So, this year was heavy work-wise. Commissions, book teasers, voice & animation tests, writing... Back in March, I finished Draft One of The August Few, and by July, I had finished Draft Three. It's been a packed year, but finally, the release of this book is in sight! Happy New Year!
She sounds exactly like a politician and speaks like a Shakespearean stage performer in the best way, the grace and elegance in her movements is mesmerising...
The impression I get from her voice isn’t exactly...arrogant or authoritative, as i initially imagined her to be. From this speech, She sounds like a person with a version of the future, very philosophical and inspiring. Very different from Winfred, who sounds like a powerful commander leading her people with fear and respect. Yet at the same time, I get the impression of someone of higher status talking down to me. Like a very aristocratic grandmother staring you down with dissatisfaction, expecting better then perfection, yet feeling constantly disappointment by the results. Does that makes sense to anyone? She seems to have good intentions, but we know what horrors she’s capable of. So I’m feeling unnerved. I’m very intrigued and excited to read more about her in the book.
Yes I agree. She knows her nature, demands dethatched reason and expects everyone to be a striving pinnacle of their culture by way of their own ambition, strength and temperance. Yet she is still the beast, not a beast that she denies, but a beast she can sink too. Remember too that Ludwig fled at the very sight of her chambers. SHe is the ultimate expression of someone pushing Darwinism to its logical extreme.
Progress needs to be tempered by hard-gained wisdom, caution by hope and curiosity, wrath with compassion and mercy, compassion and mercy with realism and pragmatism, wisdom needs to be tested with audacity, and so on. Moderation and balance in all things. Do not become an ascetic, eschewing all material things, do not become a hedonist, seeking naught but pleasure, do not become a stoic, feeling nothing and motivated to nothing, do not become a hysteric, focusing only on the greatest of things forgetting the little things, do not get so blinded by the trees that you cannot see the forest, do not confuse great vision for caring, do not confuse empathy or sympathy for good, do not confuse doing good for doing what is necessary, do not confuse necessary for right or correct. In all things changing, order. In all things static, chaos. Order builds, chaos corrupts. Order stagnates, chaos innovates. Sometimes you need to break a rotten structure. Sometimes you need to rebuild what has been destroyed.
And I was foolish enough to think Ludwig was intimidating. Nah, Locket makes him look like a new born puppy with how intimidating and chaotic her design is. I love it.
To be fair, Locket apparently considered Ludwig to be the one of the only fellas interesting/competent enough to be a prospective mate. At least in the previous lore.
Listening to her speak, I can understand why she was top dog and adored, but also feared. I can see why Winifred fell for this philosophical monster of red. Excited to see more of her!
@@starlightsoiree Winifred, Locket and the librarian are all three half related, they share the same mother but from different times. From what I understand the librarian is the oldest, he's VERY old, Locket is the second being just as old, and I believe winifred is the same age range as locket based on what I read on the lore site before it was taken down for updates. Locket killed Freyda from what I remmeber in the old lore site but that could have changed. It'll likely be elaborated in the book later on
I love how the recent models actually show more of Locket and her siblings being related by their similar attributes while still having their own unique traits.
The Grand Voice of the Kivouachians has finally been shown, and her voice sounds very sophisticated and posh, no less of the mighty political figure of the Underbirth. I can't wait to see if her power and ideals will either carry her people far than they could ever imagine... or crash and burn in the most consequential and devastating way possible for their civilization.
Can we talk about how every single detail of her body, movement, the way her throat moving in sync with every single deep cutting word, everything!! Exceptional!!! And my gosh she is STUNNING, and her ire and raw power can be felt the moment you LOOK upon her. Phenomenal work Fennah!!!
Agreed, the level of detail is stunning! I have to admit I was equal parts impressed and off-put by the numerous additional tiny eyes she has as part of her brows, but I take that as a mark of excellence that a creator such as Fennah can evoke such a response. The details of her physique flowing and drawing your eyes from one part to the next backdropped by her voice and words! She is certainly inspirational and I can't help but applaud Fennah for once again exceeding expectations!!
So, this is Locket. Physically impressive, yes. But her true power is in the words she chooses and the way her tone of voice accompanies each one. Her mind values what can be measured and tested, and how each individual uses that to strive to be what they want. That none are above or below any other on a moral high or low ground, and what they can do as seen for their social. Judged by what they are capable of to culture. Her words pull in to what seems like a good place to be. Who wouldn't want to be judged by the morality of their choices? Who wouldn't want to live a life free from that? And free of judgement from our differences? Is there anything more beautiful? Her words paint it so beautifully, even I'm tempted to believe it. But, just as with any politician, there is reason to be skeptical. Without the thoughts of morality. How can one despise morality without having thought about their own? Perhaps her hatred of morality come from seeing the different wavelengths of morality throughout The Underbirth. Other might value morality more than physical substances. More that her. And with that thought in mind... Does she hate morality, or does she fear it? She values what can be measured and tested, and seen. But an individuals morality isn't so easy displayed. Does she fear morality will get in the way of her plans for the city? Does she fear that other kivs will begin to see her as lacking morality? Or is this something deeper? Something bigger?
I would venture that she despises morality and the stutterstep progress it has made. She wants an efficient culture, one that builds and innovates on the past constantly, rather than the two steps forward, one step back, twenty paces forward, five back, twelve back, three forward, lay down and roll seventeen diagonally that humanity has been doing for roughly twelve thousand years.
1st: I dont care if I lose my arm, I just wanna run my hands through her hair just to feel how floofly it is. 2nd: I love the detail that when she breaths in her throat contracts (cant imagin how much of a pain that was to animate, fantastic job.)
I've sort of realized but Winifred is truly the bark to all of Locket's bite. Locket doesn't need to be forceful in tone, in existence because it is already her power to be so. Winifred is the declaration of that power

A very hard act to follow for our current grandmaster Ludwig. I wonder what happened to turn her into such a broken and feared creature we once saw. Editing to add: Yes, I am well aware and have known since the announcement that Satellite City isn’t canon anymore. Doesn’t make theorizing and being interested in the possibilities of what could possibly harm such an untouchable-looking being in the beta version of the story any less interesting.

I love how all these siblings from the same parent have visual similarities so you can tell but also are different enough from one another to be unique.
Kudos to the voice actor - she nailed the typical political leader speak perfectly. One is *almost* tempted to nod at every sentence. And the animation is superb. 👍
Wow!!!! She is truly a queen in every sense of the word. Powerful, inspiring, gorgeous, intelligent, and quite a poetic speaker to boot. Wonderful job!!! We are all very impressed by this work of art!!
It'd be really cool to one day see two of these characters talk together in a debate! If the info from the website from a while ago is still relevant, I think it'd be really cool to see like, Winifred fuck someone up with words
She moves like water, constantly flickering pieces of herself. It leads a more living image. She sounds not like a dictactor or demon but as a philosopher and teacher. It's easy to see why people flocked to her.
Listening to her speech word for word, I have to say that Locket is right on a lot of points. Individuals have always been historically known to produce change in some degree or other, and her measure of thinking has great merit. The rules of morality that have been set their by the collective consciousness can be culturally stagnating, to the point where progress, stability, and individualism are cast aside in favor of public image, status, and the notion of "fitting in." What people seem to forget is that, without the individuals, we cannot have the collective, as the collective is created by individuals with similar mindsets and goals. However, I must partially disagree with Locket in the sense that morality must be cast aside entirely for culture to flourish, if that is the message she is promoting. The part where I disagree with her ties back to her promotion of individuality, as the singular person needs to have their own personal beliefs on how he and he alone must live his live. If he believes that mindless slaughter does not align with his life path, then that is the set of morals that he himself has set for himself. Protection of self, family, and friends is also a set of rules by which a reasonable individual may also live their life, on top of adopting a live and let live outlook. These are just a few examples of reasonable morals one can adopt as an individual, as these morals also line up with what is understood to be the laws of the natural order of all things. What I'm trying to say, as a whole, is that I agree with Locket's speech to a degree, and can also see her as being a very charismatic figure within your book. Can't wait for it to come out, for I anticipate it to be a good read. Good luck, Fennah.
I watched her speech several times, but this time when i had randomly stopped it, i discover that these red beads are actually little eyes, what an insane detail, now I can peacefully go to sleep with my new paralysis demon
While aware that UA-cam is geared towards distraction for the purpose of data gathering, I find my self delightfully detained by this odd yet spectacular display. I have yet to find any 'thing' that can contest her content, her context, or her mannerisms. Captivating. I wish there were more who spoke this openly about individual competence without sounding condescending. Honestly, she made my night, as did you. Happy New Year and Sharp pair of Fangs.
If I understood her speech, in lack of better words, she's saying morality is dumb, if they are powerful beings they might as well step on the weak and dictation rules. I love her voice, she sounds very persuasive
Ok with every voice and animation test it makes me want the books more and more,I can’t wait to read about these magnificent characters!!! Keep up the great work!
Holy hell, so that's Locket. Wow putting the animation aside (which was awesome btw) Locket is a absolute leader, the likes of which I don't think I have heard before. If I had to describe what her leadership ability was based off of I would say honesty. Pure animalistic honesty. Not to be the person that claims to be good and chains their wants and desires but the person who freely accepts who they are and only looks to improve themselves to the best of their abilities. To put it in trailer park speech, "Y'all be yourselves, Fuck what everyone else thinks! If someone tries to stop ya from grabbing that beer, you tell them to shove that AA meeting flyer up their .... well you get the point."
You'd think those antlers would be a hindrance, looking more fashionable than functional, yet she's also among the strongest of her kind. It'd be interesting to see how she'd fight.
@@ozzywalker609 Their species has the ability to control their genetics at the subatomic level. They can take literally whatever appearance they want. If Locket's antlers look like that, it's because she chose for them to look like that. Considering that both Locket and Winifred have massive antlers, and both of them were undefeated in battle, I think it's safe to say that they were not as much of a hinderance as we might think.
@@ozzywalker609 I don't think that's how their physiology works. Their world doesn't really have a concept of aging. How you look when born is basically how you look a billion years later, save for any clothing. They're basically born adults, implying her antlers were always like this. At least, that's my understanding of things.
@@Nyrufa In the current canon (The August Few books, as stated on Fennah's discord), no, they cannot freely choose their appearance. Body alterations are possible, but only temporary, and require constant concentration to maintain.
@@TheLordmep While Kivva do not die from old age, they do grow and change though. Their young (called "fowlers") start about the size of a mouse nnd grow from that. Then there is kuerticulation (their "puberty"), when a kiv reaches sexual maturity and undergoes sort of metamorphosis. This usually makes them bigger and stronger, but can also go wrong and cripple them for life
The way she speaks is so poetic and the music just adds to the raw power of her voice, her actions and strikes right to the heart as she gives her speech! I love everything about her, and cabt flipping wait to see the final of the book! Gj!

She strikes me as someone who's going to be "chewing the scenery" so much, she's gonna be picking it out of her teeth. Not always a bad thing, just a thing.
She sounds like she a a touch of the "charismatic politician that rises up before a disillusioned populace, presenting grand visions of the future just before presenting a nice, juicy, fat scapegoat" archetype in her. Nice.
She was so close to the truth she seems to crave to touch... but fell short. But one thing cannot be denied, be you in agreement or not with her philosophy... ... she's got *style*.
I resubscribed once you uploaded this video, Locket is one, if not my most favourite character that you've made! I still wish to see her Animation Test tho.
Ludwig is unlikely to be her opponent in the August Few, since he only became Grand Voice in discontinued Satellite City story. AFAIK he is merely a new anchor in the current canon
Did I just get a pep talk from Locket herself? I just feel like I did, I am so confused and conflicted with these feelings. Like did we all just get a pep talk?
The moment the animation started I saw all the little eyes move around in different directions under the antlers, my god that must’ve been a BITCH to animate
@FENNAH, the design of Locket makes her seem like a relative of Winifred!!!!! The evolution of all characters’ designs since the very first video of Satellite City is astounding! Since the Kivouachians are creatures that can evolve, that would be neat to incorporate that into the videos! Like a coming of age or a showcase of maturity. That’s how I see it. I can’t wait to buy your books!!!
Ironically, her philosophy of choice, competence, and objectivity sound an awful lot like a moral system. A very kind different to our own, to be sure, but moral nonetheless, since it forms a basis for what she regards as condemnable, what's acceptable, and what's praiseworthy.
Locket reminds me of the kind of person who'd put a parrot on the witness stand in a courtroom to get every sordid piece of information out of its owner's life.

Her voice is so posh and satisfying to listen to definitely someone you want to listen to and not talk back to great job! 👏🏼
It'd be really cool to one day see two of these characters talk together in a debate! If the info from the website from a while ago is still relevant, I think it'd be really cool to see like, Winifred fuck someone up with words
Your animations are so pretty!! I adore them so much and her design is Mesmerizing same as her words
Not gonna lie... I'd vote for her as governor any day. She sounds component, truthful, and a sense of duty to her people. I like her.
I bet you guys say the only reason Nazis were bad was because they were racist.
Oh she’s honestly a gorgeous character! Keep up the good work 👍
She moves like water, constantly flickering pieces of herself. It leads a more living image. She sounds not like a dictactor or demon but as a philosopher and teacher. It's easy to see why people flocked to her.
God I love it when they say "wa-la-wa" it's so cute for some reason
I’m in love with her her voice and her power
Ok with every voice and animation test it makes me want the books more and more,I can’t wait to read about these magnificent characters!!! Keep up the great work!
This is THE Locket?! Damn her speech was legit motivating🤘🏾
Now i understand why she was a great leader once 👀 the voice and dialogue were perfect
Dang, no wonder the Kivouachians treated her with such fear and respect.
Oh, and that use of the God of War soundtrack! *(chef kiss)*
You'd think those antlers would be a hindrance, looking more fashionable than functional, yet she's also among the strongest of her kind. It'd be interesting to see how she'd fight.
I was thinking they may look like that because they keep growing, and aren't being worn down with use because Locket hasn't been challenged in so long
@@ozzywalker609 Their species has the ability to control their genetics at the subatomic level.
This usually makes them bigger and stronger, but can also go wrong and cripple them for life
Omg I've been waiting for this soo long I love her 😭🔥❤
The way she speaks is so poetic and the music just adds to the raw power of her voice, her actions and strikes right to the heart as she gives her speech! I love everything about her, and cabt flipping wait to see the final of the book! Gj!
Got new headphones for Christmas and this was the first video that showed up when testing them on UA-cam. I am very happy now . Beautiful creature , looking forward to the book!!!
I love her voice when we saw her I the show u can imagine her voice now being broken like it was
Seeing what she looked like before Satellite city is amazing and her voice speaks volumes of how powerful they were before everything happened.
I’m calling this a Christmas gift right here to all the fans.. Sam you are amazing dude!
And there is that Wah-La-Wah! Again yeeee!!!
I can't get over this designs, the old ones and new ones all look so good. Can't wait for the book.
This resonates with me in such a manor that even I would would bow before her wisdom.
the perfect christmas gift! locket is absolutely stunning; imposing as a politician, but wise like your elder. being able to see her in her prime after all these years is indescribable. amazing work by both fennah, flup, & the voice actor!
i especially love the cinematography, like the camera honing in on the parts of locket she's talking about. i'm so excited for the august few!! merry christmas & happy new year. ♡
This is a very powerful speech. Elegant yet booming voice. Very nice.
I can see why she is the Grand Voice. Amazing. Truly amazing.
Her voice sounds like as if she was a Queen holding a speech
Nice. I'm looking forward to that book so much. Not very often I decide to read anything, but that's will definitely be an exception.
This is absolutely amazing sir Fennah! Animation houses are running in terror lol.
She strikes me as someone who's going to be "chewing the scenery" so much, she's gonna be picking it out of her teeth. Not always a bad thing, just a thing.
Lockett looks absolutely terrifying yet beautiful at the same time. I'm so excited for the book to come out!!
good meadured to what we all share: self aware conciousness.
the only measure, as it measures any measurer
HOW DO THEY KEEP GETTING MORE BEAUTIFUL!? EACH TIME YOU MAKE ONE I THINK IT’S THE PINNACLE OF BEAUTY THEN YOU DO IT AGAIN BUT MORE?!?! MY HEART
My god this is beautiful! Love her voice
Are you kidding me, after a whole year I finally realize the music is god of war???
I resubscribed once you uploaded this video, Locket is one, if not my most favourite character that you've made! I still wish to see her Animation Test tho.
There she be!!!! Love her dialogue!!!
I can see how her words would sway loyalty from Ludwig's side of things.
Ludwig is unlikely to be her opponent in the August Few, since he only became Grand Voice in discontinued Satellite City story. AFAIK he is merely a new anchor in the current canon
*news anchor
I love how there's not even a word from the narrator. Not even an introduction, because Locket doesn't need an introduction.
She sounds just as demanding and persuasive as she's been made out to be for so long. 𝙄 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙩
I adore the writing the most and the visuals give it a large boost along with the voice acting.
I remember tuning into the stream of you working on her! Glad to see her finally realized.
Did I just get a pep talk from Locket herself? I just feel like I did, I am so confused and conflicted with these feelings. Like did we all just get a pep talk?
The moment the animation started I saw all the little eyes move around in different directions under the antlers, my god that must’ve been a BITCH to animate
I'm just watching and thinking
"these are truly words of wisdom.."
Beautiful. I love all your characters.
Locket, Winifred and Sombra are siblings, if I'm not mistaken
Ironically, her philosophy of choice, competence, and objectivity sound an awful lot like a moral system.
A very kind different to our own, to be sure, but moral nonetheless, since it forms a basis for what she regards as condemnable, what's acceptable, and what's praiseworthy.
Wow. Just wow. What intelligence. I get a real sense as to why she was in charge.
Well, she did kill her mother (who was the size of Mt. Everest) with her bare hands...
Again so much amazing work i love the vast differences in your characters.
0:02) Why did that smack sound like a parent about to scold their child?
ooh the power in her voice reminds me of the english voice for Integra from Hellsing (especially with the music in the background). Absolutely love it
Locket reminds me of the kind of person who'd put a parrot on the witness stand in a courtroom to get every sordid piece of information out of its owner's life.
Wow.. Locket just might have eclipsed Lacemaker or Celia for me. Great animation, great voice and an even better speech. Big BIG yes.
Damn. That was truly riveting. Never used that in a sentence before. Never heard anything that really felt it fit the word. Well done. Can't wait to read this book.
Loooove the asymmetrical design!
She is now my favorite character i just love how she talks and the energy she gives off while talking so strong and so unwavering. Its just perfect 👌
She looks kinda like Winifred but with Lucy's colors.
Also she looks so amazing.
Absolutely love this animation. The voice and the speech sounds like something from the bioshock games. Masterpiece video
