During the winter war thousands of swedes came to help their Finish brothers may their memory live for ever.
Long live Finland and the Finnish people! Love from Norway!
Thanks you, everyone finland who from finland cry on this song
Refreshingly wonderful Patriotism . I'm very moved .
This shit is far from patriotism, but I appreciate your sentiment.
@@jimraynor3767 what the fuck do you know about Finland and our patriotism?
We have been to Finland. What you need to understand is that this music is sacred to them.

Beautiful! and a public that can sing in tune AND harmonise. Now that's rare these days.
Us and the Estonians. They are even better at it =)
Beautiful. It makes me want to be Finnish!
🙏🕊️💛🕊️🙏
How beautiful was that. Love to Finland❤❤
The best hymn of the world.
Grattis Finland.
long live Sibelius
¡Viva Finlandia!.
Tämä laulu piristää minua, kun olen alhaalla ranskassa, Vaikka olen olut väkisin naturalisoitu ranskalaiseksi, pysyn silti suomalainen..
I was born on the same day Sibelius died and am very proud of that fact
This is my national anthem!
Siis tää oli aivan ihana! Syvästi liikuttava, ja erittäin isänmaallinen esitys, mahtava kuoro
Hyvaa itsenäisyyspäivää! Glad självständighetsdag! Happy Independence Day to Finns and Fennophiles all over the world.
Such a moment for all taking part!
Stirring and soul searching!
Eläköön! Eläköön! Eläköön!
De e ju så vackert.
a great musical presentation !
Kaunis idea.
Oi Suomi, katso, sinun päiväs koittaa,
yön uhka karkoitettu on jo pois,
ja aamun kiuru kirkkaudessa soittaa
kuin itse taivahan kansi sois.
Yön vallat aamun valkeus jo voittaa,
sun päiväs koittaa, oi synnyinmaa.
Oi nouse, Suomi, nosta korkealle
pääs seppelöimä suurten muistojen,
oi nouse, Suomi, näytit maailmalle
sa että karkoitit orjuuden
ja ettet taipunut sa sorron alle,
on aamus alkanut, synnyinmaa.
The hymn that became "Be Still, My Soul."
wonderful
Sinänsä hassua, että vielä vuonna 2015 oli ihan ok olla isänmaallinen.

?
I'm wondering if the Finnish lyrics are anything like this english translation? If you speak Finnish and english, I'd love to know. Peace!
FINLANDIA: This is my song, O God of all the nations
A song of peace, for lands afar & mine
This is my home, the country where my heart is
Here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine
But other hearts in other lands are beating
With hopes and dreams as true and high as mine
My country's skies are bluer than the ocean
And sunlight beams on clover leaf and pine
But other lands have sunlight too, and clover
And skies are everywhere as blue as mine
O hear my song, thou God of all the nations
A song of peace for their land and for mine
No, not at all actually. And there's nothing about god in the Finnish lyrics. Her
e's the English translation I found online:
Finland, behold, thy daylight now is dawning
The threat of night has now been driven away
The skylark calls across the light of morning
The blue of heaven lets it have its way
And now the day the powers of night is scorning:
Thy daylight dawns, O Finland of ours!
Finland, arise, and raise towards the highest
Thy head now crowned with mighty memory
Finland, arise, for to the world thou criest
That thou hast thrown off thy slavery
Beneath oppression's yoke thou never liest
Thy morning's come, O Finland of ours!
Lepää rauhassa isoisä. Kolme sirpaletta selkään talvisodassa...
Lots of white people. Proud and happy.
All those beautiful white faces, it brings hope for the world!
Long live Scandinavia. Reclaim your countries!
Sorry to say, Finland is not a Scandinavian Country, nor is Island. But Northern Countries are we all - Nordic Noir! :-D
Reclaim from whom? Do you believe the bullshit that Muslim are taking over Nordic countries? And as said above Finland is not a Scandinavian country. Finnish are not Indo-Europeans. Finnish are Uralic people, closest to Estonians
@@goodgirlkay The language is finnougrian. The race is nordic as anyone can SEE.
Is it true that the occupying Nazi's forbade this song for the fighting spirit it gave to the Finns?
Finland wasn't occupied by Nazis. Norway was
