So I just happened up on this channel...I just picked up 2 old jetskis & brought them home to hopefully do 2 boats, one is a 14' 1968 Ouachita flat bottom jon boat, the other one is a 1975 Glastron...gonna also do a bass boat conversion on the jon boat as well & do a fish n ski on the Glastron...I got the 2 jetskis home & realized I don't know a damn thing about jetskis...Lol! Should make this pretty interesting! Lol! I do like the detail you're going into here, this will certainly help me out a lot!
The beauty about this is that after your done you'll know a lot about jet skis! Lol 😆 They're not complicated, my best advice is get a manual for what you've got so you have references and guidance specific to your ski, but other than that there's a ton of jet Jon owners and builders like me who will happily help you get on the water! Got luck with your builds! Hopefully you'll learn from mine just like I've learned from so many others, that's how we all win!
I hope so too! I can't wait to dig into these, but it hasn't stopped raining long enough for me to get anything done...as soon as I start to get somwhere, & have some content, I'm gonna start a new channel for boat builds & fishing...just got a new tool to help extract the engines from the jetskis & then I can get some more done once I get the motors out & can get ready to start cutting the boat up...almost ready to go!
Sorry about that, I ran into a problem with my editor. I'll try and get the footage over to my new editor. I'll give you my email and help you with your build if you want. Let me know!
It helps me brainstorm ideas too. Just like how you mentioned using the original steering column. That’s a good idea there. It’s all just pulley sustems, correct?

Yeah it absolutely worked great! Saved me some dough on that build! I'd go with a stick steering setup though, much easier to drive.
