I wish there was an option to say to him “we can stop because this isn’t working for you”, alas there isn’t. I think he *thought* he was ready for this, but then something triggered him and he went back to his old survival habit of disassociating and fake performing. At least a follow up conversation with him and your character now understanding that doing things like that isn’t something he is actually ready for would be good. He is okay with you having fun with Halsin and/or the Drow, he just isn’t wanting to physically join in himself (though I think he would enjoy watching) and it’s good that he is learning what he is actually wanting/liking (and that he can say no) after so long.
@@thiriann maybe 🤔 I think he wanted to be ready to do things like this with his partner and so was enthusiastic when agreeing, but once he started doing things he realised he wasn’t actually ready for it, but maybe he was worried he would upset his partner if he stopped “in the middle” or something 🤔
The way that Astarion stares at Tav during the entire conversation has me in stitches dude is down HORRENDOUS. But damn the "million realms away" line was so fucking sad..our poor babygirl.
I wish when you realise he’s not ready, you were given a dialogue option to stop doing the sex and just go back to camp with him for cuddles and “I love yous” . Or maybe you can talk to him after the sex and remind him he is allowed to go at his own pace and he doesn’t have to jump into things so quickly if he’s not ready yet. Or at the very least there needs to be a talk before the sex, attempting to see whether he actually is ready or not. There can be an insight check too. If he admits he doesn’t want to do it or if you realise he doesn’t want to do it and is just doing it because you want to do it, then you decide not to do it and walk away.
I think this is hilarious xD They turn off the lights, but four of them have darkvision so they can see perfectly fine. Of course I'm sure it was so they didn't have to animate any of the trickier scenes which makes a lot of sense.

To be honest, I was wondering how you even got Astarion involved which is why I clicked to watch, cause in all my playthroughs so far I have been romancing him and he always says "I am not quite ready for something like this" and I respect his choice (dialogue option which says "Don't worry, I won't force you to do something you aren't comfortable with" or something along those lines) and just never go through with it. So was interesting to see why he would get involved
He will do it once you finished the Cazador quest if you're romancing him... but more so to please you and out of fear of losing you. Not because he wants to. "Million realms away" and all. So I never make him do it besides the first time I did after which I reloaded when it was made obvious he was not enjoying it at all.

He started to fell in love with me and decided to stop having sex because he felt deeper than that with me. So when I reached this part, he felt "not ready". After Cazador (I saved all the spawn) he was happy to have sex with the drows XD. You really must play this thousand of times to see everything...
Here because I'm sure my asexual ass would never willingly trigger this scene. I've got Halsin and Astarion in monogamous relationships with my characters, but this is... no thanks. Companionship I understand. Tasting random flesh, and with two siblings in the action? No thanks. But entertaining nonetheless. lol
Is this after Astarion ascension or after defeating Cazador without ascension? Because in my play through, he did'nt want to do that before dealing with Caz first.

I’m sure there’s other ways to get him to go along with it but it sounds like no matter what he’s not really into it so I’m glad I got to see the scene without having to do it myself in a run. Even though I could always just reload or smth.
I think it was an important part of his healing process, despite the disassociation. He tries, he fails, but he doesn't beat anybody up about it, nor does he feel disgusted as a result. I think he realizes its no longer for him at all, and sometimes, you need to try it before you know to avoid it. At least it was in a situation where he probably felt comfortable enough to experiment.

Guess I am just going to be fated to be the Angry Old Man Shouting At the Clouds, but the sex (not romance mind you) elements of the game are the worst parts for me. I know I can disable those elements and I do, but it's still disappointing that this game spends so much of the developer resources on trying to run the Faeurn equivalent of the Playboy channel.
