I think 3pt shooting changes everything. You can come back from big deficits and put a team away with a barrage. Maybe that’s why home teams losing more recently
To those who picked MN 3-1 MAVS in regular season as evidence for MN to have an up-hand in next matches, you should look at this before betting: 1) In regular season, Kai missed 3 of 4 MN games, while Luka had only played 2 of them. 2) Kai and Luca had only played one game together in those matches, and MAVS won; 3) All MN's starters were same throughout regular/post season; 4) All those MN-MAVS matches were played before February, meaning PJ and Gafford were not there yet.
25:00 What??? Legler watched the Wolves clamp the suns and nuggets with physicality and think they wont have the physicality to slow down the mavs??? what is bro even talking about
@@gervinbeatz6326 yea it’s insane glazing, I got nothing against thinking the mavs can win they legit fr but it’s pretty baffling for that to be one of the main points for someone of Legler’s background…
Dallas is bigger Luka isn’t a small guy like Jamal Murray, Booker, Beal, or Durant, Luka is a legit big boy and kyrie is the greatest ball handler of all time. One of Denver’s and the Suns worst faults was there only real primary ball handler was a 7 foot jokic or 6’4 Beal and Booker who also runs his offense through the free throw line extended. I think it’s fair to say that they can take the physicality
Yeah its like he doesn't know what he is talking about.... haha. Legs is considered the best analyst in the biz. Is it him not closely watching every game, or you, making assumptions about a team that you have not seen yet. I'm gonna go with the latter
When he didn't complain in game 5 against OKC, he got fouled on every drive and got 3FTs. Other games he complained when he got fouled on every drive and got more FTs. Which is better for winning a game? It's a reffering problem.
@@ksm4648 Now that they lost it's "The thunder". lol Meanwhile, prior to the series everyone had them picked. Ya'll don't have anyone that can guard Luka OR Kyrie. And Gobert will be considered a liablility by game 3.
I think this is a bad matchup for the Mavs with an injured Luka. Especially when MIN benches Robert. Mavs kryptonite has been teams with 3-pt shooting 5s. They like to pack the paint and leave the weak link open.
KAT can stand his ground on the post but Rudy moves his feet better on the perimeter. KAT will be the hunted one. Also, McDaniels will stay in foul trouble. Probably 70% of the games
That’s why they should put Luka on towns. You don’t have to worry about his lateral movement and Luka is smart enough to get him in a foul trouble all night.
Rudy is a better post defender. He just tried to play without fouling and never plays more aggressive in the playoffs. That’s his real issue. He needs to get meaner in the playoffs and not playing this super clean basketball
Fault with the Nuggets: veterans know to go fierce on the inside in a close out game--shockingly they settled for outside shots. Credit T-wolves but to me Denver lost it.
The match ups favor Minnesota. Who you putting on ant? Luka or kyrie? None of them? Then you lose the match up with whoever you send his way. Send two constantly? They just beat Denver with them selling out to double ant. There's no answer because Minnesota is just deeper. The other way around? Wolves have the size, wolves have the perimeter defenders... You can never stop Luka and kyrie but you can slow them down. It'll force the rest of Dallas role players to step up. Will they? Well the rest of Minnesota's defense isn't a slouch either. It's not a freebie. Dallas defense is so underrated but Kyrie and luka are the weakest points on defense and that's Minnesota's strength. Conley setting up the offense and Anthony Edwards executing. I don't see Dallas being able to win a best of 7 series. Good luck though and i hope it's a great series.
I just don't see anyone getting past Luka, Kyrie and the new look Mavs this year. Tough series though, winner will take out the Celtics with or without Porzingis.
Amongst the remaining 4 teams combined, there is only 1 player out (KP for Celtics). Knicks had 5 key players out alone. Injuries play a crucial part when teams are this evenly matched
The Mavs are missing a key player. Maxi Kleber is the guy we need in this series to keep the Wolves centers out of the paint guarding his 3 point threat. He will be sorely missed
I don't have a dog in the fight, but I think the Mavs could surprise some people...a lot of analysts are just assuming now that the T-Wolves beat the reigning champs it's gonna be a fast walk right into the Finals.
I think this series is going to be about the other guys. PJ, DJJ, Green all shot the ball incredibly well last series. JMac, Naz, NAW, and Conley played well against Denver. Let’s see who can keep up their play. Ant will have a harder time in this series since Dallas actually has multiple guys they can throw at him. But, i think the Wolves edge it out in a back and forth series.
I disagree on Legler assessment on what the Wolves can do defensively against Doncic. I'd argue that the Wolves perimeter defenders present a bigger challenge to Doncic that he hasn't faced in the playoffs. For example... last season (2023) it was late in the season, the Lakers beat the Mavericks on a Sunday nationally televised game on ABC and Jarred Vanderbilt gave Doncic HELL defensively. McDaniels, NAW are pretty much built just like Vanderbilt is. And Ant-Man is more than capable to give Doncic fits defensively. Another very important detail.... Doncic is banged-up and you can totally see it on his jumpers. His shooting has been subpar in the playoffs.
@rancehamilton4683 u under every comment bro... I got tons of respect for this Mavs team. Hell imma huge Luka & Kyrie fan but seems like u aren't giving any respect to this Wolves team. We'll see what happens but I think the Wolves have a better team. If they play their style of ball they will win in 6
I have a lot of respect for the Mavs and love Luka and Kyrie and lot of Dallas’ players but I think Minnesota has this series pretty decisively, especially with Luka hurt as much as he is.
Denver will be back. They just need to get another quality shooter or guy who can create his own shot AND another quality backup big to take some of the burden off Jokic
I picked the Timberwolves to advance to the NBA Finals Championship Game or the Mavericks! Boston vs Indiana should be a good series! Boston should advance if they play the right way! The Timberwolves could win it all being the underdog! I know Boston is favored to win by the oddsmaker! Minnesota has something special going on this season! Would not be surprised if they are NBA Finals Champions 2023-2024!
Calvin Booth has to be fired for the Nuggets. He stole a years salary and did NOTHING to help his team except gaslight the fan base into believing "Nothing could be done." A good, creative, forward thinking GM would have found a way to do SOMETHING to shore up that well below average bench. The issue of Jokic playing too many minutes rests mainly with him IMO.
Denver is playing a brand of basketball relying solely on Jokic decision making, because that's such an advantage. What do you do with a back up big without those special skills? It's a different kind of basketball.
@@NealCarterVAright? Maybe this person doesn’t realize it was booth who traded for KCP, signed Bruce brown, and drafted Christian Braun… and they don’t win that ship without all 3 of those players
@@dougjohnson8835 no, but Ant will learn a valuable lesson about underestimating an opponent. Maybe you will too, but I bet not. You seem like a lifer blowhard.
My take is this: by the time the Wolves are finished with this playoff run, KAT will be an elite all star-defender and decision maker who uses his skills intentionally No more talks of trading this man. Wolf for life AWOOOO
KAT is the X-factor in this series. If he can get 20 ppg the Wolves will take the series. He was in foul trouble against the Suns and Nuggets because he had to guard KD and Jokic. KAT and Rudy will help off their defenders against Luka and Kyrie and the other will be the weak side help rotation off the help. The Mavs don’t have a 4/5 that can create their own shots. The Wolves have enough perimeter defenders with length to throw at Luka and Kyrie that it’ll keep ANT fresh to get at least 30 per game. The Wolves also have the length to contest and disrupt the Mavs 3pt shooting. That’s something that the Clippers and OKC did not have. I got the Wolves in 6.
Go back and watch what JKidd did to Gobert 2 years ago when he was with Utah. Luka missed the first 2 games but Mavs rolled through them drawing Rudy out time after time.
i think Luka will be ok. I believe he will get enough rest and treatment before Wed night to be great for this series. I also think they won't be able to guard Ky the way OKC did.
@LukaIsNonFlyingLBJ Kidd and Luka themselves have said that this is not the the type of injury that can get taken care of without a long lay off. Luka won't be healthy these playoffs.
If Luka is at at least 50%-60% this series’s it’s bbq chicken. If he continues at 40% Kyrie is going to have to step up or it’s going to be tough. Dallas statistically is the better defensive juggernaut but it will all fall down to Luka and Ky’s health.
Lukas struggled with mcdaniels in the past. He is no slouch. 6’10 with long arms and his screen navigation can cause problems for luka. Ya he will be able to put a shoulder into mcdaniels but due to his length, he will already be able to get a solid contest. Stop sleeping on the best POA defender in the league
in the past. this is the playoffs. the only one that really gave luka some problems was andrew wiggins and that was in the past. mikael bridges was also great defender but luka cooked him
Luka played with 5 injuries and didn’t miss a playoff game, media ignored it. The #5 Mavs beat the #1 seed OKC, ignored. Luka beat the player who got more MVP votes than him, ignored. Luka got 3 triple doubles in the playoffs, ignored. Luka is the first player in NBA history to have a 34/9/10 season, ignored. Sports media believes if they ignore Luka’s greatness, he’ll just disappear. Just Ignore them!
not good enough on going through screens, so no jaden Is still the best matchup but isn't a great one like wiggins was or like kawhi was (when he guarded Luka he was great) but couldnt guard guard him mutch since Luka picks his matchups a lot. Need someone that can get through screens easily or Luka Will force switches on switches and do whatever he wants with either a taller or largly smaller player on him
Three series in a row the Rudy perimeter defense is a major talking point coming in. Maybe these talking heads will learn by the time the Larry O resides in Minneapolis...
For all the talk of the Mavs having a very different team from Denver with two guards who can shoot from anywhere, and that will be difficult for Minnesota... are we forgetting that the Timberwolves swept the team with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant on it? Hard to know how they match up post trade deadline, but before that, the Timberwolves have been pretty good at stopping Luka. Kyle Anderson will be a lot more useful in this regard this series. Hard to back him down, hard/impossible to hurry him up.

Y’all need a 3rd scorer not named Porter jr.
Yeah y’all will be fine. You just need to find a way to strengthen your bench. Need to find a quality backup big to help out Joker and another guy who can create his own shot off the bench in the nonMurray minutes. They don’t need to be great players, just capable role players
I think this might have to be a Kyle Anderson series. He is clearly their best match up against Luka physically and if you play him in the non Gobert minutes he is a great option!
Legs the only analyst out here giving the mavericks their flowers and I love it
2024 NBA Finals MVP: Luka Doncic
Timberwolves look scary as. Just finished sending the Denver Nuggets home. That was amazing. Go, Mavs. 😮
This is very informative I only have watch some NBA basketball since 2022 it’s 2024 I really think these folks are very personal this is good for a Millennial such as myself that don’t grow up watch the NBA now I have to look up the Timberwolves to see if they are a strong team. Really wonder which team is going to win the next batches of NBA games in the next months to come. FYI I never have as an adult followed NBA Basketball like I have this year it’s fun when you are jobless good pass time.
I hope Luka’s treatment is working. If he gets back to 90-95% (nobody’s 100% rn) Dallas will win in 7. PJ and DJJ will make it tough enough on Ant. As a Mavs fan I’m more worried about KAT… can DJJ contend with his jumpers? Oh wait a second he blocked Chet more than once. Haha Mavs in 7
🤣
Luka is fine, his crying ass. If PJ Washington and the others play like they did against OKC they can win.
90-95%?!? dude hes like at 60%😂
i dont think they will need 7 if he is close to 100%
Jokic scored 17 straight points in the 2nd. For context , Denver scored a total of 14 points in the 3rd quarter.
who on Dallas will be guarding KAT or Naz? it's gonna be a matchup nightmare for Dallas. Why do people keep doubting the best defense in the league? It's not Rudy 1 v 5. It's 5 v 5 and Minnesota's 5 is a better group than Dallas.
probably pj… unless maxi makes a full recovery by then
@@tolstoyednot looking good for maxi showing up any time before the finals.
@@sleazyneezy he did start to get some shots up about a week ago… but yeah, they probably don’t count on him coming back for these series. but either way it’s going to come down to pj, because maxi would come in of the bench. it sucks mostly because pj has to be careful with the foul trouble, but he managed that quite well against the okc
Who’s going to outscore Luka, Kyrie, and DJJ? Double team Luka, double team Kyrie, who’s guarding everyone else?
PJ probably. People also keep doubting the mavs dude, the Timberwolves are also the favourites in this series, apart from Legler I don’t know about any other guy in the media who is picking the mavs
I think 3pt shooting changes everything. You can come back from big deficits and put a team away with a barrage. Maybe that’s why home teams losing more recently
Lets hope luka doesnt cry the whole series
Oh he will
inevitable
He will and have a triple double while doing it. You will watch it.

How can Minny lose with Michael Jordan on the roster 😂😂😂
Legler said dort could hold his ground against luka, that's weird I saw him getting pushed back very easily whenever luka wanted
What he meant was he's always ON the ground with all the football bs he got going on
Yup. The only way Dort stood his ground is by flopping and tackling Luka
You mean that dude at home on his couch, right?
To those who picked MN 3-1 MAVS in regular season as evidence for MN to have an up-hand in next matches, you should look at this before betting: 1) In regular season, Kai missed 3 of 4 MN games, while Luka had only played 2 of them. 2) Kai and Luca had only played one game together in those matches, and MAVS won; 3) All MN's starters were same throughout regular/post season; 4) All those MN-MAVS matches were played before February, meaning PJ and Gafford were not there yet.
25:00 What??? Legler watched the Wolves clamp the suns and nuggets with physicality and think they wont have the physicality to slow down the mavs??? what is bro even talking about
Hes got money on dallas, its been apparent all playoffs
@@gervinbeatz6326 yea it’s insane glazing, I got nothing against thinking the mavs can win they legit fr but it’s pretty baffling for that to be one of the main points for someone of Legler’s background…
I'm laughing at this troll 217 times 😂
I got Dallas in 6
😂😂😂
😅😅😅😅
S/O to legs he been consistent with my mavs 🫡🫰🏾
Legs is on point about Luka complaining... He complained on every possession.. even if he made the shot. Gotta chill out on the complaining
why do you complain about someone else complaining?
@@tolstoyedlook at you complaining about him complaining about Luka complaining. Pffft
@@JazzYachtrocker i just asked a question, it wasn’t a complaint
@@tolstoyed trololol. K buddy
When he didn't complain in game 5 against OKC, he got fouled on every drive and got 3FTs. Other games he complained when he got fouled on every drive and got more FTs. Which is better for winning a game? It's a reffering problem.
Question: if Ant is guarding Kai. And Jaden is guarding Luka. Who is 6'2 Conley guarding? 6’7 PJ Washington who has emerged as a legit 3rd scorer?
Pj isnt that good, so yeah, or Derrick jones. the bigger problem is how is dallas gonna compete with Minnesota’s size
@@ilovekaiyko yea that’s what the Thunder thought, now they are home.
Pj was second leading scorer vs OKC.
@@ryansatchell2302The thunder😂
@@ilovekaiyko Djj, PJ, Lively, Gafford, Luka all 6’7 plus. Only match up concern for Mavs is Kat
@@ksm4648 Now that they lost it's "The thunder". lol Meanwhile, prior to the series everyone had them picked. Ya'll don't have anyone that can guard Luka OR Kyrie. And Gobert will be considered a liablility by game 3.
It doesn't really matter how good either team is. The matchup is always the most important aspect. Great teams can lose with the wrong matchup.
They both will be hunted to put them in foul trouble or to open up weakside passing
🥱
Luka torches Gobert….
Fault with the Nuggets: veterans know to go fierce on the inside in a close out game--shockingly they settled for outside shots. Credit T-wolves but to me Denver lost it.
Isn't Luka cooking Golbert the reason the Timberwolves even have him?
The best NBA podcast, bar none. (Oh, and Celtics in six.)
GOD KYRIE ANDREW IRVING about to straight SNAP!!
Hope Kleber comes back so we can have a big to draw Rudy out of the lane along with PJ pulling KAT out the paint
LOVE HIM! tim's hairpiece though 🤔....just do the bruce wills vin diesel thing my mellow
I don’t think Wolfs match up well against Mavs
I don't have a dog in the fight, but I think the Mavs could surprise some people...a lot of analysts are just assuming now that the T-Wolves beat the reigning champs it's gonna be a fast walk right into the Finals.
@@KClouisville right, mavs team are full of dogs , especially Luka.
@@KClouisville the mavericks win in a TOTALLY different way than Denver. The things they did to beat Denver won’t work against Dallas.
LETS GO MAVS!!! 🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵🐴🔵
Keep doubting the Wovles
Okay.
@rancehamilton4683 u under every comment bro... I got tons of respect for this Mavs team. Hell imma huge Luka & Kyrie fan but seems like u aren't giving any respect to this Wolves team. We'll see what happens but I think the Wolves have a better team. If they play their style of ball they will win in 6
It’s the mavs that are being doubted 😂😂 Legler is the only analyst I know who’s picking the mavs
Tim Legler for Dallas mayor
Add Bruce Brown and Jeff Green to the Nuggets rotation and this is Denver series. What killed them is nothing but lack of depth.
Add Bruce Bowen, lmao now were just adding players from different eras in order to win
Todays' player plays for himself, not their city.
Hot take saying it after they both make the wcf
I picked the Timberwolves to advance to the NBA Finals Championship Game or the Mavericks! Boston vs Indiana should be a good series! Boston should advance if they play the right way! The Timberwolves could win it all being the underdog! I know Boston is favored to win by the oddsmaker! Minnesota has something special going on this season! Would not be surprised if they are NBA Finals Champions 2023-2024!
When Mavs played the Jazz in 2021. Gobert was played off the court. I think that will be the case again IF Kleber is able to play
The best part is the exclusive he gave the ringer only for the bench to score 5 points in game 7 🤡
Denver’s roster was lacking, no other big
Denver is playing a brand of basketball relying solely on Jokic decision making, because that's such an advantage. What do you do with a back up big without those special skills? It's a different kind of basketball.
His first offseason won us a championship. Please learn some patience

kyle anderson on Luka will be very interesting...
My take is this: by the time the Wolves are finished with this playoff run, KAT will be an elite all star-defender and decision maker who uses his skills intentionally
No more talks of trading this man.
Lol😂😂
Luka is going to addopt wolf pups 🤣

@LukaIsNonFlyingLBJ Kidd and Luka themselves have said that this is not the the type of injury that can get taken care of without a long lay off. Luka won't be healthy these playoffs.

If Luka is at at least 50%-60% this series’s it’s bbq chicken. If he continues at 40% Kyrie is going to have to step up or it’s going to be tough. Dallas statistically is the better defensive juggernaut but it will all fall down to Luka and Ky’s health.
