lavish, excessive, decadent..... absolutely amazing..... it reminded me of the good old days of dior.... This show is like dolce & gabanna on steroids worked by galliano and mcqueen.... It is so wonderful to see real couture taken to the very limits of taste, workmanship and pure design.... Couture is back!!
The shoes are modeled after those that became popular in the early to mid twentieth century when foot-binding was made illegal. The shoes create a similar effect to foot-binding--the women are hobbled, but no matter--the women have status that suggests they do not work but have servants that wait on them. The size and shape of the lower part of the shoe imitates the size and shape of a bound foot. Notice the concentration of the models; to me they appear in fear of falling more than usual. What is the designer saying by using this footwear? Is it that women are again bound by their wealth? Or is the designer aware of the history of this style of shoe?
I wanna say she's original and all that comes with great creative vision, BUT, but something about her designs don't seem that original. As others have mentioned there is a lot Mcqueen and Galliano in her work. I guess time will tell if she's legit or just another quick fashion trend.
Have you SEEN her embroidery? It's breathtaking and takes so much damn skill and effort to pull off. I don't think she'd put in time to think of ways to rip other designs off when she's this good. And what Sarah said is true. Even well-known visual artists aren't 100% original. They take inspiration from previous art movements and create new ones from there. This woman is 100% "LEGIT".
Many years ago in London there was this lady who almost looked like one of these models. She was in her 50's and didn't care what everyone else thought. She went like this to co-op.
And here I was thinking they definitely wouldn´t make them all walk again in the end because many outfits didn´t seem easy to balance ...then the poor models had to go again... and then the poor model even got stuck with her sleve 25:20 , I hope she got paid very well
Magnificent. That first piece on the runway was so magical like something out of a fantasy or mythology. What painstaking detail and exquisite designs. I love her choice of music too--- Loreena McKennitt.
@@1flamingomoonespecially when you know the shoes are based on actual historical shoes. Not just shoes from China but in the 17 th and 18 th centuries women wore high block platform shoes to lift their feet from the mud and often raw sewage that flowed through the streets! 🥴
A lot better than the winter collection I just saw. I like how she draws from European elements My only problem is I hope the models don't hurt themselves while walking
First of all, call me ignorant about fashion, if you want. I don't care (I probably am). I just don't get one thing: Why do people say "They are imitating So And So" and, yet, I have looked at a lot of videos up here...and a number of designers are making similar styles? For instance, the sleeves that cover the hands and drape down to the floor or the big, long skirts that flow out in the back but have a huge slit up to the hip/thigh area are really popular. Or in wedding dresses, most designers are making the plunging Vs to the waist. So, how is it that the designer on Project Runway is accused of knocking off a famous designer, yet, in any given season, certain looks are in style...so most big name designers are making the same types of styles (and not accused of copying each other)? Another example, is almost every wedding dress designer makes a mermaid style dress...so why are they not accused of imitating someone else? It could be said that whoever designed the first mermaid style dress is now being copied. Or whoever designed the first ball gown wedding dress is being imitated...and so on throughout every popular wedding dress style. If I go to Wal*Mart, even, the styles are similar from brand to brand because a certain look or feature is what's in style right now. When maxi dresses came back, every brand or dsigner was pretty much making them. So, whose copying who? Bell sleeves are in, right now, and most brands or designers have clothes featuring them. Is this considered imitating or just a trend...and each designer is putting their own unique spin on that feature? In the eighties, I couldn't seem to buy a dress or shirt without shoulder pads (and I always removed them). So, see how, to a novice, it can seem like everyone just copies everyone? So, rather than saying one is just copying another, do we look for the unique details they put into a garment different from the other designers who are making similar fashions because that is the current trend? It would seem, no-one is really going to design something that hasn't been designed before. Most styles now, are just another era revisited with a modern take. I can't point to any designer that has made something I've never seen before (except maybe Guo Pei in some of her shows -- and that's the ones that are impractical to wear). Going from one fashion show video to another, it's like "Didn't I just see that in So And So"s collection? So, maybe someone can point out to me what makes one designer a true original so we can then say someone else copied or knocked off their design. Please don't cuss at me like I"m stupid and ignorant about fashion. I already said I probably am, and I hate cussing. I was just wanting to make the point and maybe get some feedback on what others would say to this.
God gave us web connection to connect people fans, let's just have FAITH and accept what .. the biggest boss above our heads decided for humans to be this creative. More than a heavy cage to out on , fans, wish you order fashion designers the Predator movie fantasy outfit, if you watch the movie, the kind of warrior shield to protect the fragile body, infact humans decided to put on warm clothing to protect themselves from cold or you know, from other predators in the wild life.
Why are all the models white (which the exception of a black girl here and there)? You'd think there would be a surplus of Asian models since the designer is Asian.
en voi muuta kuin suomen tasoa taidokkuutta muotiasioissa ihmetellä tasoa raittiina rehtinä reippaana suihkun raikkaana uuteen päivään puhtaalta pöydältä aurinkoistakesää teidän okm
amazing and lavish stuff indeed!.....but I cant help thinking the designer is more theatrical .....almost sci-fi without any ergonomics, which is important. ps.....those poor models in those shoes and crowns!! It feels that its just an indulgence of the diminutive designer's imagination coming to fruition.....lucky her!!
I admire the art, but I miss the older Guo Pei collection I saw. This deathly makeup and christian imagery gave me such a visceral sick feeling....like, here comes a modern religious zombie plague to utterly destroy humanity. I have a lot of respect for the skill that made this come in to being, and made me so incredibly uncomfortable.
I’m not loving the ‘stilted’ shoes, it’s too much. I love a high shoe, but this is too extreme, makes me nervous watching. Would prefer a lower heel and the walk faster. I get in person the slow walk gives your eyes time to take in all the 3D details, but for video purposes its a tad bit irritating.
19:50 Okayyy that's too much. I don't even consider that fashion or art anymore. This model is struggling to walk geez the dress must weigh at least 50 pounds. JUST LOOK AT HER, she's waddling like a penguin, that's not what a dress should do. People are saying stuff like "omg they're masterpieces!" 😑 they're just saying that because each of the dress is equivalent to the cost of a house so it's "art". Chanel, Gucci, others makes beautiful dresses, it's not too much that it looks ridiculous- AND WEARABLE.
lavish, excessive, decadent..... absolutely amazing..... it reminded me of the good old days of dior.... This show is like dolce & gabanna on steroids worked by galliano and mcqueen.... My sentiment exactly.
This show was an experience to remember, even from the internet!
who else got really annoyed by that guy Vaping during the show? like damn dude, can you not wait 30 mins?
He barely watches the show too... mostly looking at his phone
Same here, that dude is annoying
Haha !! It distracted me
Oh yes. Very distracting. Why is he rocking back and forth?
Always the same type shoes need something different horrible to watch afraid someone might fall!
That was heavenly!!
Wow! Sumptuously gorgeous. Just stunning 🤗
no words. this is stunning
Surréaliste 💓

Talk about Dracula in the red dress and white hair...
Carmen Dell'Orefice?
We've seen a more fabulous version of this in Galliano and McQueen, and they put on a SHOW
I wanna say she's original and all that comes with great creative vision, BUT, but something about her designs don't seem that original. As others have mentioned there is a lot Mcqueen and Galliano in her work. I guess time will tell if she's legit or just another quick fashion trend.
look at her year of her year of the dragon collection. she is beyond talented
Fantastic. She should start working with film makers. Specialy, fantasy ones.
her shows are hypnotic
It would be cool if people dressed like this all the time haha hunger games in real life...fashion wise lol
Many years ago in London there was this lady who almost looked like one of these models. She was in her 50's and didn't care what everyone else thought. She went like this to co-op.
just divine. I had saw this on Vogue Runway, but it's even better with music and watching the garment flow. Such a dream
0:58 I feel sorry for the model having to walk in those shoes while balancing that hat on the head...
And here I was thinking they definitely wouldn´t make them all walk again in the end because many outfits didn´t seem easy to balance ...then the poor models had to go again...
and then the poor model even got stuck with her sleve 25:20 , I hope she got paid very well
Yes, of course she got paid very well ! By the way, her name is Irina Kravchenko...
Wow, this is stunning! One of the very few couture shows I have enjoyed this season!
Her embroidery is absolutely beautiful. The outfits are a bit daring for my tastes, but the details...magnificent
Magnificent. That first piece on the runway was so magical like something out of a fantasy or mythology. What painstaking detail and exquisite designs. I love her choice of music too--- Loreena McKennitt.
I would’ve liked to of been able to see the back of the outfits
She did that first model so dirty lmfao! High heel shoes AND a narrow but tall headpiece that could fall at any moment!
Breathtaking. So many wonderfully dramatic and creative touches on those clothes. Not to mention the stunning embroidery. I want the crowns!
I forgot to say that I hope the models all got hazzard pay! I don't know how they walked in those shoes!
@@1flamingomoonespecially when you know the shoes are based on actual historical shoes. Not just shoes from China but in the 17 th and 18 th centuries women wore high block platform shoes to lift their feet from the mud and often raw sewage that flowed through the streets! 🥴
this is true high-fashion!
22:00 Carmen Dell'Orefice arrazou
Gloriously majestic hypnotic perfection, I just can't, I am obsessed
Wish we could bottle her creative mind
I feel the decadent Byzantine vibes and it's intoxicating.
The man who keep on smoking is so rude.
The runway/collection/show was absolutely mesmerizing!
even the mens outfit were serene. would love to see her mens collection
The fact she used Lorena mckenitts music in the back. She is an amazing and truly talented artist
19:28 is lady gaga outfit!
This bold guy 9:30 is disgusting. His behavior is totally dumb.
It is sad for how disrespectful some guests can be
A lot better than the winter collection I just saw. I like how she draws from European elements My only problem is I hope the models don't hurt themselves while walking

It's always the people who don't even know fashion and wear basketball shorts everyday that comment crap and think they know it all.
Love the design it's so amazing Guo Pei it's very original!
haute couture at is finnest .
Guo Pei justifies creativity. Embodies it. She is to fashion as Dimash is to music.
Ottoman Empire runs over Queens of Medeval Europe. Beautiful.... Throw in some Spanish Gold. Bella.
she's on a whole other wave omg

While I deeply admire her art, I find it awful to be able to see between the models’ thighs. Too skinny.
😊
Every one of her creations belongs in a museum. Breathtaking.
Biblical Futuristic is what I would call this
futuristic? rather, in its gorgeous somptuosity, blaspheme.istic!
MERVEILLEUX mais impossible a imiter dans la vrai vie
OMG I THOUGHT HUMPTY DUMPTY WAS GOING TO TAKE A HOUR TO WALK THROUGH
Can't see the back of the dresses. How annoying!!! Rubbish Cameraman.

This is borderline Galliano for Dior, reminiscent of Galliano's Haute Couture F/W 2004-2005
Omg, just the epitome of beauty…thank goodness for video…
FINALLY! Ready to wear for today's working women.
MAY I KNOW THE TITLE OF THE SONG? :) ANYWAY I LOVE GUO PEI'S CREATIONS!
Guo Pei really have some extrodinary artisans in her team, that can bring her visions to such stunning reality!

Art can be magical and these pieces are just that...magical!
Im curious as to why catwalk is so narrow and a lot of the dresses are so wide? like at 16:56 and 25:42
Simplesmente lindo uma verdadeira obra de arte parabéns a todos os idealizadores deste trabalho👏👏🇧🇷
Not meant for everyday wear, I think. But where?
Мне вспомнилась картина Репина " Садко в подводном царстве" ,есть что- то русское в этом показе ...
I can't see it. Maybe in a fantasy movie, but thats about it.
The end red - can’t have words to express…too lovely
Wow absolutely magnificent! 😮❤
Theirs a lot of lamp shade and chandeliers walking.
So how does she make money? People can't wear any of these.
I want to see those shoes!
Wonderful to watch Carmen walk.
I can feel the terror coming off some of the models.
Very Russian orthodox inspired!
All the crosses, and the kirie elaison in the background
Ни одна не улыбнется. Рожи, как будто кирпичом приложили.
amazing dresses big diversity problem
Благо дарю за вдохновляющие идеи.🖒🖒🖒💖💖💖
That first model really earned her money!
I'm in love.

unbelievably tacky. she was better before she was doing paris couture week
Very very nice. Who would imagine a combination of nature, victorian fashion, crowns and religious icons/jewelry could look so interesting?
And isn’t she cute!!!!!
😊
She is from outer universe.
Spellbinding!
awsome

so crazy beautiful... only question I have is, what occasion do you wear any of them to...?
Superbbb!!
Ambiance religious and mystic for this show. Beautiful and bold!
