I have been practicing origami for past 10months and i am planning on creating a yt channel is doing same origami copyrighted? Am I allowed to do your origami
my understanding of how copyright works is that the creator of this video owns the copyright to the video, and you are allowed to create “transformative works” of the video and the design, so long as you don’t make any money.
i don’t know if the origami is protected under copyright, but it doesn’t matter when it comes to youtube.
*what this means is that you are allowed to make your own videos of the origami if you aren’t just “copying”, or reposting, the content. by making the origami yourself, and by editing a video, you’re in the clear. just maybe think a bit before monetizing a potential channel lol, and always give credit*
even if you don’t make an origami channel, this is just good stuff to know!!
edit: this isn’t the youtuber’s originally designed origami, it’s the design of the guy in the title lol… so there’s that haha
