Great topic, so many people around the world battle anxiety and depression every day! I have had so many things to battle against in the last twenty y ears it's crazy but it won't beat me! So candid and honest of you Tal to address shit like this. Remember though, it's just like a hamster on a wheel, it runs like fuck and gets nowhere. Just like Bob Marley said, "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, not but ourselves can free our minds" (Redemption Song). Love you a long time Tal xx

I went through this from approx. age 13 to my early 20's.
In the beginning, I tried to hide it, which makes it worse.
You're honest about it. You are aware of what symptoms you are going through.
    You are fighting it.
You have goals , hobbies, and friendships that will help fend this.
I know it's not the same for everyone, but you can beat this.
When the attacks happened to me, I always tried to detach myself from the situation.
"My heart is racing, but I'm fine, no dangers, good people around me...." And somehow, the attack dissipated.
Exercise and the ukelele you play are definitely the way to go.
Keep doing what you love and being with who you love. Go at your pace.
    You got this, brother!

The panic attacks turned into heart palpitations. I understand your fears and your desire for freedom. You can be free because I conquered 5 years now. As a Therapist in my full time I can understand the varied issues depression and anxiety have on a person. I send you my best in your recovery, really love the videos and look forward to seeing more in the future.

This is a good topic to discuss! Traveling I feel especially traveling solo in certain places can be a good thing as well as meet new people. I myself have been struggling with Mental Health even though it has been off and on the past few years but this past winter break was definitely a Wakeup call. Back in December the day I came back from California I had a very bad panic attack until I was admitted into an Inpatient Facility. I'm really glad that you've been able to open up this discussion and how we can overcome it! I've been watching your videos on NYC and let me just say I was able to visit some of the places you have recommended on your channel. Hopefully, we can meet soon while I'm in Miami next month! I also get palpitations and heart spasm episodes from stress. When I wore a heart monitor it was this big clunky thing on a lanyard with all the fun wires...sooo much fun... I also used to have panic attacks almost every night, but they suddenly ended out of nowhere 5 years ago. I still suffer from palpitations, but it's nice to know that someone else out there had the same issue as me. When I get the spasm episodes, if I bend over or lay down the blood rushing to my head stops the spasms and palpitations.

    • @madimize1845
      @madimize1845 5 років тому

When I'd have a panic attack, it would pass more quickly if I sat in the corner of an open room with someone with me but no talking with either the radio on or the TV on, or just sipping on water and focussing on breathing. For my heart palpitations and spasms, I'm on a low dose beta blocker and it's been helping some. I also went through all the testing and was told my heart is healthy and that I was 'fine'. Many doctors say to stretch in the mornings, exercise, eat well, and do breathing exercises.

Been there with anxiety... Without knowing it for some time. Still suffering but seems more under control lately. Came to a head last year when the stress of my job etc caused my body to shut down and lost a lot of weight (my lowest weight was 7stone 10 pounds at one point, iam 5ft 6"). My wife hated being around me, I lost interest in my hobbies. I finally went to the doctors after a friend and my wife forced me to go. I am getting better with some small set backs but feel more happy-go-lucky now. Good health to you all ❤️

I had panic attacks as well. They came out of nowhere. Luckily I was 40 so could deal with them a little better. But what really got rid of them was medication. Clonazapam. 25mg. After 2 weeks I never had another panic attack. That was 15 years ago.

I had bad acne as well as a teen. It started around 10th grade and by junior year it was full blown. I went to my derm and he put me on Acuttane as well. I had only physical symptoms, basically dry cracked lips constantly even with constant lip balm, and I guess my blood was drying out too because I had have my blood monitored every 2 weeks and the blood would clot in the normal sized needle. So they had to stick a harpoon sized on in my arm each time. Thankfully it worked great and after 6 months.....not one pimple and never again after that forrrrrrrrrr 25 years now. And it was a bad case. In just 1 year I already had the tell tail acne scars on my middle cheeks.

Thanks for sharing - it takes courage to open up about these topics. I think it’s extremely positive to feel tired of dealing with all this, and ready to move on; on the other hand, be prepared to experience some frustration, because as other people pointed out, mental issues tend to come and go in life, and then again come back. It’s mostly all about becoming stronger, and getting better at focusing on our power of resilience , in order to learn how to live with them without feeling overwhelmed. If I may suggest some strategy, try not to focus on how these issues inhibit you from living your life the way you imagine it, because this could cause the issues to gain more power, and sum up to even more anxiety. I have personally felt considering the issues as a part of my life experience to be more effective, and accepting them as a source of growth that taught me how to get better at using my resources. That’s at least what works better for me, hope this could be helpful in some way. Thanks for your great videos, take care!

I subbed because I have been dealing with the same issues.I sometimes get weird heart palpitations when I lie down, even in my sleep if I am having a bad dream or feeling stressed.
I don't know if its due to my current situation where things have not gone the way I wanted to.
Sometimes I feel really dissapointed in the outcome of my life, where success seems far from me at the moment.I just hope I can resolve all this.

WOW. This video is absolutely amazing. My story is quite similar. I used to travel all around the world (back and forth to the PI for summer) and once i turned 25, it's like a light bulb switched (off), I've been trying to face it head on by traveling as much as I can, staying in the US haha. However, I know that there are underlying issues to my GAD. Have you tried adaptogenic mushrooms and ashwaganda? I swear these supplements have changed the way that I think. Keep your head up! There's ALWAYS going to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

TheTravelingClatt Ashwaganda is a root (I believe 😅🤔) and the mushrooms are usually a mix of all different types of mushrooms (shiitake, chaga, lions mane) both of these are considered to be “adaptogens” and when taken daily like vitamins they help your body “adapt” and cope to daily stressors and triggers, both subconsciously and consciously. Living with general anxiety disorder, I get triggered DAILY 😅, but I’ve noticed my ability to rationalize my thoughts have improved since taking these adaptogens 👌🏽.

Dude, you need to draw a line in the sand, in your head. I'm a Special Forces team guy that concord this myself, same as my team brothers. 1. Stifle your emotions. Don't let them know. The fears and people I don't like, no one will ever know. 2. Talk with your doctor then remove the heart monitor, your stressing out yourself. 3. Shut your phone off at night and build something. Men need hand eye coordination and a result every day. 3. You have to many choices, your scattered without a defined direction. Make a three month plan and stick to it. 4. Wake up early, get your work out in every day. Most people aren't awake at that time, so it yours. 5. Self discipline. Maintain a schedule self imposed. Find your alarm clock. Wake up early and set it for sleep. Eat cleaner to fuel your system. Train Jujitsu to know your place then get better to improve it. 6. GET AFTER IT! No complacency, no backing down. In fact your stepping it up. 7. Last. Ego check brother. you dont need to worry about another panic issue because you'll quietly say to yourself "NO FACTOR".

Good for you for having the courage to publicly talk about issues surrounding your mental health.

I went through this last summer heart monitor and all even MRI and nuclear stress test yes I went all in lol. They ruled out anything serious saying it was all anxiety provoked I swore up and down it was something more serious physically wrong with me but I think a year later I’m finally starting to accept they might be right smh. It didn’t make sense to me because like you I had accomplished many of my goals and dreams and couldn’t figure out for the life of me why I would be unhealthy at this point in my life made no sense at all. It’s not logical but it does have real life consequences and physical manifestations that will become real if not dealt with properly. I had a question besides vacations have you sought therapy for your anxiety and panic attacks?

TheTravelingClatt it helped me tremendously especially when you click with the right therapist. Maybe you can try EMDR therapy to help with anxiety and past trauma or Hypnotherapy works for people as well depends on what works best for your psyche and comfort level overall. Do the research and see what you’re comfortable trying. Good luck!

ב''ה, you ever find out if, as supposedly with me, you genetically lack/are deficient in the enzyme that converts beta carotene to vitamin A?
Obligate [Jewish?] carnivory surprise, although I'm not in the mood to look up the gene again or whether it's X-linked.
Anyway, means Accutane, as I missed out on, would be major overkill, but a standard amount of animal-form A over time is necessary/helpful. And sufficient D to balance if you're also deficient or have issues there as I might. Anyway, on the A thing, guess who was vegetarian and had terrible skin and perhaps other problems.
Prior to all that, the megadose B5 thing kinda also works for the dermatology and there was a lipid/endocrine metabolism theory with that. And dairy really triggers the sebum for some like myself for yet other obscure reasons.
