Thanks Richard for sorting this one. Certainly not a simple tune up this one but was interesting watching the faults fall away as your replaced the trimmer and oscillator and brought it into a nice spec. Sensitivity again, amazing!
It's an easy fault to diagnose. no mention of using a frequency counter on the crystal or PLL to check the 10.240 first. or remove the crystal and using a crystal checker. there are many ways to check what the fault is before guessing.
Good point. I'm working on experience here, but a newcomer would be best to check the 10.24 to prove/disprove the reference crystal first. I'll cover that on the next Cybernet 134 repair. Richard
@ukfmcbradioservicingTango21 to richard you are most welcome i always enjoy your videos on radios and enjoy your air test From paul chapman at east sheen 73's
That's certainly not immaculate that one... there's a few scratches on it.. just a normal looking 220 if you ask me.. I like how you say the new RS trimmer was 'beautifully smooth' but looked like a drunk driver on a rally stage..!! i usually get them spot on 4v (on my uncalibrated meter) you took ages and was all over the place..
Good to see another 220 ready for many more years of service will look forward to the scratchy corner test.
