I love how fragrances can smell so different on people and so different to people’s noses. I have never been a patchouli lover but received a sample of 54 and loved it. I was actually shocked. The craziest part is not that I actually loved it but it is a fragrance that I have received strong compliments on every single time I have worn it. As someone who has way too many fragrances, I still love when I discover one that surprises me. Love your videos!

I love both Cocoa Kimaya and 54! Cracks me up. I do trust your opinions, but for this video we definitely diverge!! Maybe in the future I’ll prioritize for testing the ones you most disliked…except if you hate a gourmand, I know I’ll hate it, too. It’s a special day when I actually enjoy a gourmand.

Wow yes same with the OG Mojave Ghost for me too! It reminds me of a more refined, dry Daisy and your description of it making your throat feel dry - yes absolutely my experience. D’annam is super beautiful. Their fragrances tell a story about culture and the maker’s life experience. There are several hits for me from both collections. Even the ones that I wouldn’t wear day to day are beautiful and the whole sampling experience is lovely. I hope they broaden their options for the sample sets in more countries. I want everyone to be able to try them. If you have questions about any particular fragrance, I’d love to share my experience and hopefully others will chime in too so you can get an arrangement of opinions. I will say that I have had so many coworkers get excited over D’annam fragrances. A variety of people, where something hits differently for each person and I give them the remainder of the vial so they can experience it too. Happy to share my experience and any feedback I’ve gotten.

It finally occurred to me after following you for 3 years 🤔 that we don’t necessarily have the same taste. I have been really interested in BTSO as a fragrance house, but still haven’t found ‘the one’ to bring into my collection yet. From the sounds of it, it likely won’t be Naked Laundry either haha I’m interested in Byredo as well, but the price point and uninspired bottles haven’t been ideal. I did get to try Jusbox Fifty Four at Lucky Scent in LA a few weeks after Sebastian’s launch. I didn’t love it either 🤷🏻♀️

I love Theodoro Kalotinis fragrances. I’m a gourmand girl to the core. But I was even put off by even the very notion of Cinnamon Rolls, knowing how “literal” his food fragrances are. Cherry Powder and Almond Tart are beautiful! The Vanilla and the Choclate ones are not sugary sweet, but very smooth and more aromatic to my nose. I’m waiting on Cotton Candy and I also ordered his fragrance Musk. I love musks and want to try a non-gourmand fragrance from the house. We’ll see… great video content.

Appreciated your review of these. Totally agree about Brompton Immortals...it's nice but nothing I haven't smelled before. Definitely not worth the price. I also enjoyed Choux Choux but it wore really lightly on my skin. Was NOT a fan of Cocoa Kimiya either, but at least it was better than Kawa Karda. That one was awful!

Happy New Year, Veronica! 🎆 Love hearing your reviews on your sampling journey. I've tried a few of those you sampled. Brompton Immortals, I think, is definitely worth a full-day wear on skin. I'm not a huge fan of rose but it's such a beautiful scent that it could convert me, haha. It's also quite pricey, so that kind of stopped me from getting a full bottle. Like you I LOVE Sospiro Maraschino! I completely used up my 2-ml sample and missed it so much that I had to have a full bottle! It sort of gives me an Erba Pura fruit-bowl vibe with cherry on top, but I find it a lot smoother (not screechy at all), wearable and likable than the former. Lastly, I agree with you about Jusbox 54. I like the chocolatey facets of the patchouli that emerge, but all in all it's too heavy of a patchouli for me to wear. For a love-at-first-sniff collab I tried recently, do try to get a sample or decant of Ryziger's Attraction Fatale, by Curly Fragrance! (I got my decant from Etsy.). It's a really likable, unique scent created by Chris Maurice/Christian Carbonnel, who I think's one of the most talented perfumers out there. Curly meant it as the fragrance of her "dream man," but TBH I think it would work as a unisex fragrance as well! If you find it too masculine, your husband may like it. I highly recommend! We are all so different. I got a sample of 54 and was over the moon for it….just got my full bottle on Monday. Adore this scent….can’t get enough of it. Now I have a sample of Sirens and Sailors from Jusbox and will be getting a full bottle of that next month and I am not a rose scent person very often but this I can tolerate. Got Carioca Heart last Summer….was my scent all Summer. All three were created by Julian Rasquenate…sorry for the mis-spelling on that.
I completely agree about Cinnamon Rolls by TK! You described it perfectly. Actually, I have sampled many TK fragrances, and none have worked out for me. 🤔
I didn't like Mojave Ghost either. Jaxbeautifulyou said Jus Box 54 was too masculine for her as well, so imma pass on that decant😂. Did you like Blue Heart by Thameen? I love that one.

I find these types of videos very helpful as they can determine whether I splurge or save👌👌. I have a travel spray of Brompton Immortals and I absolutely love it😍😍. I have not tried anything from BTSO yet, I will make time this year to do so🤔🤔. Stay gorgeous 🥰🥰
Veronica, I agree on 54. I purchased it when it initially came out from Harrods. It was not for me. It's marketed as a gourmand but I don't see it. All I got was patchouli. I ended up selling it on Mercari for a loss.

I was curious so, looked it up, and yes, Laura Ashley did make perfumes in the 80’s. I am intrigued by Choux Choux, so may try a sample. I did get my sample of Reflet Sur L’ Kavango, and I REALLY like it, but am I crazy, or does it remind you of the Narciso cubes (not sure which one)? It has that Poudre aspect, but also the acacia floral note. I also tried Cri Du Kalahari from Ella K, and that one isn’t for me. Nice opening but the dry down, not so much. I can’t describe it. I hope you don’t lose your power. I know how that goes. We also lose power several times a year due to wind, snow, ice and many many trees over above ground power lines. That is why I insisted on a wood stove when we moved into our new place, and it’s a very good thing I did! Stay cozy!!

I had the same experience with Monica! It’s lovely but not one I would choose to wear regularly. I struggle with the Gritti DNA. But it’s the only Gritti I’ve tried that I can actually smell as it was meant to be smelled - all of the others smell like gasoline to me. 😅 But this one I enjoy! It reminded me somewhat of Peony & Blush Suede.
I felt the same about Cinnamon Rolls. I felt like I was inhaling sweet cinnamon straight from the jar in my kitchen. Luckily I only had a 5ml decant, so I layered it and it worked well for that. I much preferred Pistachio Latte that was released at the same time.

I thought I hated cherry fragrances, because the first one I tried was Rouge Smoking by BDK, which makes me queasy. I've tried more since, and now I love the note. My favourite is Cherry Punk by Room 1015, but I also love Duchessa by Gritti and Sirene by FDB. Haven't tried Maraschino by Sospiro yet, but I think I need to.
Rouge Smoking is a big odd, isn't it? Some days I liked it and some days... not so much. You have some AMAZING cherry fragrances. Give Maraschino a try! 🥰

I think of my fragrances as warm or cool, too. I decide what fragrance to wear matching it to the color of my clothes, I wear both cool and warm colors (and therefor fragrances)
Oooh yay a high rating for my Animalique!!! 🥰🫶🏻 I always say that it's so similar to Oh La La to me, so it's a bit repetitive in my collection as well, but now I really need to smell Ombré leather!! ❤❤❤
Yes Fifty Four works in the far dry-down, that's when I get a chocolatey patchouli and the coconut only from the piña colada. The dry-down also reminds me of Kayali Sugared Patchouli, but maybe that's because of the similar notes lol. Besides that the opening is an experience, way too much bitter rum, and dirty patchouli for me. Very masculine
54 for me is a pass also. It is a beautiful scent but it is not for me. I prefer Patchouli Paris. Also I recently tested Siren and to my nose all it smells like is ambroxan, so it is a pass also.
Curious about how Valaya Exclusif is going to smell. This is one I am excited about and concerned at the same time since I love the original. The price is crazy.
The crazy price perfume! I get it. I just get 2 ml samples from scent split to see if it's a love. Also they sell 5 ml 10 ml I can't afford a full bottle and who can actually empty a full bottle. Not me.
By the way I sample erba gold in the store and ordered a whole 3oz bottle, smelled completely different. Like the bottle smelled really artificial and perfumey, but the samples smelled fruity in a natural dewy way.

I love Byredo Animalique and don't find it masculine at all. It's quite womanly on me. It's a great everyday wear for me in spring, summer, fall. It has enough interest not to bore me in warmer weather when I am not wearing my beloved complex, winter heavy-hitters and yet it is still an everyday perfume for me.

I was thinking the same! I was expecting a patch bomb because Sebastian loves patchouli, and I was surprised it was all intense pina colada on me. But I did think it was too masculine and too beast mode for me. I would like it and notice it on a man though.
I've heard and read lots of reviews on it. It seems some get the piña colada part while others get slapped in the face with patchouli. Interesting! Seems like a divisive scent experience! 😯
I think based on Sebastian's videos, patchouli is his favourite note, so there's no surprise it is prominent in a perfume he collaborated on. Personally, I like patchouli when it is part of the composition but not the main player. Somehow, almost every fragrance I have tried that has patchouli as the most prominent note reads masculine to me, and while I may enjoy it on the opposite sex, I'm not one of those women who can carry off or enjoy wearing masculine scents. When it comes to Byredo, I have always felt they are way overpriced and overhyped for what they are.

I have been really interested in BTSO as a fragrance house, but still haven’t found ‘the one’ to bring into my collection yet. From the sounds of it, it likely won’t be Naked Laundry either haha I’m interested in Byredo as well, but the price point and uninspired bottles haven’t been ideal. I did get to try Jusbox Fifty Four at Lucky Scent in LA a few weeks after Sebastian’s launch. I didn’t love it either 🤷🏻♀️

I love Theodoro Kalotinis fragrances. I’m a gourmand girl to the core. But I was even put off by even the very notion of Cinnamon Rolls, knowing how “literal” his food fragrances are. Cherry Powder and Almond Tart are beautiful! The Vanilla and the Choclate ones are not sugary sweet, but very smooth and more aromatic to my nose. I’m waiting on Cotton Candy and I also ordered his fragrance Musk. I love musks and want to try a non-gourmand fragrance from the house. We’ll see… great video content.

Appreciated your review of these. Totally agree about Brompton Immortals...it's nice but nothing I haven't smelled before. Definitely not worth the price. I also enjoyed Choux Choux but it wore really lightly on my skin. Was NOT a fan of Cocoa Kimiya either, but at least it was better than Kawa Karda. That one was awful!

Happy New Year, Veronica! 🎆 Love hearing your reviews on your sampling journey. I've tried a few of those you sampled. Brompton Immortals, I think, is definitely worth a full-day wear on skin. I'm not a huge fan of rose but it's such a beautiful scent that it could convert me, haha. It's also quite pricey, so that kind of stopped me from getting a full bottle. Like you I LOVE Sospiro Maraschino! I completely used up my 2-ml sample and missed it so much that I had to have a full bottle! It sort of gives me an Erba Pura fruit-bowl vibe with cherry on top, but I find it a lot smoother (not screechy at all), wearable and likable than the former. Lastly, I agree with you about Jusbox 54. I like the chocolatey facets of the patchouli that emerge, but all in all it's too heavy of a patchouli for me to wear. For a love-at-first-sniff collab I tried recently, do try to get a sample or decant of Ryziger's Attraction Fatale, by Curly Fragrance! (I got my decant from Etsy.). It's a really likable, unique scent created by Chris Maurice/Christian Carbonnel, who I think's one of the most talented perfumers out there. Curly meant it as the fragrance of her "dream man," but TBH I think it would work as a unisex fragrance as well! If you find it too masculine, your husband may like it. I highly recommend! We are all so different. I got a sample of 54 and was over the moon for it….just got my full bottle on Monday. Adore this scent….can’t get enough of it. Now I have a sample of Sirens and Sailors from Jusbox and will be getting a full bottle of that next month and I am not a rose scent person very often but this I can tolerate. Got Carioca Heart last Summer….was my scent all Summer. All three were created by Julian Rasquenate…sorry for the mis-spelling on that.

Veronica, I agree on 54. I purchased it when it initially came out from Harrods. It was not for me. It's marketed as a gourmand but I don't see it. All I got was patchouli. I ended up selling it on Mercari for a loss.

I was curious so, looked it up, and yes, Laura Ashley did make perfumes in the 80’s. I am intrigued by Choux Choux, so may try a sample. I did get my sample of Reflet Sur L’ Kavango, and I REALLY like it, but am I crazy, or does it remind you of the Narciso cubes (not sure which one)? It has that Poudre aspect, but also the acacia floral note. I also tried Cri Du Kalahari from Ella K, and that one isn’t for me. Nice opening but the dry down, not so much. I can’t describe it. I hope you don’t lose your power. I know how that goes. We also lose power several times a year due to wind, snow, ice and many many trees over above ground power lines. That is why I insisted on a wood stove when we moved into our new place, and it’s a very good thing I did! Stay cozy!!

I had the same experience with Monica! It’s lovely but not one I would choose to wear regularly. I struggle with the Gritti DNA. But it’s the only Gritti I’ve tried that I can actually smell as it was meant to be smelled - all of the others smell like gasoline to me. 😅 But this one I enjoy! It reminded me somewhat of Peony & Blush Suede.

I felt the same about Cinnamon Rolls. I felt like I was inhaling sweet cinnamon straight from the jar in my kitchen. Luckily I only had a 5ml decant, so I layered it and it worked well for that. I much preferred Pistachio Latte that was released at the same time.

I thought I hated cherry fragrances, because the first one I tried was Rouge Smoking by BDK, which makes me queasy. I've tried more since, and now I love the note. My favourite is Cherry Punk by Room 1015, but I also love Duchessa by Gritti and Sirene by FDB. Haven't tried Maraschino by Sospiro yet, but I think I need to.
Rouge Smoking is a big odd, isn't it? Some days I liked it and some days... not so much. You have some AMAZING cherry fragrances. Give Maraschino a try! 🥰

I think of my fragrances as warm or cool, too. I decide what fragrance to wear matching it to the color of my clothes, I wear both cool and warm colors (and therefor fragrances)

Yes Fifty Four works in the far dry-down, that's when I get a chocolatey patchouli and the coconut only from the piña colada. The dry-down also reminds me of Kayali Sugared Patchouli, but maybe that's because of the similar notes lol. Besides that the opening is an experience, way too much bitter rum, and dirty patchouli for me. Very masculine

54 for me is a pass also. It is a beautiful scent but it is not for me. I prefer Patchouli Paris. Also I recently tested Siren and to my nose all it smells like is ambroxan, so it is a pass also.

By the way I sample erba gold in the store and ordered a whole 3oz bottle, smelled completely different. Like the bottle smelled really artificial and perfumey, but the samples smelled fruity in a natural dewy way.

I love Byredo Animalique and don't find it masculine at all. It's quite womanly on me. It's a great everyday wear for me in spring, summer, fall. It has enough interest not to bore me in warmer weather when I am not wearing my beloved complex, winter heavy-hitters and yet it is still an everyday perfume for me.

I was thinking the same! I was expecting a patch bomb because Sebastian loves patchouli, and I was surprised it was all intense pina colada on me.
But I did think it was too masculine and too beast mode for me. I would like it and notice it on a man though.
I've heard and read lots of reviews on it. It seems some get the piña colada part while others get slapped in the face with patchouli. Interesting! Seems like a divisive scent experience! 😯

I think based on Sebastian's videos, patchouli is his favourite note, so there's no surprise it is prominent in a perfume he collaborated on. Personally, I like patchouli when it is part of the composition but not the main player. Somehow, almost every fragrance I have tried that has patchouli as the most prominent note reads masculine to me, and while I may enjoy it on the opposite sex, I'm not one of those women who can carry off or enjoy wearing masculine scents. When it comes to Byredo, I have always felt they are way overpriced and overhyped for what they are.
