電視劇《孤芳不自賞》改編自風弄同名小說，講述了一個戰亂頻繁、分合無定的亂世之下，戰無不勝的晉國鎮北王楚北捷和聰慧無雙的燕國「女諸葛」白娉婷之間的愛情故事。

钟汉良的演技绝了呀，说“你到底还是要取我性命，好了，好……”眼睛下垂，眼神里的落寞看得真心疼。
This is love on such a deep level. His love for Ping Ting. How I wish there was more love like this in the world. No pretense, no acting, no make belief. Just a raw intensity of heart wrenching, tormenting anguish of pure love. Not seen much of that these days. But know this, Chinese film producers know how to bring this alive. Much repect from New Zealand and kudos to those that have given up their time to subtitle this into the English language. Without you, I would never have had the chance to experience such heartbreak.
No acting? We are watching actors albeit very good ones especially Wallace Chung

after watching a few chinese dramas, i notice the formula =
forbidden love + love triangle (2 men & 1 woman) + revenge + love at first sight (involve male female actors spinning in the air circular motion) + must somehow falling off cliffs (surviving heaps of other life threatening plots by bad guys) + misunderstanding & seperate + back together (optional with kids) LOL........have i miss anything else?
but still, i quite like this new drama. Wish it can be a bit unpredictable with surprises in coming epi.

A thing that I have seen all the time in C-drama is grown up, fierce women starting to behave like little, helpless girls. Men carrying their love interest around in their arms like a child when other people are present. In real life, most women think it is embarassing and shameful to be in this position when others are present. I see in C-drama a lot of bullying, fysical agressive behavior, by one of the male love interests, like grabbing wrists, forcing her to get close to him, forcing kisses, sometimes even going as far as rape by the standards in my country etc. etc. Men loose to women all the time. But you have those who admit, and those who deny. Some men even prefer to loose a game of chess with their wife, than to win, and have hell for the rest of the week :-)

@@realmofthesensessome women like an aggressive lover and ultra masculine men. I’m one of those. There’s an intuition present when a man knows a woman is receptive but putting on an act of reluctance. It’s a fine line but it’s a huge turn on for a woman who likes a strong man.
I like how Ping Ting has her child moments with the general even though she seems serious with the ppl around her. She likes to tease him once in a while, and becomes a child whiles doing it. I don’t blame her; she lived most of her life trying to survive, I guess she didn’t have time to be a kid when she was a kid, but once in a while, through out the show, you see the child in her. It makes her look quite different.

Under the guise of going to war with Liang, the General looked for and found his woman. Then he grabs her in broad daylight in the enemy's camp and this move is as good as cutting off the head and weakening the rest of the army. Ping Ting declares her commitment to the General and he's content. The two states were deceived into going to war, so the best outcome was that no blood was shed between the two armies. Besides she knew the cause of the war was unjust and Liang was the victim. The General retreats and he's not ashamed losing to her, because he's capable of seeing the big picture. Don't spill blood without a just cause and that's what Ping Ting has been trying to convey with her tactics. I like it.

I think the one falling was not real horse anymore... they don't risk an expensive animal anytime they want to exaggerate their Show. I couldn't stop my excitement of this series… so addicting, damaging my time but what can I do if I am uneasy a day couldn't sit watching at least 5 episodes!
