I don’t care what anyone says. Live in Gdańsk is the most polished performance David Gilmour has ever produced. Every song he is flawless. The whole band is flawless. RIP Rick
This last conversation between David and Rick was/is absolutely amazing and the best ever!
This was the last time Rick Wright played (keyboards/vocals) on Echoes (2006). After Rick passed in 2008, David said he would not play Echoes again. Such an incredible performance.
I can't believe it has been 14 years that Rick had been gone still sad. if Rick was still here wonder what kind of new music would have come to be
@@jeffreywolff329 i was in tears watching the interplay between david and rick and knowing we will never see this live again. rip, rick. huge loss.
David Gilmour is a great musician!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my fav version
I believe this might be the final perfomance of Echoes, done live. Pink Floyd founding member Richard Wright passed away from cancer some months after. Wright's melodic keyboards, synths and backing harmonies were integral to the Floyd's sound. And with Rick gone it just wouldn't be propper. For me Echoes is very special. One, it was on Meddle, the first Floyd album I bought. And two, it was at a time when all four bandmates pulled together as a team. That being said, I have wasted a large part of my adult life futilely trying to get my Stratocaster to make those same sounds........
Gdansk, in my opinion, is David Gilmour's best performance. Echoes is incredible.
Most epic bridge ever.
Basically this was a conversation between Rick and David kind of like goodbye enjoyed playing with you David knew about Ricks Cancer long before he died this was the last concert
Music 2.0 right there.
We will forever be stuck on 1.0. Pink Floyd was an anamoly, like Neo in the Matrix. Something that shouldn't have happened, but did.
I am glad it did.
It's not really about being patient. It's more about enjoying the whole journey and not just "waiting for the next bit", it's all 1 masterpiece. So the whole journey is spectacular, so it's about learning to savour every second. It may take time for people who are new to our era of music like Pink Floyd to learn to appreciate the whole piece of mastery that's been laid out for you but I believe in you Risby. You're doing great keep going on this journey 🎶
Yeah, people mistake relaxing and enjoying for being patient.
Waiting is patience, relaxing is not, it's just relaxing.
Fun Fact: the guitar strap with the X's that David Gilmour is wearing used to belong to Jimi Hendrix. His wife purchased it for him at auction. BTW: the video cut off at about 24 minutes while they were still playing.
The best ECHOES in my opinion and the last before Rick passed - very special especially the riffing between Rick and David😊 plus you get Phil Manzanera on second guitar ex Roxy Music as well as Guy Pratt who played bass in Pink Floyd when Miseryguts left
Thanks bro...shame it cut off to early at the end would of like to know what you thought of it. That last 1 minute of David and Richard was their last as Richard was terminal and Dave knew.. hence the emotion to this track. Nice job
David GILMOUR !!!😎...and he's Blackstrat 🎸!
You should close your eyes while you listen yo this version, it takes you on an entire different journey.
Some people say that "Echoes " put P.F. on the map. Same concert " on an Island' a bow clap at the end from the orchestra. Next " A Great Day for Freedom" ****************** reported 100,000 people watching. RIP Rick . Same guitar as in 1971 " Echoes" with a few faders.
If you have no patience you will not enjoy David Gilmours guitar. His concert you sit and LISTEN to. except " Run Like Hell". When you leave the concert people hardly say a word after what they just listen too
Too bad your video was cut short.
Ps live from gdansk has some great classics....A Great Day for freedom track has and awesome solo...better than the album one.
And why would you cut the video?
rip richard.......and pompei version
the song is about a volcano going off
Sadly you missed the amazing climax. A shame. 🫣
Best version of this song.
