THANK YOU. Was just changing mine outside & said uh oh, my spring's on the outside lol makes more logical sense to have it on the outside, pushing the filter onto the oil tube
Noticed this too and had to double check some other vids! Kind of irresponsible to leave this video up as-is! Not sure pinning this comment is enough for people to notice, and with the spring in like this video suggests your oil isn't being filtered...
Oops. I just got this bike and changed the oil and filter as it was done in the video. Therefore, I have spring, filter then cover. Will I loose all my oil if I remove the filter and move the spring to proper position?
@@peterharris9005 You won't lose much maybe a forth of a cup, but you need to fix it. It will run and have oil pressure but your oil is not being filtered assembled that way.
You don’t understand how grateful I am of this series. I just got one with 7k miles and second owner for 350 bucks. Everything seems great just been sitting for a really long time. I don’t really know much about the bike and found these videos
@@CashedOutCars haha.. we’ll yes the bike has plenty of performance upgrades nothing cheap by any means. But what I found was a small crack along the entire casing all the way over into the transmission side. I tore it apart and whoever built it didn’t install the kick starter correctly and it binded with the flywheel or something and cracked the entire case is what I’m thinking. Literally brand new parts all over and inside this thing but a cracked block… wish I could find a stock bottom end to rebuild this with but sadly there isn’t a single one for parts in my area. Soooo it’s back to the drawing board cause for an old bike these parts are a little pricy
THANK YOU!!! Bright lighting, good camera angle, and time lapse of you actually doing the steps. Looking forward to watching the rest of the series. Do you check the oil level with the bike on the side stand?
Hello, I have a 1998 DRES 350 and thought you were going to just going to hit the button to start it. I was amazed at how you have a kick starter too. I was unsure if it was possible to have both. How did you do it? Brian Maximum Suzuki member
hello i have one question regarding this engine model is the oil checked when the engine is cold or when it warms up so it is checked after shutting down?
Run for a few mins, stop engine and leave for 5 mins. Check oil level. If you do the check on a cold engine there's a good chance oil has drained rom the frame reservoir to the sump giving you a false low reading.
OK first off you didn't take the oil filler cap off and second you put the spring first and then you put on the oil filter cap that is wrong! you're supposed to put on the filter and then you put the spring in the cap (it literally has a little nipple for the spring to fit over) the spring goes on the outside that's why there's a little groove on the engine oil filter on the outside it's for the spring.
@@CashedOutCars I really appreciate the knowledge, you are a great help and I thank you. Now I have a question if I may? I just noticed my dipstick was a little low and put an ounce or so of Castrol (with friction modifiers) into my frame tank before I knew better. Should j cancel the ride I was planning or will it be sufficiently diluted?
@@CashedOutCars ia had the same opinion as you. And you seem like a competent mechanic so I've done the research and let n her roll. My DR is kick only but lots of fun, I just got it s month ago and finally have tags upon it, no more trailer to go riding for me!! It starts great but makes the loud tic tic noise so many of them do
YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH OIL FLOW, THE ENGINE WILL SEIZE UP IF YOU FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS, kid talks the talk but can't walk the walk, he's been riding around with his filter pushed away from its mating face, doh !

The spring goes on the outside of the filter pushing the filter and sealing it on the o ring. Filter, spring then cover. Otherwise great video.
Good catch, I just reassembled it as it was already done without thinking about it. Thanks!
I noticed that too thank you for clarifying! Luckily the person before me had it right

This was well done. Very clear and well explained.
For years I didn't know about that mesh screen. Oh boy. Will be doing the oil change soon. Little nervous!
Let us know how it goes! Good luck!
Only a few shavings and otherwise a very clean screen! I was lucky!
MORE DR350 VIDEOS PLEASE!!!!!
Stay tuned for Tuesday’s video, I think you’ll enjoy it!
Great video! Without unnecessary information. Thanks for the help !
Awesome video! Very informative. Nice DR!

I have this bike so these videos are amazing ty
filter, spring, cover, in that order, NOT THE WAY HE SHOWS HOW TO DO IT. .
Excellent video, really good!
This video was great, thanks!

Awesome vid man thanks for posting!
Great video man!
Appreciate it!
Awesome Video!
Thank you! I’m happy to help!
Thanks for the vid. Nice bike. What’s tires are you running and how do you like them on and off road? Looking to get a new set for mine. Thanks.
Tried to follow the link for the oil filters… I guess it is bad now. What oil filter is it?
Merci pour la vidéo ;)

I believe 98 model year or near 98 was starter only but all other models with electric start also had a kick starter
Благодарю за обзор 🤙
Thank you
You’re welcome!

I weight 250 lbs what set rear shock on?
How many miles can a 350 1992 can last ? Overall
Nice one
Thanks man!
Also it takes 2 liters of oil
Buy two, fill until it’s full on the dipstick, run it for a bit and check it. You could put all in but then you risk overfilling

@@Hugh-GlassI’d think that’s such a small amount it’d be fine, but you can do some more research to be sure
