So if you decrease the amount of 4th tier beast handlers below 4 (1 tier 5 + 3 supporting 4th tiers) then the 5th tier beast will not listen to the orders anymore and therefore stay inactive. That method should be relatively easy to create by adding a code that reads "Keep a record of the amount of 4th tier beast handler supporting the 5th tier. If amount is less than 3, set the attack rate of 5th tier beast to 0 / deactivate the interaction of the 5th tier beast.". This would still allow players to reposition the placements of their beast handlers by selling the 4th tiers and buying new ones while at the same time preventing the players from cheesing a max powered 5th tier out for free.
beast handler is really cool imo, its just that: a) people dont like it for the complexity and b) paths other than the middle path are kinda forgotten about due to impracticality... megalodon is not good for area attack and poukai isnt good for single target

A nice way to fix this would be to allow the player to buy the T5 with just a max power T4 instead of 4 T4s. Since T4s will no longer be used to merge for the T5, there will be no more selling the remaining 3 T4s to instantly get max Beast Power for the T5. This change is also an indirect buff to the price of the T5s which could help the Beast Handler be played more since the Beast Handler overall is a very underrated tower that not many people use.
Yeah if something were to be done to naturally bring down the price of the T4 and T5 for the Handler, I'd use it more often. But it's outrageously expensive and isn't worth it at all unless you're getting a max-power T5. So if you aren't playing a map with that sole intention, it just never makes sense to use that tower to begin with.
I don't see why the beasthandler is so underrated. He's a very good tower to start in chimps, if you place one beast well and micro the other. I also like to use the giant condor to make two path maps into a one path map. The tier 4 beasts are powerful enough, no need for the tier 5s.
You know there's a difference between discount and cashback, right? For it to be free it needs to be discounted to 0, otherwise it's not free, you're just getting a 100% or more cashback, for which you need to have the initial sum anyway.
I don't think this was intended tho it may be because the interaction happens entirely because of price. I see one solution to this. They need to make the price to beast power ratio approximately equal from t1 to t4

I think players just don't like how micro intensive it can be sometimes. I know I do. So untill I get really good at the game I'll only use them when I get a t5 insta somehow 😂
Also, top path really sucks , worst than being a weak tower is an inconsistent tower and out of the 3 paths, tier 4 top path especially is really inconsistent which is not great especially 4 impoppable/chimps which are the most important game modes for a tower to be Balanced to imo

At max you only need 4 beast handlers for a tier 4 or tier 5, and anything else is just extra. It isn't necessary to be efficient and spam towers if you don't want to, and the beast handler is powerful enough anyway.
Micro's not the problem for me. I hate how expensive it is, both in terms of money (unreliable costs since you have to get multiple) and space (several towers for one damage source, it's like merging a horde of lesser towers together for a paragon but all the space used for the sacrifices is still used after the fact) I also hate that it's the only tower in the game where crosspathing has 0 benefit. If you have enough money for a tier 4 or 5 beast, I guarantee whatever little fish, raptors, or birds the crosspathing can get you are NOT going to make a difference.

I tried the xx5 a lot in some of it's best maps but naah it is just too weak and stressful to get on top of that it is like a 80k tower for t5 nah for that price I expect it to do a lot more

Highly misleading title. the megadon dosnt cost 0. Also the fact that upgrading them isnt power efficent has always been a thing and known since the start. The problem is how many towers you need to get it to a high level, resulting in taking alot of space
