Hi Rebecca, the trick is to tie exactly where you want the knot to be. Often people tie slightly lower and then try to tighten which is difficult and you lose tension. Try crossing the ends over directly under their bottom then carefully feeding the end through to make the knot. Hope that helps!

I have a question: this is supposed to be a hip carry, but the baby is straight on your tummy at the end. Can the baby be more on the side in the hip? I am looking for any way to babywear on my hip (but with regular sling, No ring sling). Can you recommend any other way?

Hi there, When using a wrap or ring sling to hip carry you can position your baby where it's most comfortable for you. For most people this won't be as far round on your hip as you might have them when carrying in arms. The optimal position is is on your side with their leg wrapping round your side. Your arm and shoulder, on the side they're sitting, won't be pushed back and can hang normally at your side. This can look different for everyone depending on the age of your child and your body shape. But, you can choose what works for you.
      Hope that helps!

I'm having trouble getting them into a deep enough seat, any tips?

Hi Lisa, it helps to set the carry up with your bottom rail tightened so you don't need to adjust this too much. Sit baby on the fabric, adjust their position and then spread the material and tighten. If they wiggle you can always readjust and tighten by feeding the slack towards your knot and retying.
Make sure you pull the wrap all the way into the knee pits when you start, then use your passes to "pin" it in baby's knee pits. The key to this is getting them in a nice position with knees above bottom and a pelvic tilt. Once you've tied off you can check under your passes and readjust the seat so it's firmly under their bottom. If your wee ones wiggles or leg straightens try distracting them while you're tying off. Practising with a doll or teddy can also help you to get quicker.

Any demo of how to unwrap this after? Tried for the first time tonight. Im 16 weeks pregnant and my 17mo still needs rocked to sleep. I used this carry to rock him to sleep and it worked great, he loved it and it wasnt as tiring for me, but i woke him trying to transfer him into bed! I got all tangled with the bit over my shoulder! 😂

Try not taking off the pass over your shoulder. Instead, unknot the carry, undo the cross passes under baby's legs, then just loosen the main pass around baby and peel up from under their bottom, so you're taking the fabric up over their head and not disturbing them, and it stays around you. I hope that makes sense.
