  • The Cougar Laydown 'Stock Spec' is an evolution of the EOS winning Cougar Laydown.
    Huge attention to detail has been made to reducing the cars overall weight for the increasingly popular Stock 2WD Off Road class. As shown with our engineer Tristram Neal's TQ and win at EOS Rd 1 in Daun recently.

    I haven’t even painted my original Laydown and you release the stock spec version. Bugger ! Same happened with the L1, haven’t even painted it yet and the Evo can out. Thanks to Santa on that one 🤣
    With all those new goodies on the stock spec, I have to find a way to break it to my financial manager, hopefully she sees it my way. 🙏🏻

      Can just get the motor plate and chassis for yours, that'll at least help with the argument lol

      Glen Downer I suffer from PTSD, building kits is my down time, but also my obsession. Most of my kits I am yet to drive. It’s just an expensive obsession, as I can’t race because of the environment but I have the need to constantly build, it puts me in a better place. It can take me weeks to finish a kit (build only) as I try to stretch out the expense vs time factor. Then I’ll design a paint scheme etc.
      I wish Schumacher would sponsor me 🤣🤣🤣🤣, I think I have 8 of their kits that I can recall. The guys at my local hobby shop (or as I call it church) want me to join them at the local track, but it’s just way out of my comfort zone. So I sit at home researching kits, etc. Trish is great to watch, actually very calming. But then he throws a new kit into my warped thought train. 🤯 Schumacher if your looking for a charity case I’ll put my hand up 🙋‍♂️

      Paul Garwood Ah I’m sorry to hear that Paul, but it’s great that you’ve found something that can keep you occupied and distracted. I too love the building and setting up part of the hobby, as much as the racing tbh. I just spent the evening shortening all my servo wires as I hate the rats nest that was in there before!

    Just to note, in the US a lot of people are having trouble meeting the minimum 1499g weight requirement with this buggy.

    I looked at many models and studied various championships by vehicle type. I do not drive professional races, but I was looking for a high-quality buggy with the longest possible wheelbase. I found "CAT K2". Is there a dealer in Switzerland or Germany? I can't get it in Europe : (

    I’m a noob at RC. I have a Kanyon and a Slash and I want to start carpet racing. I’m not too sure about the electronics. Can I buy one RTR, or should I jump straight in to building them? Thanks!

      A-Main Hobbies carries Schumacher. Some tracks that have stores on-site also carry them, but it depends on the local scene.

    Why are you kits so expensive compared to those shipped in by the likes of AE and Losi which are all subject to import duties.
    Why dont you drop the price and collar the market in the UK like what american producers do on their soil.
    At my local club in Devon there are maybe 4 or 5 Shumacher racers< the majority in 2 wheel drive are driving B6. And we regularly get 50 + racing.
    I think its a shame as I would love to buy something made in England but you are too expensive !

    • @VestedUTuber
      @VestedUTuber 3 роки тому

      They're not going to listen, and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the next AE and Losi end up being just as expensive. As long as the top-level guys are willing to pay for it, these prices are just going to skyrocket until they're the only ones who are willing to pay for it.

      @@VestedUTuber They’re the same price as the average vintage Tamiya, I doubt they could afford to sell them much cheaper.

      A couple problems with that.
      1. At the moment, the average for vintage Tamiya is a bit inflated by the fact that the Avante got a recent rerelease. That car is far higher-end, and far more expensive, than most of the typical vintage Tamiya reres.
      2. With the vintage Tamiya models, you also get an ESC and motor that are perfectly spec'd for that car as originally intended, whereas with a racing kit from one of the top brands you end up having to spend at least an extra $200 for a brushless combo. Oh, and you have to buy tires (and sometimes wheels) separately for a racing kit as well, which also jacks up the price. A $370 racing kit can end up costing up to or even over $1000 by the time it's ready for the track.

    • @marklowry8799
      @marklowry8799 3 роки тому

      @@VestedUTuber Vintage Tamiya kits fall between toy and hobby grade models. Schumacher kits are high end race spec cars, there’s the big difference. The Tamiya ESC you speak of are $25 and you can spend the same amount on either a Tamiya kit or a race spec manufacturer kit. My original point and still my point is the equivalent price Tamiya are much lower quality and performance cars making Schumacher kits and cars amazing value.

      Doesn't matter if it's an amazing value if few people can actually afford the damn thing. I'm _still_ recovering financially from when I bought my Eclipse 3, because the damn thing needed specialized electronics that run on 1S. _Beetleweight combat robots_ have a lower initial investment when you actually run the numbers.
