Seriously dude, forget the wicked good lesson, just your vibes literally feels healing. It's like, "oh, that's what it's like to grounded!" I actually practice echoing your words as a way to maybe train my brain to have a calmer and kinder route to speech. Like, to echo you, actually helps me feel grounded and accepting. No joke. Thank you much.
The Tao of twang! The Bob Ross of tele teaching! Luv luv your stuff! Been putting it to work all over the neck and getting lost in the moment.. Much thanks sir
Another way to find the 5th is to view the 2nd inversion (5-1-3) triads nested inside the pentatonic shape. Bam! 5th of each chord you are chasing. This triad exists on either side of the pentatonic grip for all shapes, it neatly surrounds the root notes which we know where they live in each caged shape. Thanks Dave.
Yes great idea and thanks for taking it up Dave. Linking your lessons to previous ones where it makes sense enables progress and development of knowledge and skills. You are then presenting progressive lessons rather that "one offs". Thanks
It’s all done in GarageBand. Sounds great and it’s free! Trying to put together a video about making the loops, amp modeling, etc. I use a Focusrite Scarlett as I/O
@@TaoOfTwangGuitarLessons thanks Dave! It does sound great. I'll look into it.. Again, thank you for your time and knowledge as it is very much appreciated 👍
Hey LA. I was putting some of them up on Google Drive and posting links sometimes but all storage sites have limits. Some “Twangers” have been able to take the loops from the videos and get them into their own looping stations/ software, etc and you are welcome to do that. I just ask that if they get posted online anywhere that everyone give credit to Tao of Twang ✌️🙏😎🎸
It's not a stupid question. If you play the chord progression over and over and use your ear you'll recognise the chord changes. It'll become ingrained. Using triads like Dave does in this video links the lead to the chord progression. The chords (triads) are a big part of the lead. The rest is mainly major pentatonic. For example, looking at a piece of Dave's solo between 3:47 and 3:57, over the A chord he plays an A triad (1st inversion) on the D, G and B strings and then some major pentatonic (pattern 4. If you look at pattern 4 of the major pentatonic scale you'll see that triad nestled within it). Then over the G chord he plays a fragment of the same triad shape he used over the A chord but two frets down - just the D and G notes on the G and B strings. Then just the notes D and F# on the G and B strings over the D chord. That's a fragment of a 2nd inversion D triad (A shape). Then over A, a 1st inversion A triad on the top 3 strings (notes A, E and C#). Hope this helps. Steve
Dave, used to be we could list your videos either from "newest to oldest" (default) " or from "oldest to newest", which was my favorite way to appreciate the progression of your lessons. But now the choices are either "recently uploaded" or "popular", which makes reversing the order incredibly tedious. I wrote UA-cam about it but got no response. Any insight?
Thanks man. This helps cause I’ve been wondering why everybody was having so much trouble with these bundled lessons. I’m coming up with better ways to reference material on the channel and reworking the playlists 😎✌️🎸
@@TaoOfTwangGuitarLessons Perhaps numbering your lessons from 1 to ... 203 (like episodes in a good novel!) could be a simple solution. I started early on going at it via the playlists. But I soon discovered I was missing pertinent stuff, so I started from scratch, first lesson and so on. Up to #54 now (the last Show Me The Licks, #12) and having a blast!
@themagdude this is what Brian from active melody does and it is extremely helpful. He also uses his numbering system to reference other Larson’s all the time.

love your stuff,
linking videos with same backing track would be excellent.
Hey Ken! Getting on top of that more going forward. Great to hear from you.✌️🙏😎🎸
Man, my guitars suddenly start making occational musical sounds. Wow, maybe they aren”t all broken after all. 😂🙏🏻
That’s good news lol! I guarantee you sound better than you think 🎸🔥
Hi Dave! What are you using for an amp?
Do you rotate or is it always the same amp?

I can here a little Dickie Betts in that opening jam.

Dave, a stupid question, how do you know which chord is playing while improvising with everything you've presented?

Hey George 🎸😎✌️
What strings do you use on your Tele?
Usually DR Tite Fit 10-46. I’ll use Boomers too cause I’m cheap lol. I change strings often 😎
