke is correct, this definitely serves like a picnic/gathering/etc type of meal. I honestly want to bring this to a trip with me.
In response to NoodleCon, I googled it and found a Ramen Expo in Houston that happened late June.
He should have brought Chris, Connor, Garnt, Meilyne, Akidearest, Sydney and Kaho Shibuya to join in. This needed seven more folks to manage.
Never knew a convention about noodles existed.
This is a whole ass survival pack of noodles.
Who's Luke?
I thought so too, but then remembered that you'd need 2.2 litres of boiling water. How are you supposed to get that in a picnic? xD
Edit: I know yo ucan make it beforehand, but that wouldn't be as nice. But I don't see any other way.
GUYS! You can EASILY TRY THIS AT HOME! JUST get 18 packs of noodels of your choice and eat them in one sitting! :D
Dude it's not the same
@@kylekeller4952 I assure you that you will feel just as dead inside

a Japanese cup noodle is never big enough so I usually make a fried rice dish out of it for more calories lmao
When I'm eating ramen in general I'm like I'm clearing not caring about calories so I'll add stuff to make it "healthy"
@@Truecrimeresearcher224 I like to add like a small spoonful of peanut butter, a splash of soy sauce, garlic powder, a splash of hot sauce, or just sriracha and no garlic powder, a tiny tiny bit of oyster sauce like, the size of a dime, and about the same amount of honey for a little more sweetness. So yummy, and almost creamy!
finish the noodles, add a bunch of rice into the leftover soup, mmmmmmmmmm
@@PossumCheckers peanut butter?
@@RubixKyuub bros trippin
Sometimes when I invite friends over I will just cook two pots of yakisoba, one classic or teriyaki, and a spicy one, and then cook a bunch of different veggies and meats, so that everyone can add their own toppings and eat however they want to. So a giant one like this actually is pretty cool for something like that!
When th commentary from the camerman is just pure northern Irish, it just makes any type of video extra good.
I thought he was australian
@@dejakiller69 not at all. That's a very very northern Irish accent from the cameraman
@@Sewblick yeah, definately not Australian, it's a very strong Irish accent, I'd know I'm Australian.
I'm getting either east Belfast or north Belfast vibes from the camera man lol

4000 calories + 2000 calories worth of mayo...😂😂😂 Congrats! Wish we had an "end-credits" scene to see the post-eating state of Joey...
Probably just Joey being 'dead' on the floor...
80’s sitcom style “Where are they now?”
Joey finished this noodles with the power of friendship
And good mayo, dont forget the mayo
He really likes to review plus he add some mayo a
Random Construction Worker: you mean this Small size Ramen noodles? i can instantly finish it by inhaling it.
Luke is, without a shadow of a doubt, the MVP of the video.
Why does it feel like Joey is making his second channel in the style of Japanese channels. I swear this whole Oomori-Yakisoba thing was all the rage in Japanese UA-cam a while back!
I really like to see these Japanese formats done for a International audience ❣ Keep this train rolling, Joey!

Joey and Aki eating noodles. Goals man xD
They could be good for 24 hours if they finish. They also need to have Connor, Chris, Garnt, Sydney, Meilyne and Kaho Shibuya along with this, armed with bowls and drinks.
15:33 "aki stop" ... Idk why but I can't stop laughing bro 😭
I'm a fat American and I don't think I could eat half of one of those in one sitting. I think you did surprisingly well with eating as much as you did.
He needed one more player to join !
To put it in scale, he had to boil a GALLON of water just to fill the tub of (likely expanding) noodles.
Greetings, fat American!
I'm sorry. No offense meant, but I was watching Joey and thinking an American can definitely finish this laughing 🤣
*heavy southern accent* bruthr hwut th hell 'r yew talkin' about. dat rite dere's one hoe servn' saez.
I don't think the calories is the threat, I think the 10000000% increase in salt could be more of a direct threat.
Aki and Joey eating together that noodle was like that scene from Jurassic Park where the two t-rexes eat that man together
#relationshipgoals 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
@@digit4lbunny876 Definitely

@@Noah-zr6vq do you mean T-rex's eating the man part ? Coz even I like that part lol
I like to point out that Peyangu put the warning not to eat it by yourself for a reason. There was a likelihood that someone did once and then they had to put that label
Its true love when Aki and Joey both dive into the yakisoba like rabid beasts!
Congrats, Joey for eating more than your daily recommended amount of calories!! Go rest nearby the toilet.
Luke really should make a UA-cam channel, he's actually very good on camera =D
I can understand liking Yakisoba more than cup noodles, it's good stuff. My favourite instant noodle (that I can get in Australia) is Mi Goreng, it's made similarly, cook the noodles in plain water, drain then add the sauces and stuff.
Mei goreng is my favorite. BBQ chicken flavor goes hard
Mi goreng stans rise up. Indomie is definitely my favorite. I tried yakisoba recently and it gave me that same kick from mi goreng so i for sure prefer yakisoba as well
@@Threebs_ CMIIW yakisoba is exactly that: yaki / fried / goreng + soba / mie
Before cooking the noodles, pour the sauce/oil & seasoning mix on a plate first then cook the noodles so you can immediately mix the noodles up
@@fltfathin ooooo noted noted

one time i refused to eat anything other than those cup noodles in yakatori chicken flavour so my mum made me a whole tub of them about the size of the one youve got and it was beautiful
Blessing to your Mum !
Your mom did her best to get rid of you. Yet she still failed /j
And then you never wanted to eat it again
What do you MEAN you refused to eat anything other than cup noodles 🥴 My parents would just throw me away fr 💀
As a guy that was born in Korea and started eating only noodles, I can confirm that it is infinite noodles unless you put special sauce
God I love Luke
Found this guy hilarious ever since the Trash Taste Photo Shoot video
He is fun, and I find his accent amazing.
my red flag is thinking I could eat the whole thing
But joey, if you boil exactly 2200ml of water, some of it's gonna steam away, you have to account for that!!!
I was thinking exactly that. 🤣. He needed to measure it as it came out
Pretty sure there's 2 more things at play:
Recepies usually account for boiling water being measured cold
And evaporation isn't that significant over the time to boil in quantities over a quarter litre.
It's something you account for if your boiling something continuously or reducing something purposely, but bringing 2L to a boil looses like *maybe* 10-20ml (
Not only the evaporation the amount of water splashing out from the impact of hitting the noodle also have to be accounted for.
THIS
The recipe accounts for that.
This video had taught me a valuable lesson: That the lady and the tramp spaghetti scene does not look at all romantic when done by actual people.
13:21 Love the Anitube version of Lady and the Tramp spaghetti scene 🥰🥰
Props to you for going for it. I can't imagine wanting to eat noodles ever again after making yourself sick eating all this.
The way Joey and Aki eats the noodles 😂😂😂

God I miss cup ramen. I developed and was diagnosed with a severe shellfish allergy awhile back, and most packages in the US say they're made in factories containing shellfish. It's tempting to just stock up on epipens and eat it in the hospital parking lot lmao.
I actually wonder, how does one develop a severe allergy? Like one day you can eat it and the next day it can kill you if it touches your tongue ever so slightly. Doesn’t make sense to me but is also kind of scary.
@DARKINBLADE. it's really weird. I was able to eat it my entire life, then one day I get Chinese for dinner and boom; I'm in the ER being told the shrimps made my throat close. Just the smell of it being cooked is enough to make my throat itch now.
this might not apply to u because allergies wildly vary from person to person, but i have a peanut allergy that’s also severe. had it once (by accident) and nearly died but unless a package says that it /contains/ peanuts, it’s usually safe for me to eat. like if it was made in a factory that uses peanuts or if it says smth like “may contain…”
again, might not apply to u
In my case, my dad's allergic but mine used to be mild, then after the pandemic it got to full blown swelling. Not caused by anything, it just got worse...maybe. I did eat some shrimp back in 2019 or early 2020 that was most likely left out for too long and no one thought anything was wrong, but I didn't know that it contained shrimp, so it was definitely a surprise to find my hands swelling, my body itching, and my stomach rebelling.
I k ow it's not the same but you could just buy noodles and make you're own base and toppings. I love fou d the white miso and hondashi are amazing. (Experiment with it for taste.. I find it a bit much sometimes) don't forget chili oil ramen either. Now that stuff leaves me speechless.
Man yall have the cutest banter its too good and dang I've never seen a noodle that big if love to see someone else take it on
When people say Japanese servings are small, show them this
Me, a texan: nah, this is Chinese buffet level which is basic
You know how servings work mate?
@@radornic2387 what about how a joke works?

Cameraman third wheeling them
One of my friends got something like this for me during our Track Meeting. I was a thrower and weighed about 250 lbs. I needed to eat a lot to be able to function, so I was able to eat the whole thing in one sitting. It's amazing how much you're able to eat if you work out a lot and stay in shape.
BRUUUH you and Aki giving out that content FOR FREE?! Happy holidays lol
Side note, this is literally a party size entree. A+ for effort.

I've seen videos of Japanese students sharing this among a big group of friends. I can't imagine trying to finish one of these by myself.
video started off with luke being joey’s cameraman..now joey is luke’s cameraman lmao
norn iron is taking over
I think it would be good for an easy dinner for parents who don't want to cook one day, instead of making like 5 individual cup noodles? Or maybe to share with friends when hanging out? Idk lol just some ideas since the packaging says not to eat alone
This would be for a boy/girl scout group of at least 6-8. After a hike. Or a study group of at least 6.
You're a parent and cooking instant noodles to your children? What a horrible way to live
@@frds_skce what's wrong with it??
@@dqrkliights_ it's very unhealthy and if you buy it often, it could mean you can't afford better food, have no time to cook or just lazy. No parent should be in those categories (well at least not lazy with their kids' food)
@@pastelmacaroon ah, yep I agree! junk food should only be eaten once in a while, not nearly everyday

Ooh! I have an idea! I love those survival channels that try military meals ready to eat. How about trying a Japanese MRE vs an Australian MRE? 💜
Luke being a third wheel is funny
I can see this being a 'friends get together to drink and eat yakisoba together' like they just sit around a table and eat together like that. It might be a good drunk food.
That measuring cup was made for that challenge. 4x550 ml = 2200 ml

I would see this as a massive moral booster during a natural disaster aftermath. Group meal, familiar flavour, hearty portions. Get another one and put it with the Aki: Just In Case kit.
You're so right about like, not understanding how you feel after you've eaten that much. All we're seeing is delicious yakisoba, but none of it is going into our mouths. We're programmed to be like "OH I COULD EAT THAT WHOLE THING", but there's that food-wall that makes each bite induce a new layer of nausea, no matter how good the food in question is.
I don't know why but it looks like a Japanese muckbang... Thank you Joey

That actually does sound like a fun thing to do for like a viewing party for a new anime or something: bring a big tray of Yakisoba for the group to split.

Yakisoba is my absolute favorite. Also the seaweed sprinkles... Idk what its called but its known in my family as green crack or rice crack because we discovered how good it was when we lived in japan like 20 years ago. Its some kind of seasoning.. I miss it!
That looks like what you'd make if you had a bunch of friends coming over! 🤣
i am OBSESSED with all the trinkets and what not in this room
I remember finding some noodles (can't remember but pretty sure they were korean noodles) that I really enjoyed. Like, every single time I got the opportunity to go and buy and eat those noodles, my day was at least 10% better no matter the situation.
And I bought like 4 of the noodle packs one day being on an empty stomach thinking that I will have the best meal ever. I was like... halfway through and I started feeling my stomach saying nope and then it became increasingly hard to the point where I almost felt disgusted. It's been over a year and I am still not fully recovered. I still have second thoughts before buying that noodle pack and when I cook it, I have a 50-50 chance of saying "fuck yeah" or "better get this over with quickly".
Joey looks extra glowy after the challenge. Must be the yakisodium working its magic ✨
for some reason I love Joey's eating video 😂

After watching this, I was curious what this brand tasted like, so I went and bought the exact brand at the local supermarket. I'm not crazy like Joey, though, so I only bought the 2-pack one that's 1/4 the size of this 8-pack box. LOL
I wonder if the 4184 kcal was on purpose because 1 kcal is roughly equivalent to 4.184kJ
Joey now contains more salt than the world's oceans combined
Dude, if you're boilling water, go slightly above the required amount because it is going to evaporate. Another thing, since there is a line that you can use in the noodle box, you can just boil more than 2200L of water and just eyeball the amount to pour into the box.
Meanwhile, Kinoshita Yuka would have inhaled all of that with a big smile on her face. This shows the massive difference between "normal" people and food fighters.
