    The swamp was a dry dock for their ships that needed repair . The road was a path to the supply buildings that stored materials and food supplies . The housing for the people doing the digging were located near the center of the island near the old dock or warf. They never explained where all the diggings went from all the tunnels. There's something we' re not being told about that happened on the island years ago .

    • @johncoffey8645

      Being a dry dock would explain ship parts lying around in the swamp area, also I think that before the revolutionary war soldiers came there for finances for the war. Who ' s side it was I don't t know. I think Oak Island was an unofficial depository for military and pirates private stashes.

    I was initially hooked for a few seasons. I'd visited the island back in the 70s when it was open to the public so I had a fascination with it ever since. But the show just dragged on with too many cliffhangars and anti-climactic moments that simply fizzled. It became clear it was just another slick production designed to hook and addict the viewers with empty promises and inevitably deliver nothing. My parents remained hooked on it long after I stopped watching and everytime they mentioned an update I just rolled my eyes and changed the subject. I'll wait for the major headlines if someday they find something significant, thanks.

    I’ve been watching yrs, but I don’t think I saw maybe the first 1or2. Still, it intrigues me no end. One must have patience. The hunt is as interesting as the hopeful find. And I’m the same age as Rick and find him extremely attractive, love his voice and the thoughtful informed dispersing of knowledge gained by numerous various professional searchers and those they go to for information on finds. The people who have opted out apparently haven’t been paying full attention. I do, and will, and will follow it til the end. Whatever that is!

    I think we have established that there was activity on Oak Island at several different times. If they find the Money Pit, there's still 2 other drilling sites on other parts of the island showing gold in the water. Plus I think the Laginas and Canada (and I) want to know the history of the island. There was European mining in the Great Lakes area during the Bronze Age. There's the Templar artifacts. There's 17th century timber and artifacts. There's a Portuguese road. The oaks for which Oak Island was named apparently came from Spain. The coconut fibers came from the Caribbean in the 14th century. It was a busy place and there's more than one story to tell.

    why is it that people always avoid the fact that the boys that found the money pit were led there by a blue, pulsing light that was floating in the air maybe they leave that out because they want to give more credibility to a treasure being buried and not just some fanciful story, but the truth of the matter is they follow the blue light right to the very spot, where they then found the indentation in the ground and ridiculously left in place poly to say there's something buried here which doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If you're going to go through all that trouble to hide some thing and then leave such obvious proof there's something buried there so it must've been a honey pot because supposedly they found three chests of treasure at the 90 foot mark, and we're thwarted it from going further. Never leave out information that could be pertinent at pulsing blue light opens up. Lots of possibilities about why the treasure was found in the first place.

      I agree. Remember last season, water from the money pit showed high concentrations of gold and silver. When they dug down they found nothing but some timber. I think the whole thing is a fake.

  • @dhansel4835

    Talk about a money pit on Oak Island.... This TV show is a money pit. You pour vast amount of money with all kinds of digging
    equipment for many years and all you find is some old timber and relics. How much longer can this show go on.
    On the other hand there is "The Mystery of Skin Walker Ranch". Now that's going somewhere.
    If buried treasure has been in the ground for 200 years and our technology of the 21st century can't dig it up there is something wrong.
    Maybe we should go back in time and find out what techniques they were using. It's obvious what they are doing is not working.

    why woud anyone bury something so far down to where they'd never be able to retrieve it again?! & if they just wanted to destroy it by burying it, why wouldn't they just burn it? The whole premise to the show in nonsensical!

    • @evancoker194
      @evancoker194 2 роки тому

      The way I've always heard this, it was pirate treasure, and was placed deep in the sand to make it difficult to retrieve; .. parties witnessing, doing the burial. Seems they somewhat overdid it, and maybe tides, sea level was somewhat lower then, Greenland, Arctic ice, etc. Best i remember, thought it was believed to be Capt. Kidd, who was hanged in England, precluding his return. Teddy Roosevelt also dropped a pretty penny in attempts.

    • @taramathis2449
      @taramathis2449 2 роки тому

      Presumably the people/association that buried the treasure would know how to get around the booby traps and retrieve the treasure. Perhaps those people died in battle.

    • @evancoker194
      @evancoker194 2 роки тому

      @@craigholden564 No sir. It definitely was Teddy Roosevelt. Sea levels may have been lower in the 1700s. Obviously no one would knowingly bury something beyond their later reach. Roosevelt was known to be tight with a buck, ( please see his Dakota ranching operation ) and must have felt he was excavating on ' good ' information. He tried several times before he gave up, the seawater soaked shaft kept caving in on them. A treasure of Capt. Kidds' is what I recall all these years, .. and not that of Capt. Blackbeard, who died in that part of the world in a shoot out with the British Navy. But i could be wrong about Kidd.

After finding the lead cross and à few coins 🪙, all they come up with are ox 🐃 shoes 👞 and wood 🪵. I feel that anything worth anything was retrieved by whoever hid it in the 1️⃣st place. Not sure if I am going to watch 👀 the next season.
