By the way, since you all want to know...we have been married since 2001 and we live in Southern California. We've got 3 amazing grown kids and 5 absolutely adorable grandkids.

And when it comes to being picked by the attorneys for jury duty….This one attorney asked me do I trust police officers…and I responded by saying yes I trust the police officers…it’s the attorneys I don’t trust! Guess who didn’t get picked or even summoned again! Love it!

The guy sleeping next to you reminded me of a case I was on, a man on our jury fell asleep while we were listening to the evidence in the court room! I was like jeez dude your not gonna know if this lady is guilty or not! 🤷🏼♀️🤦♀️

They allow you to have your phone on? In my County you can't have your phone on when you're in the room waiting.
Most juror assembly rooms allow you to bring in phones and computers, they even provide free internet access. They do this because they recognize a lot of people need to get work done or for those that want to stream movies to pass the time.
It's rare to find a Juror Assembly room these days that only allows a book or magazine.

I served once and it also settled so no trial. Bummer.

My jury service was horrible, not going to go into details but her children were taken away. However when past etc read out along with the case best decision. I cried for weeks but I knew I was right. Because of this I will never be called again... It's tough. However I watch American court cases. Watched Waukesha parade.. so glad he got what he deserved but it broke my heart

My daughter lives in Alice Springs. She says I will be comfortable there versus Denver CO this time of year. I don't like hot hot temps.

I think 2 weeks of jury duty for Steph would have been a mini vacation from you Steve. Sorry but after so many years of being married it's nice to have a break from your spouse for a little while.
I use to tell my husband, "Hon, I'm going to Walmart now." 3 or 4 hours later I'd come home with the groceries. It took my husband a l-o-n-g time to finally say to me," You go to "Walmart " to take a break from me, huh??!!! Yes, dear but I also go to Goodwill, Menard's ( a big box hardware store), Ulta, Target, TJ Maxx, Ross and Meijer (another grocery store)." My poor husband was shocked that I could check out that many stores in a 4 hour time period and STILL grocery shop. 😂 BUT I was smart enough to come home with his favorite snacks or ice cream. True love! 😂💕

Got called for jury duty, got to watch JAWS which was awesome! Then the judge came out and the attorneys and the defendant. We went through all the questions, then out of nowhere, the defendant just stood up and got sick everywhere!!! Luckily everyone was spaced far enough away from her, that nobody got splashed lol And then we were all sent home. This was towards the end of covid, meaning we still had to wear masks. Can I ask how much you got the first day? Here in Baltimore County we get $15, unless youre assigned a case, then it goes up from there. I dont mind it, people think Im nuts because I like yourself, want that juicy case!
I sweat a lot when I am talking to someone other than family like strangers 😂

I am 70 and live in Canada. I have never been called. One time I was in the mall during lunch. There was a bailiff handing out subpoenas to collect jurors.
When I was on jury duty the case was so boring our judge fell asleep and jurors brought pillows with them as well

I get what she saying she can talk to you whenever she wants through the whole process. But she can't talk to Putty, and putty doesn't know where her mom went for all. She knows her mom's never coming back again. You have to understand that, come on, sometimes it's about the dog, Steve. Sometimes it's about the dog. Lol😅😅

I always want to be on jury duty but when your family in law enforcement and you hearing first hand true crime stories they dismiss you quickly darn conflict of interest
I could see that
When I lived in Bishop (Inyo County) their jury pool is really small. I got put on 4 juries, actual juries, in the 6 years I lived there. Small town & everyone knew everyone's business, so I got picked because I was the person who had no clue what went on before I moved there. The judge told me I was like finding the perfect juror. I had literally only lived in the County 6 weeks.
Good juicy cases: a medical malpractice/murder, a grand theft/murder, drug dealing (we're talking Breaking Bad type), a local stockbroker who was committing fraud, insider trading & laundering money with the County Sheriff & a deputy overheard a conversation over a loudspeaker in the jail & recorded it. Of course the person on trial was not the guy's committing fraud, but the young deputy who made the recording from the loud speaker. (That trial went to the state court in Sacramento).
Small town courthouses & in downtown Bishop this guy known by the locals as Crazy Dave (because he wore a helmut so he could talk to the aliens who came to visit the High Sierras) would come in every day to sit in the the courtroom & take a nap in the back row.

I’ve been called 3 times for jury duty. Last was Walmart robbery which settled. Boring.
Yes i was onthe worst case ever a rape, the guy was so guilty but they put that lady through hell.All kinds of body parts were discussed, it was not at all boring!! We absolutely found hom guilty!!! This was several years ago, i sometimes worry what could happen when he gets out....

Hehehe, i called up for jury service in britain! It was a 2day case with a few witnesses, the guy that was up, was up for flashing exsposing himself to females in the park in a trench coat of all thing's 😂😅, when i seen him realised it was somebody i went to school with(HILARIOUS)so told the magistate and they took me off, and put someody else on, he was convicted it was in the local press, what are the odds LOLX 🇬🇧😅😊😍🇬🇧

I went for Jury Duty and the same thing happened to me. The Clerk of Court came in the jury selection room and said to be thankful the defendant had plead out. She had murdered her husband with a chunk of firewood while he sat in his easy chair. She then cut him up and took his body parts up on the parkway and deposed of him. Whew !

They called me for jury duty 3 straight months because the trial kept being pushed back. They finally canceled the trial. They must of reached a plea deal on it!

I’m the same way with my husband and my kittie . I love them so much. But I worry more about my kittie ( lunabin) more because she can’t talk and her and I have a special bond. Just like Stephanie does with Puddy . It’s just a mom thing.

Sucks you had to drive there. Here in O.C., you just call every night after 5pm for 5 days. If you get a jury, they let you know on the phone for the following day. Just have to be there within 90 minutes of the scheduled time. Simple.

My hubs did serve on one out of three man beat his wife up in a bar not from us they took them to the bar and talked about then back to the court house the lady won her case he was gone for three days

What's funny is I was called for jury duty when I was only 16. I had to go to the court house sat there for hours. And of course they told me I was to young for jury duty. That it was a mistake I was called. Lol.
